The light is on because there is a problem with the ABS. It will go off after you have the system repaired. Now if you do not wish to repair the ABS then you will still have normal braking but possibly without ABS. You can either remove the ABS light bulb or place a piece of black tape over it. course....on all my hondas(3)...when the abs light would come on it had nothing to do with the brake system at all it was always some type of tail light, runner light or some type of lighting system within the car..... maybe this is it?
Your alternator could be going down the tubes. If I was told correctly, your rpms jump up because it is trying to recharge...
Where is the transmission dip stick on Mercedes C230?
In theory, its a lifetime and sealed system. In reality, MB absolutely wants this to be a dealer service on many of their cars. But to say only MB can do it is not really correct. (A filter, pan gasket, etc service at any transmission shop is possible...but requires a fill to the right level).
I know your going to find this hard to believe...I did....but its true:
You can fill through the dipstick tube...and of course, check the level there.
You use the dipstick like any other car.
But, they don't come with a dipstick!
You've got to buy one for it....about $50, or go to a shop that has one. The fluid is very expensive....about $90 a fill.
How do you program a key-less entry?
. Locking. Larger, orange button. Push the lock button. This locks all the doors and will set the alarm (if equipped and in 'setable' mode)
2. Unlocking. Smaller, blue button Driver's door only: Push the unlock button once to unlock the driver's door and also disarm alarm if set. All doors: Push the small button *firmly* a second time within a few seconds to unlock all the doors.
3. Chirp horn? The chirp is once for lock, two times for unlock, multiple times if a door is ajar when you try to lock them. This is optional. To turn the audible on or off unlock all the doors and hold *both* buttons down until the horn honks. The horn will always chirp repeatedly if a door is not fully closed when you lock with the remote.
5. Alarm. Valet mode or alarm off: alarm light (red dot center dashboard dispay) rapidly flashing 3 times/pause means the alarm is in "Valet" mode and is not setable. This light will stop flashing when you start the car.
Arming the alarm: to re-enable an alarm in valet mode, Unlock all the doors and hold the small button down on the remote until the light stops flashing. Now when you lock the doors the alarm will be set and the light will slowly flash on and off, on and off.
6. Alarm goes off? Push the small button on the remote or if you don't have the remote put the key in the ignition and turn it on and off three times.
7. Program remotes: works on all with Alpine system. unlock all doors. Cycle key quickly but carefully on-off app 10 times until the car honks one time. Do not turn the key far enough to start the car. Just to the 'on' position so the dash light up. When the car honks, open and close the driver's door, press a remote button and that's it. Program another remote? Open and close the door again and push the 2nd remote button. When you're done, remove the key and the horn should honk 3 times. You're all set. Sometime it takes me more than 10 on-offs to make the horn honk, sometimes you need to start-turn off the car, lock-unlock the doors a few times, wait a while etc. But is does work.
How do you replace the rear speakers on a Pontiac Grand Am?
== == My husband and I recently replaced all of the speakers in our 1996 Grand Am and it was A PAIN! Just make sure that you really really really want to replace those speakers, because it's a bit of a fight to get it done. You literally have to remove all of the panels from inside the back seat area, but FIRST you have to remove the back seat altogether! Once you get the seat out, the rest starts to form a picture of itself in the mind, because you can see all of the screws (finally) and kind of get a picture of what comes next. As the answer below states, you will have to remove the rear window sill to get at the screws; Just keep in mind that the window 'sill' cover is in NO WAY accessible until the ENTIRE back seat COMES OUT! Good Luck!
* Some speakers have a spring clip holding them and some have screws which means if they are screwed down you can tell by looking inside the trunk you will have to remove the cover in your rear window sill to access the screws. The front speakers require removing the door panels to access them.
Is there a serpentine belt tensioner on the 1993 lebaron 3 liter v6?
Well, there's a tensioner pole involved in the main belt, if that's what you ask; you can easily locate it as the pole that pushes down the belt on the top of the system, nearest to you that the alternator pole if you are seeing the car at front. If the tensioner pole is damaged, every new belt you replace will be destroyed by the engine in days. If I didn't answer you well or you have any more questions, please feel free to write at alg11@televicable.net.mx
What is the price of a water pump for a 2000 Pontiac grand am?
When I replaced mine a few months ago cost me about 40 bucks or so. Put it in myself. Got thbe pump from Autozone. I think they had lower quality cheaper ones but now you have a number.
How does the power steering pump work in a 1991 Jaguar XJ6?
It is driven by a gear off the backside of the distributor housing, with fluid remotely fed by a tank located on the right fender. Low pressure fluid (ATF recommended) runs from the reservoir to the pump, high pressure from the pump to the rack, then the spent fluid now low pressure again to the cooler located on the left side of the radiator, and then up from the bottom of the cooler to the reservoir. Inside of the pump is pretty much unserviceable, and is built similarly to a A/C compressor, with a series of plates and holes that move fluid at alternating rates from front to back to build pressure.

How do you reset the anti-theft system on a 97 Pontiac Grand Am SE?
you can reset the theft system by placing your key in the ignition and turning it forward until the power comes on. The theft light will start blinking, do not attempt to start the car until the light has stopped blinking. this takes 10 minutes. It's a pain if you are waiting in a parking lot in the middle of winter but it beats taking a cab home.
If you are unsure if you theft system has been trigger the symptom is that your gas is shut off as soon as you start the car so your car will start but only for a second. This seems to be a problem with people installing auto-start systems. I have yet to find a way to bypass this system altogether.
Answeri have by passed the anti theft with my auto start by placeing a blank key in the ignition i learned this some time ago when this happened to me it works try it i also get the blank with the black head that way noone sees and my car starts in - 40it may be your egr flow that's connected to your egr valve. my car has that problem right now! its a Honda 98 accord v6.

How do you replace a headlight bulb in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am?
I took this from another answer to the Grand AM 2002 GT and added text, because there were some missing items. I just performed this, so it is a tested procedure... Changing A Headlight Bulb On A 2002 Pontiac Grand Am 2002 Things Needed: Hammer with a nail puller and pliers Patience and A Good Sense of Humor Things To Know: The Plastic Parts Are Cheap And Break Easily Buy the replacement plastic retaining clips you will probably break them when you remove them 1) First step is to pull out the 3 cheap plastic retainer clips from the plastic retainer sheet. Example for the DRIVERs side The first one is the right-most black plastic pin The second one is to the right of the Notice sign (not to lift the car by the oil pan) The 3rd one is left of the left headlight adjuster (it is also the right-most pin that holds the grill in place) Use the nail puller end of the hammer the grip and pull them out. They don't come out easily. (You might need to work them up a little by hand so you can get a good grip with the hammer.) After you remove these you can pull up the long black plastic piece. Underneath of this you will find the 2 metal clips which retain the headlamp assembly in place. 2) Next you have to pull up the TWO metal clips which retain the headlamp assembly in place. BOTH of these clips MUST be pulled up completely or you will damage the headlight housing which costs almost $170 retail to replace!!!!! The nail puller on the hammer will also come in handy. Actually, we ended up using a wrench the grab and pull it up. BE PATIENT! This is a pain. I spent about 45 minutes of gentle nudging to get these things to lift. 3) Once the TWO clips have been pulled up, the entire headlamp can be removed. This is done by pulling the headlamp forward away from the body of the car. It actually lifts out fairly easily, but be warned: there are little plastic parts that can break when you pull it out. Do this gently! 4) Once you pull the assembly out, you will see the place where the bulb fits in. To release the bulb, there is a wide black plastic (of course) ring which you must turn counterclockwise (to the right) 1/6th of the way around. After turning it, gently pull the bulb out. It comes out easier if you lift up the little blue tabs (holding it into the socket) as you pull it free. 5) Now, with gloves on your hand, put the new bulb in. (You have to keep Halogen Bulbs from coming into contact with any oils which might be on your skin.) Once the bulb is replaced, slide it back into the headlamp assembly. After this, turn the thick black plastic ring clockwise back to rest in its' original position. This locks the bulb securely into place. Now, just put everything back together. If you need to use duct tape, it's ok. It comes in handy when working with cheap plastic parts that break. The only problem that we found was getting that darn metal clip to go back down all of the way. We couldn't figure it out on the left side and we still couldn't get it to work on the right. Just push/hammer it down as best as you can and push the big black piece of plastic back down over it.
For no. 2 when you are pulling the metal clips out if you grab the top with pliers and push the clip away from you with a screwdriver in your other hand it comes right out. The right most clip didn't come all the way out but it doesn't need to in order to pull the light assembly forward.
Found this direct quote from another person experiencing the same "turn signal noise" that seems to be infamous with the grand am. Now depending on your car model the location of this box might be different but now that you know what you are looking for maybe it will help you.
"The fix for this is easy and free. The problem is caused by contaminated grease which has bridged contacts of the multifunction switch. This cause a short circuit which cause the hazard flasher to cycle. You need a #25 torx and a # 10 torx. Remove the 3 #25 torx screws which hold plastic surrounding the steering column. Remove the plastic. Remove the 25 torx screw on the top of the multi function switch. Detatch the wiring connectors. Remove the multifunction switch. Use the #10 torx to remove all the #10 torx screws. Remove the cover and clean the grease off the contacts and copper switch plate. You will notice grease has bridged the some of the slots in switch plate. Clean it up and regrease. reverse steps to reinstall. Notice the metal peice protruding from the multi function as it facing you. This is the turn signal reset switch. When you turn this is what resets the turn signal when the wheels straighten. This needs to be pushed in so no more than 1/8 " is protruding. If you don't do this before reinstalling your horn may go off when ever you move the steering wheel after reinstallation. This whole job should take 20- 45 minutes based on your mechanical apptitude."
Where is the thermostat in the Pontiac Grand Am gt?
the thermostat is right under your throttle body and it is
difficult to get to
you have a bad ignition switch
OR, the wiring behind the headlight switch assembly might be bad, the harness can have warped or cracked and/or the wires may have come loose or otherwise lost their connection. Inspecting the wiring for the headlight switch would be the first step if it only occurs when you want the headlights or parking lights on, and the headlamps work but not the gauge cluster lights nor the tail lights, BUT, the brake lights still work.
you need a new ignition control module
Battery or starter. check your battery cables -especially your ground- if they're bad, no juice. I have a 1987 300zx that is having this same problem. Someone suggested that it might have something to do with a switch in the clutch that will prevent it from starting without the clutch pushed in, so is it possible that the switch might be faulty? Is there a way to check or bypass it to rule that out before spending the cash to get a mechanic to replace the starter? There could be air in the gas lines. Bleed the gas lines out. Here's an even easier one: Open up and re-close the rear hatch. If the car senses that the rear hatch is "adjar", you'll get exactly that symptom (it happened to me!) :-) the same thing happened to me with my car you might wanna replace the ECU because if your not getting any noise then your ECU is not sending a signal to the engine
What does the ignition module do?
