first take out the brake pump out, then from inside the car, you will have to loose 4 bolts that hold the booster, and a pin with a clip that attach the pedal to the booster

The fuel pump relay is under the dash by the fuse box. They have been an issue with the CRX's for a long time. I have actually replaced ours twice this year in one that we race. Yes the fuel pump is in the tank but try the relay first. 9 times out of ten its the relay.

no not when I tried it on my 88 std. found a crx front bumper w/ oem lip at junkyard (unknown model year) will not line up

Unfortunately no. Even the higher LX, EX and Si trims were non-vtec in 1990. Here in the US market, the first models to feature vtec were the 91 NSX, the 91 Integra GSR, and the 92 Civic Si. In Japan, there was a 1990 Civic that had vtec, the Civic SiR and Civic Special Edition. In Some other markets there was a similar model, the Vti/Vti-R.

its real easy. The only thing is that the bolts are normally rusty which will make it a bit hard to take off. But first u just start at the mid-pipe(the middle of the car) you will see nuts and bolts that you can take off. Just unscrew them. You will see nuts and bolts throughout the exhaust that you unscrew off. Then take ur stock exhaust off and put on the new exhaust while replacing the bolts. Its that easy.

The coil and distributor are one unit, there for, no coil wire. Yes it is a sealed unit and has to be replaced as one.

turn on engine.Have handbrake on.Undo catches above doors.Press roof button.Windows should go down and boot comes up.when beeping changes remove finger from button and undo roof lever.then press button again and roof should go into boot cavityy.when boot goes down each time remove finger off button and replace until boot closes.

The fuel filter on a Honda CR-V is not a serviceable item. There should not be a reason for failure, unlike most vehicles.

Alot of the parts from the 1989 Honda Civic DX are interchangeable. Most of the engine, the dash cluster, and the exhaust are all interchangeable. Things that are not interchangeable between the two include side view mirros, doors, and any windows. The hatches are not interchangeable either. If i remember right, the hood is though. Along with CV joints and Struts, most use the same windshield wiper sizes and have about the same size door panels.

Your will have to loosen up the alternator, and take off the alternator belt from around the crankshaft pulley. To get the crankshaft pulley bolt off, you will have to use in impact wrench on it. Should be on the driver side of the car. Also it is a regular threaded bolt. The torque on it from the factory is around 115lb/ft. You will need a 17mm Impact socket and a good impact wrench. It will not break loose easily if there is rust on it like most that are 20 years old. Even with penetrating oil it will not be an easy job. Use care when working with the crankshaft pulley as it is old and will crack easily as well.

Some fans are made to only turn on when the temp reaches a certain point. Have you run your engine up to temp and let it idle and see if the fan kicks on after a certain time? Keep your hands clear. Has your engine been running hot or did you jsut look in and NOT see your fan turning? If your engine is running hot AND your fan is NOT coming on then the temp sensor for the fan may be bad.

the repair manual for 88 91 civic/crx specifies engine oil depending on the operating temperature range, 10w 30 will work, id recomend Honda transmission fluid as i have used both and this one provides a smoother shift.

its a pain - you have to switch interior dash harness motor harness and ecu...not worth the trouble

basically just remove the rear wheels, spray wd-40 on the wheel studs. then start hitting the drum with a hammer (be careful not to damage wheel studs) to brake loose the rust. after a couple of good whacks start hitting the drum from behind and it should pop right off..

The correct way to remove the drum is to remove the wheel, and then, you will see two small holes in the drum. You need to find a bolt that is a couple inches long that fits the threads in these holes. I do not remember the bolt size or thread patter. You then tighten the bolts into those two holes and they will evenly push the drum off of the hub. Normally hammering on the drum will loosen it up enough to remove, but you must be careful. If it is really stuck you must use the bolts.

88-91 Civic and CRx main relay untis are generally located under the left corner of the dash next to the coin holder. If you remove the fuse cover and then the 3 screws holding the holder you can see and feel the relay on your left. You may need to take the hood release off to do the change out. Thank you.

Check to see if you are using the correct key, the 2002 Nissan Xterra has a chip in the key, but it also comes with a valet key. If the valet key accidentally gets placed in the ignition it will not crank, on some vehicles it completely shuts the vehicle down and you have to get it towed into the dealership, try using the other key that came with your vehicle.
