Was Iraq in Persia?

Iraq was one of several regions that came under the historic control of Persia on different occasions. However, these regions were never called "Persia". Iraq generally went by the name "Mesopotamia".

The historic country of Persia is properly identified with the modern Islamic Republic of Iran, which is its successor-state (post-revolution).

What was Iraq and Iran before?

Your question is not very clear. I assume you mean to ask about what other names these two territories have been known by throughout history. Iraq has always been known as "Iraq" in Arabic (we're talking at least 1500 years, probably more). In European languages, however, the area was usually known as MESOPOTAMIA. In the Bible, I suppose the terms BABYLONIA or CHALDEA are used to refer to Iraq (or at least the southern half of it. The northern part would be ASSYRIA). Iranians maintain that their land has always been called "Iran" in their native language as well. However, most other people used the term PERSIA. Today, PERSIA (or "Fars", to use the local pronunciation), is merely one province in southwestern Iran.

Why are women abused in Iraq?

Answer 1

My, My, women are abused everywhere, you can't stop that until morality is given some importance over law. In Iraq they are subdued, oppressed and in the U.S. the system tells them to shed clothes and experiment all sorts of sexual stuff. Only the ways change. Iraqis see all porn movies being made in US and might think there are only prostitutes here.

Answer 2

Western countries have a number of legal protections and laws that allow women to actively pursue their abusers in court. Additionally, the government often sees it as a proper burden to pursue criminal charges against those who abuse women. Both these laws and this mentality are not present in Iraq. Women are supposed to be loyal to their husbands, regardless of their conduct. There is also the implicit view in Iraq that a woman is guilty for any abuse that happens to her, i.e. she enticed the abuser to violate her person. As a result, there is an incredible amount of shame that manifests in admitting to abuse. In addition to the shame being a personal issue, it also affects the remainder of the family, leading to possible disownment and, sometimes, honor killings. It is for these reasons that abuse in Iraq is far more prevalent and far more underreported than in Western countries.

Is the Iraqi people and the Iranian people descendants of Adam and Eve?

If you believe that Adam and Eve were the first, then the answer should be yes. A priest/rabbi/witch doctor/etc might believe differently. If you approach it with a scientific mind set that perhaps they were real people (not necessarily the first) from the middle eastern area, from anywhere around 2000 B.C. or further back, and were able to populate well, then there genetics stand a very good chance of being many many different peoples ancestors, but more probably would be the area near where they inhabited. But that's all subjective, and more of a matter of opinion. If I asked you are the Greeks decedents of Zeus and Hera, how might you think to respond?
