No, only properly equipped four wheel drives with a Neutral position in the transfer case.
How do you remove tail light assembly in 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
First you have to remove the light cluster that has the marker lights and such. I just went through this so I had to find it all the hard way. The local Ford dealer was no help at all. To remove the cluster there are two mounting bolts that go through the metal subframe. Theay are about 8 inches apart and really hard to see. But, take the nut off of the both of those and the light cluster comes right out. Then, you should be able to see the headlight assy and see how to remove it.

What does engine light on 2006 Grand Cherokee mean?
It Normally will signify something that is more serious, opposed to something minor, the most common reasons are either low oil pressure or low oil level.
It could be as simple as the viscosity of the oil does not match what the manufacturer requires for the engine. My limited 5.7 hemi requires 5/20; there is a sensor that will trigger the oil light to come on if it detects a different weight. However, the best thing to do is to take it to the dealer, and let them read the code.

How many quarts do you use for an oil change on a 1998 jeep Grand Cherokee Limited?

Where is the governor pressure sensor on a 2001 jeep grand Cherokee?
The MAP (Manifold Absolute Presssure) sensor is located under the throttle body and will have an electrical connection as well as a vacuum line going to it. If you follow the air tube from your air filter box to the top of your engine the throttle body lives under there and removing the plastic nut where the air tube terminates will allow you to see the throttle body and the other associated parts. Go to a parts store and ask to see a Map Sensor for your specific engine and you will then be able to immediately identify the thing on your engine.
The exact location of the MAP sensor is slightly different depending on the engine that your Jeep has. More Detailed Question = Better Answer.
I follow every question I answer so if you have a further question please ask and I'll do my best to help.
How do you change the light bulb for the gear shift indicator in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The shifter lights in the 1999 Grand Cherokee is not a light bulb, but rather a thin EL panel.
There are two parts to it, a voltage resistor, and the EL panel itself.
You need to remove the console first. There are 2 screws under the front rubber pad, two under the cup holder, two in the bin. Remove those six first, take the storage bin out, then slide the rear cupholder out, remove the two screws under the cup holder, and one in front of it.
There are a total of 6 flat screws, and 3 self tapping screws you have removed.
Put the parking brake on, shift the tranny to N, and the transfer case to the middle position if equipped.
Remove the entire console. Slide the shifter beezel as far up vertically as you can. There are 4 clips you ned to remove to do it.
You will see a blue and black wire running into the back. Follow those wires to the resistor. You will see a transparent EL panel attached to the resistor by two clips.
Usually, one or both of these clips has come loose, causing the light to work intermittantly. Clip them back on, and turn on the headlights to confirm that the light works correctly now.
Re-install everything in the opposite order.
How do you change a water pump on 1999 grand Cherokee with 4.0 6 cylinder?
if it is like a 97 there are just 2 hoses and 3 bolts to remove. if you are replacing the pulley with a new one dont worry about removing the old pulley. if you are trying to use the old pulley i'd be very carefull on how you try to remove it. It is a plastic pulley with a aluminum hub and the grip ring that the puller fits in breaks off very easily. I would suggest having a dealer shop remove it for you but i'd bet you would want to replace it anyway due to heat weakening the plastic and it breaking on you going down the road like mine did.
just use the holes in the pulley to slip your socket through and remove the 3 bolts and it pops right off. good luck with it hope this has helped

What is the correct tire size for a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic?
The factory had 2 possible tire sizes:
215/75R15 and 225/75R15
The largest ive seen without any rubbing (also the size i run on mine) are 235/75R15s
USE CAUTION WHEN DEVIATING FROM MAN SUGGESTED TIRE SIZE! I was in the tire business for several years, we saw A LOT of Jeeps come in with the wrong size tires on, and several of them had problems with the transfer case. It seemed that the Grand Cherokee was more prone to those issues, but several standard Cherokee's had the same problems.

Where is the fuse box on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Laredo?
If the pioneer is like my 1988 Jeep Cherokee limited, the fuse box is hidden from view above the break pedal and to the left. You have to open the driver's door and kneel on the pavement to see it.
Where is the fuel pump reset button located on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
This vehicle doesn't have a fuel reset button. If your fuel pump doesn't produce pressure, you may have a blown fuse (in the fuse box under the hood), a relay failure (same place) or a failing fuel pump. If your little SUV has more than 80k, and has been consistantly driven a great deal of TIME (not distance) with less than 1/4 tank of fule, suspect the pump failure. The pump is in the tank for a variety of reasons, the formost of which is that the fuel in the tank is used to cool the pump. If there is no MASS of fuel to absorb the heat, then the pump overheats, and will ultimately fail prematurely. If this is the case, the tank will have to come out, and if it is full, will be awkward to handle. Some pump modules are available at the parts stores, while others must come from the dealer, and can be as much as $500.00 for the parts alone. Labor compounds the expense of shop repair.
How do you install a front bumper on a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo?
On most vehicles the bumper is attached with about 8 bolts - 4 on either end. You may need to remove a couple of exterior trim pieces as well to give yourself some room and maneuverability. When you decide to remove the bumper, GET SOME HELP - they tend to be quite heavy.
Are 1994 Jeep Cherokee parts interchangeable with 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Some parts yes, some parts no. It depends on if the engine is same size or not. almost anything jeep is interchangeable with jeep. The axles will for sure swap. if engine is the same size the tranny and tcase should also. My 91 Cherokee has front bucket seats out of a later grand. Jeep is kinda like Lego you can try putting anything from one vehicle to another and chances are its going to fit.
Engine size is irrelevant unless you are looking at engine parts. They used the same transmissions and transfer cases. All other parts are dependent on trim levels and options of the vehicle. Some parts are a simple swap, where others would require otherparts to be retrofit to make that one part fit. I would advise picking up a good service book such as the haynes before you do any work, as it lists what years are based off similar chassis and will tell you how to remove and replace said parts.

What are ways that you can turn off your check engine light?
You can try disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5 minutes. If that does not work then you will have to use a scan tool to reset the light. Know that if you do not repair the problem that caused the light to come on, it will just come right back on.

How do you change the headlight lens assembly on 1996 Dodge Ram 1500?
i have a 96 dodge ram van 2500. I lift the hood up and right above the 2 adjusting screws that adjust the beam, or better yet, ontop of the head light lens you will see 2 clips ( they lock those 2 adjusting screws in place) and are actually holding your head light assembly in place. Pull those clips up, dont pull them out, just enough to release those 2 screws that are holding you lens assembly in place.....good luck
Where are fuses on 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The fusible link on the 93 is in the hot wire running from your positive battery terminal to the starter. It's a piece of wire that runs inside the actual wire that will burn up if the system gets too hot or overloaded.
