You bought a Mazda 929 1992 and I'm getting no power to the stereo what could be the problem?

Try powering the stereo up with jumpers to a power source. If the stereo still won't work with direct power check to see if it might have a anti theft stereo. If no then replace the unit. If it works with jumpers then look for a break in the wire or a bad fuse. Easiest fix in this case would be to run a new wire from the fuse panel, (key on power) to the stereo. These cars are known for stereo problems, my daugher has an 1989 929 and the stereo dies for days and then works if someone turns it off by accident instead of just turning off the volume...

How do you disconnect the computer to adjust the basic timing on a 1992 Mazda 929?

You don,t disconnect the computer on any car to adjust base timing. That,s what runs the car, you disconnect spark advance and that varies according to make and model. Take note if your car does not have a distributer and it,s a coil pack you can not adjust base timing that is done by the computer only. If your car has a distributer I would contact a dealer or get a Chiltons manual on how to set base timing. I could not tell you how to disconnect the advance on your car not formilar with your distributer

How do you remove the stereo from a Mazda 929?

you just need a "DIN Radio Removal Tool" it looks like a tiny metal u-shaped wicket, that inserts into the small indents and pops the unit. that you can get in any Walmart store it cost around $4.00 dlls. maybe you'll need two set if your car has a radio and CD player.

What can happen to your car if you never change the brake pads and rotors?

Well, if you wait long enough you'll make a major mess of the braking system and possibly risk braking failure.

Nearly all pads have built-in wear indicators that make a squealing or screeching sound when the pads get too thin. If you don't have the pads changed they can wear down to the mountings, which will scrape nice deep grooves in the rotors. At that point you'll be looking at a full rebuild. That's big bucks.

Similarly, even if you change the pads, letting the rotors go too long will cause them to become "dished" as the surface wears away. As the rotors get thinner they'll heat up faster during stops which can cause a number of problems ranging from warping to brake fade. Again, if the rotors warp you'll be looking not only at replacing them but probably also having work done on the calipers, etc. due to uneven running.

Most but not all states require inspections at least once a year. Checking brakes should be part of the deal. If it's not, ask the tech guys to do a once-over. Believe me, it's not worth the potential savings to try to cut corners on one of the most important systems in your car.

Where can you find an air intake for a Mazda Protege?

an "AIR INTAKE" is only a tube which redirects the air filter location. to make your own "intake" you can follow the throttle body, (which where the air filter will follow) remove all of the inlet tube, air box and filter. you can customize a tube that will come from the throttle body, and route to a lower place than the old air filter allowing colder air to be vaccummed into the tb. This will cause a high a/f ratio allowing more hp to be allowed. DO NOT WASTE $200 on an aftermarket TUBE. its only an extended air filter. THATS IT

How do you replace the fuel filter located on a 1994 Mazda 929?

I don't know, but I may know where to look. www.alldata.com may be a good place. My local library has a subscription to this service, so for me, it was free. AND, I just went to my local Mazda dealership (Wednesday afternoon) for a fuel filter for my 1996 Protoge. The delaership printed a page from their computer based parts book which gives a detailed picture. Maybe your local dealership could do the same.....

Could someone please help how to set Ignition timing on 93 Mazda 929 3.0?

You need to set the base timing. That means you ground the No. 10 terminal in the diagnostic port to the ground terminal in the same port. The diagnostic port is just inside the driver's side fenderwell and has a plastic cover that will tilt up towards the engine with a squeeze and a pull. Usually you can see "DIAGNOSIS" imprinted right on the top.

The number ten terminal is the second terminal in from the right side on the top row (standing on the driver's side facing the engine; there are two sets of two) and the ground terminal is the leftmost in the second row down. A paper clip will do fine for this purpose.

Then, using a regular old-school timing light, check for your mark (a tiny line cut into the edge of the crank pulley) to be between 11 and 13 degrees BTDC (to the left of the "10" imprinted on the grey plastic timing best cover). If it isn't, loosen the adjusting bolt on the top of the distributor set the timing by rotating the distributor (to the right moves the mark to the right in vice-versa).

When you remove the jumper, the engine will find it's own timing on signals from the distributor and from the Crankshaft Position Sensor behind the crank pulley to the ECM.

How do you make a 1995 Subaru legacy stop overheating?

Make sure cooling fan is working

AnswerThere are three common problems for over heating. The thermostat is stuck in closed position and not circulating the coolant flow once the engine is warmed up. The water pump is not working properly and needs to be replaced. and lastly the radiator need a good flushing and coolant change. Try flushing the system and replacing the thermostat. Then see how the system runs after that. Hope this helps you. Brad. AnswerA fourth problem common in Subaru engines is a leaking head gasket where pressurized exhaust gasses enter the cooling system. A service center can test the coolant for traces of exhaust residue.

As the engine heats and cools, the system "breathes" through the radiator cap, typically holding the pressure in the engine to a max of ~15 pounds. The expanding water flows through the radiator cap into the reservoir when the engine heats up, and is sucked back in as the water cools. If exhaust gas is forced into the system, it gradually fills with air (sometimes only under a heavy load), causing more coolant and some air to vent into the reservoir. When enough coolant is expelled the reservoir overflows onto the ground. Eventually enough coolant leaks out (possibly over several trips) to cause a boil-over.

A common symptom may be a reservoir that seems to be constantly emptying itself with no sign of leaks (because the water leaks out mostly when you're driving). If it's really bad, you may see bubbles surfacing in the reservoir. Good Luck!

Answer

Another thing to look into is whether or not both cooling fans are running when it starts to get warm. i personally have a 95 Legacy doing the same thing. i noticed one fan was not running when the car was getting warm. when i ran power and ground directly to the fan it came on. this leaves the possibility of a bad relay, bad cooling temp sensor, or even a problem with the cars ECU. not as common of an issues as the others but still something simple to look into.

Setting timinig pattern on timing belt on Mazda 929?

I'm looking for the same thing. Everything I read says to buy the repair manual. I can see the arrow by the crankshaft and the the dots on the cam gears. Some have said, "Line up cam gears" but what do we line them up with? On some mazdas there is a line on the backing plate . . I don't find one on the 929. With you I am still looking for an answer . . .
