How do you replace the heater core in a 86 Lincoln mark 7?

You have to drop the steering column and pull the dash. Then after locating the heater core case below windshield you have to cut out a piece with a Dremel. After replacing the heater core you have fun putting everything back together..(use plastic weld to seal the case back up).in other words don't do it yourself it is a huge pain.

How do you take off the motor mount on Toyota corolla 2004?

there are tree engine mounts im going to take a guess and say it is tha one closer to the lower part of radiator you will need a floor jack a square piece of wood to protect your aluminum oil pan im trying to remember the size of the bolts i think the top youll need a 17 mm deep socket a long extension 14 18 inches long a wratchet pref 1/2 drive remove the top bolt of motor mount wd40 make job a bit easier. nut is expost to water and heat all the tim after nut is off get floor jack with the wood between the jack and a flat part of pan do not let metal pad from jack touch oil pan just the wood jack up very slowly the upper bracket mounted will start to lift off the mount. now not knowing what engine you have i will tell you both types of mounting for 2 different types. hold you new mount in hand does it have a stud(bolt) on top and bottom if oit does slide under car a lokk where motor mount is located on bottom frame when you find this spot there will be a oval plastic cap you need to pop out of frame rail very easy and thin plastic now look up in the hole and you will see the bottom stud and nut remove nut usually the same size as top now look down a mount from top and jack motor just high enough to snake the mount out pay attention the way the mount comes becuse ther is a top and bottom. pay attention to alignment pins that they seat correctly. remember alum cracks very easy when pushed the wrong way. take new mount instal stud in bottom then lower engine slowly but not all the wat give reme to put pin and stud on upper mount you might have to wiiggle engine by hand to get back in once its in lower jack mount upper and lower nuts fairly tight is ok put plastic access cover back in this keep water fom sitting a rotting frame rail the othe type of mount uses 2 14mm bolt from the top i hope this helps you email is ok g

Why when my Abs brakes get warm on a 86 Mark the the steering wheel shakes?

Sounds like your rotors need to be turned (replaced if necessary). Does the shake happen worse when braking at higher speeds? Id recommend you pull the rotors off and check for variances in thickness with a proper guage, get them turned, and go from there.

AnswerI agree. Sounds like the rotors are warpped.

I've had this problem and it turned out it was a bad caliper Do any of the wheels smoke when you stop ? Do you have a strong smell from any of the wheels? I would check to see if any of the wheels are locked up or rotate harder than should be.

How do you remove top starter bolt 91 Lincoln Mark VII?

Try this: you will need a very long (or several short extensions) for a 3/8 drive rachet
and a 6 point swivel socket( NOT a socket & swivel put together)
pass the socket & extension thru the side motormount along the block coming from the
front. You will literally have to reach up & get the socket on the bolt head by feel.
be sure it's on correctly- rounding off the head would be a disaster.
Also, the small crossmember needs to be undone & swung out of the way.
starter needs to be tipped on end to remove- it's a tight fit.
I've done mine twice.

I think the flat rate book gives well under an hour labor like.6 or so.
better figure on twice that with home tools and conditions

hope this helps

How do you repair the rear air bag suspension on a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII?

the 88 may be one of the years that after market Taurus struts will fit in with a conversion package to replace the air bag suspension entirely. The alternative is dealer item only, and very very expensive.

I agree that this system can be expensive BUT: Bagmasters, American Air suspension, Arnott Ind. and Strutmasters all have replacement parts for much less than the dealers. Take a look here -> http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/tech.html <- for all the info you could possibly want.

I agree. Go to strutmasters.com, Its cheap either way (bags or springs)and you get instructions with any thing you buy. I have put springs all around on My 1989 Mark VII and trust me its easy, while your down there you might want to go ahead and replace struts and shocks.

How do you charge the oil on a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII?

your should know betterok. depends on the engine but most like not. On a 302 5.0 liter you take off the oil filter located on the drivers side of engine. Then take out the oil pan drain bolts on the oil pan. Sometime there are two, one on the front of the engine and on back bottom. Let oil drain until no more comes out. Then replace the oil filter with a new one. Then repace oil pan bolts. Now add new motor oil. ta ta that's it.

p.s. I might be a lot easier and less troblesome to just take it to a walmart or whatever is available and have a certified mechanic take care of that for you.

A 1987 Lincoln Mark VII ran out of gas and now won't start possibly air locked How do you bleed the fuel value and re-prime the fuel system?

Answerfirst cycle the key on and off a few times, these cars have a "return" style fuel system and cycling the key will repededly turn the fuel pump on and send fuel to the injectors if it still won't start try:

Shoot a little starting fluid into the air intake and try to start it. Sometimes it just takes a little extra to get the fuel to flow.

ADDED 04-25-06 by Guycaron: Also, consider the possibility that residue at the bottom of your fuel tank has clogged the fuel filter.

or the fuel strainer on the in tank pump, or burnt the pump out, but i know when my mark ran out of gas it took almost 3 gallons to get it back going

Why when I turn on the headlights of my 90 mark 7 the fuel gauge and tach stop working?

Its a bad ground, but its easy to fix. By the fuse block/hood open latch (in side the car) there is a bundle of wire, find the light blue wire, cut it and connect each end to the car body. I did mine and it works. But quarter tank is now empty, rpm guage is fine... Hey check out www.lincolnsonline.com and go to the tech part, and see "dash ground fix" that's how i learned this very helpfull tip.

How do you repair your Lincoln mark vii sunroof it just stopped working?

Check all your fuses first Then I would check for power at switch with a test light With key on you should have power on one side of switch .If you have power going in next step is to check with switch activated you should have power out . If you have power in and out of switch chances are motor is bad but you should check for power at motor also.Hope this helps.

Thermostat location on 1997 Lincoln Mark vIII?

Answer

On 1998, 4.6 32 valve engines, the thermostat is located in the radiator to block hose. if you look directly under the power steering reservoir you should see it.

The thermostat has 3 hoses running from it. 2 are approx. 1.5" in dia. and one is approx .750" in dia. The .750" hose leads up to the coolant reservoir. and yes it is under the power steering reservoir. Access to the thermostat is from the bottom side. You will need an 8mm socket to remove the two bolts. Removal of the bottom radiator hose is mandatory.

Why does alarm sound for no reason on a 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII?

my '94 Lincoln would do that if i had raised the hood but not shut it all the way down; after about 2-5 minutes, alarm went off after i had locked up the car, but hood was not shut

Try lowerin the panel mounted in the trunk, and turning down the sensativity on the unit located on the left, as you look into the trunk. Worked for me. Good luck.

Answertake the positive battery terminal wire off and wait about 30 min. this should reset the alarm. AnswerOnce on my Lincoln my alarm kept sounding off for no apparent reason at all, what I did to solve the problem was to spray my inside door latches with WD-40. When you lock the doors and the lock sometimes pop up, you may need to lubricate the door lock latches.

The electronics on the Mark VIII are extensive and they tend to get screwy after however many years you've had the car. I had the same problem, except mine was that any time I'd lock the car, the alarm would go off at random. I went to Car Tunes and had the wire grounded and the alarm system disabled. The green light still flashes, but it doesn't go off at all.

Where is the air bag On-Off switch on a 2006 impala?

There is no on or off switch because the vehicle has more than one row of seats. It may have a sensor that shuts off the passenger side front airbag if the occupant is to short or does not weigh enough.
