How do you change transmission oil and filter in 2002 Pontiac grand prix?

transmissions in newer pontiacs are considered to be "non-servicable." meaning you shouldn't have to change the tranny fluid/filter. before finding this info out, i changed the tranny fluid/filter in my 01 grand am and it didn't make a bit of difference.

2002 grand prix getting poor gas mileage?

There are many reasons that your GP could be getting poor gas mileage. You have to start with regular maintenance items and go from there: 1. What condition is your Air Filter in?(It should be clean enough to see light through it) 2. Have you used fuel injector cleaner or had your injectors cleaned by someone? 3. How old are your spark plugs? (If you don't know--replace them) 4. Do your tires have proper inflation? (they can be low but look fine) These are some of the primary things you need to take care of. If all of these are taken care of then you may have bad Oxygen sensors. They degrade over time but still reduce emissions enough and work well enough to pass emissions tests and NOT light the SES light. But they DO cause bad gas mileage even when you don't get any other symptoms. I've had O2 sensors go bad at 40k miles. The only real way to tell if that is the problem is replace them. The dealer and most mechanics can't or won't tell you they are causing the problem.

Where are the oxygen sensors on a 1997 Grand Prix GT?

The front O2 Sensor is on the rear exhuast manifold. If you take off the heat shield, it will be near the #6 spark plug and the tranny dipstick. there is a wire sticking out from the top. The rear O2 sensor is underneath the car, after the catalitic converter. On GTPs, it is standing straight up on the "u-bend". Im pretty sure GTs are the same, since they both have basically the same engine (3800 Series II).

What other transmissions fit a 2002 grand prix gt?

How do you replace MAF sensor on 1999 Pontiac grand prix?

I've replaced the MAF sensor on my 1999 Gran Prix with a 3800 engine. The maf sensor is located on the top of the air intake of the engine. It has one electrical connection on it. I was able to find one at the local salvage yard for ~ $40 USD. A new one was close to $200. You'll need to purchase a special "secure" torx 20 bit to remove the "secure" bolts that hold on the MAF sensor. The "secure" bolt has a torx fitting, but a small shaft in the middle that requires the special torx bit to accomodate. Once you've found the right tool, it should be simple remove the bolts, disconnect the electical plug, and plug the new one in. You should also disconnect the battery for several minutes before first starting the car. This should cause the engine's computer to recalibrate using the new MAF sensor's inputs.

Where is transmission dipstick on 2000 Sunfire gt?

I believe by the 2000 model year, GM was not using dipsticks anymore. If you look on the top of the transmission, you should see a red cap...at least I think they were red. This is the trans fill plug. They basically went on the theory that the trans is good to 100,000 thousand miles so no fluid change is necessary. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to do away with dipstick also. The dipstick is a special tool sent only to the dealerships...and I'm sure aftermarket shops can get their hands on them too. So a shop, or the dealer will be able to check it for you.

Are both windshield wipers on one motor in a 2003 Pontiac grand prix?

How do you change the tail light lens cover in a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix GT?

You can't change the "cover" as it is part of the entire taillight housing assembly. The "covers" do tend to separate over time from the rest of the light and allow water to get into the housing and generally look ugly. All that you can do is clean the parts really well, I bake the entire tail light in the oven at the lowest temperature setting for 2 or 3 hours to get rid of any residual water, then seal the joint where the outer cover meets the rest of the housing. Google "grand prix taillight" and you'll see thousands of people in the same boat. The real solution is to buy a new one, they are available for $95-120 from eBay and others. Used ones tend to be in the same condition as yours, the perfect used one is a rarity. I have fixed mine 3 times now and just bought 2 new ones because i can't spend any more time fixing them!

How do you tighten windshield wipers on a 1997 Pontiac grand prix gt?

Try looking at the bottom of the wiper arms. There is probably a cover that either opens or pops off. There is usually like a 15mm size nut that is there. Tighten this nut. Hope this helps.

Alright i think i might know what your problem is i just had a similar problem with my 95 explorer and my problem was that the blades just didnt clear the whole window and it was just driving me crazy what i think your problem is the your blade arms have no spring left in them and the arms need to be replaced if you dont replace the arms it does not matter how good your blades are they will not work without replacing the arms i dont really think your just going to be able to tighten anything up and fix the problem its going to cost about 75 bucks for the arms and your wipers will work like you just bought the car
