Where is the thermostat located on a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix?

There is none in a 97 gtp. But if u have a different model look at the D.I.C. (driver info center near the ac vents in the dash) There is a thermostat in the 97 grand prix I just changed mine! Remove the engine cover then look right in front and below the throttle body. Hint- follow the hose from the radiator. It inserts into the engine block right in front of the throttle body. There is a brass screw right on top in the middle. BG
passenger side rear of the engine below the exhaust manifold.about a 3.8 hour job at the shop.

What would cause the cooling fans to stop working on a 1990 Cadillac Deville I changed the thermostat cause it was overheating now the fans don't work I can't afford to pay 80 an hour to my mechanic?

Blown fuse, bad thermal relay, bad fan motor, or bad wiring.

Try the fan relay switch if your fuse is not blown.

(second author) Another author hot wired their fan to check if fan(s) was still good.

Sounds like your fans did not move before and after you changed the thermostat (so you should have not written the word "now")? If just later, and because you may have accidentally messed with conductors when you changed the thermostat, then wiggle or clean your connections and possibly do a continuity check.

Depending on the year of the car, possibly near the battery there are a few relays (and maybe one by the fuse box inside the car or by the glove compartment). Lightly tap on them as they may be stuck. Worked for me for a stuck radiator cooling fan, as one was stuck on but that was stuck on not off as in your case so may not work the same.

How much labor to change a thermostat on 2004 grand prix?

You can do it yourself in about 20 minutes or less. Just remove the plastic engine cover and trace the top water hose from the radiator back to the thermostat housing. Use a 10mm socket to remove the two bolts holding the metal housing. Pull out old thermostat and replace with new one (no gasket required). Make sure the rubber ring that comes with the new thermostat is seated properly in the outside groove. Replace housing and engine cover. You're done!

Where is the power steering reservoir on a 97 grand prix?

The reservoir is mounted directly on the pump, which is directly below the alternator. You can see it if you look closely below the alternator. You will see the reservoir cap, it is a little tight to get to, and to fill it you will probably need a funnel.

How do you know a right outer tie rod end is bad on a 2000 olsdmobile intrigue and if bad is this dangerous to drive?

When a tie rod end goes bad it just means that it has a lot of wear and is loose. It is not unsafe to drive unless it is broken or missing pieces. You can see how bad it is by trying to move it bt hand. If it is out of the car and the rod end will move freely based on position then it needs replaced.

As far as driving the vehicle, the steering will be sloppy nad there will be greater tire wear over the long term but it can still be driven.

What size speakers does a 2001 Tacoma?

I was at Best Buy 3-11-08 looking for new speaker ideas and their store computer shows 2001 Tacmoa speakers being 5x7. Hope this helps.

Perhaps that's because they only sell 5"x7" and not 6"x8"(2001 Tacoma factory door speaker) or maybe they just don't advertise it. That extra 2 inches can make a big difference in the sound quality. I'd also recommend replacing the factory tweeter with a reliable, good name brand. Made a huge difference for me. I'd suggest Amazon for a broad selection, affordable prices, and many are shipped free:)

shift lock is malfunctioning. you can bypass it there is a little "switch" on the side of your shifter for this purpose. that should help temporarily i believe there is a sensor to tell it when to shift out of park and that when this malfunctions you're stuck in park

How to change front turn signal lamp on a 92 Volvo 940?

The lamp just slips in and is held in place with a wee plastic clip. Look behind the light unit from inside the engine compartment and you'll see the clip, lift it up by using a screwdriver and the lamp just pulls out, I changed both of mine in five minutes.

How do you replace a 2002 Isuzu Trooper headlamp?

This is the same answer I found athttp://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_change_the_headlight_on_a_1998_Isuzu_Trooper and it worked for me. The important thing is that you realize that even though you press on the white plastic tab, you usually need a screwdriver to pry out or release the old bulb. I didn't "press up on the black tab", but I pressed down on the black tab by inserting the screw driver from the bulb side and pried the white assembly up and away from the bulb base. Once they separated, the bulb fell right out. There is not much room to operate on the battery side of the hood.

1) Open the hood. You replace the lamp from the inside. DON'T start unscrewing the headlight from the outside. There is not a lot of room to work with so it helps to have small hands. Make sure you have plenty of light as well. You will also need a small flat bladed screwdriver

2) There is a white plastic locking ring that holds the bulb assembly inside the headlight. Reach in and unscrew it. The assembly should now come out of the headlight.

3) This is the hard part. Look for a white plastic tab on the assembly. Theroretically you should be able to press down on the part of the tab closest to the base (where the wires come out) but you will need some extra help with from the screwdriver. Press down on the tab hard with your thumb and insert the screwdriver into the exposed slot closest to the base. Pry out the old bulb with the screwdriver by pressing up on the black tab that is part of the bulb base. Be careful not to lose the locking ring. The bulb is the only thing holding it in.

4) Put the new bulb into the locking ring.

5) Plug the bulb and ring into the assembly WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BULB!!

6) Insert back into the headlight and screw the locking ring back in place.

What size speakers fit 2003 f250?

Most ford pickups take the round 6" kind. But for better help, log into one of the bigger stores for electronics that install speakers, and go through the self help wizard which will find the speakers for your specific vehicle. Good Luck.

Does a 2002 Toyota Celica GT have a governor and if so when does it kick in?

No car today has a governor. RPM is computer controlled. The RPM on the Celica is controlled at the red line spec for the engine. Speed has nothing to do with the computer control--it is the RPM.
