When you press on the accellerator, combustion gas creates more exhaust pressure. The rise in exhaust pressure increases the speed of the turbo, thereby increasing the intake pressure, which is the turbo boost. You will not be able to benefit from turbo boost until the turbo spins up. That's where the lag comes from. It's inherent in turbo systems. Ive only had one turbo car but I know it had an air pressure activated dump gate that would only allow turbo air pressure to enter the intake at a preset PSI. There were ways to increase ( bigger boost) or decrease (more power throughout driving range) the gate release point with rheastats or performance chips.

Sounds like head gasket have you over heated your car lately. It may be just steam but, if it is a head gasket, your coolant is leaking into the cylinders and then out your tailpipes. Antifreeze smokes good. A sure-fire way to check for the latter is to check your oil. If it looks like a milkshake or has milkshake-like residue on your dip-stick, it's a blown gasket.

Stupid idea. These catalyst systems are extremely strict about how pure the DEF must be. If it detects impurities in the DEF, it'll first derate, and eventually shut down, the engine. Then, the DEF tank, DEF doser, and all DEF lines will have to be removed and thoroughly cleaned out (in the case of the lines and the tank, they'll probably just be replaced outright). The DEF doser will have to be cleaned out and possibly replaced, then all that has to be reinstalled.

Not to be short with this answer; they all are best over the stock system. I looked at all their spec. and dyno readings. They are all about the same & priced high. After all the looking around. I just built my own twin system. With a cummins & straight out the back it really sounds different than all the others.

If its water and not antifreeze, Then that is called condensation, Its winter time and the exhaust system is cold and when heat flows through it, it starts to sweat.

To reduce noise and emissions and to create a back pressure to aid scavenging of the cylinders.

I would have to guess at the intake manifold gasket or head gasket. SOunds like the oil passes through one of these and into a cylinder, Especially if it is burning it. Be careful it doesn't go up in flames, oil will burn quite well.

It may be the valves, if so try cleaning them by adding chemtool in the gas tank or a higher octane fuel may quiet them down,- 94 geo prizm I did all of the above but also added 8 oz of maxi-lube which did the trick.

an exaust pipe causes compression to form more in the cylender which makes the bike go faster. if you didnt have a pipe on your bike, don't count on going anywhere. but it is possible to ride a dirt bike without a pipe, it just wont pressurize enough so your bike would break shortly

you put too much oil in, it is burning the oil.

Check engine light comes on when the computer detects a problem with the emmissions system. A code will be stored in the computer's memory, pointing to the fault. This could be nothing more than a loose gas cap. It can also mean a more serious problem. Have the computer scanned for trouble codes.

No. You can reset the computer by disconnecting the NEGATIVE battery cable for a minute or so, but the light will probably just come back on. You need to get a Ford code reader from your parts store (usually about $30). This will come with a manual describing how to retrieve the codes and figure out what the computer is complaining about. Then you must fix whatever is broken to keep the computer from storing codes and lighting the light.

Depends on what emissions standards it's compliant with. If you have an EPA2010 or Euro6 compliant engine, water is just a byproduct of the Selective Catalytic Reduction system.

Usually this is steam caused by boiling your coolant. Depending on where its coming from this can mean 2 different things.

Is it coming from your engine compartment? If so then your coolant boiled over or you blew a radiator hose.

Is it coming from the exhaust? If so then you most likely have a blown head gasket or cracked head, so your coolant is leaking into the cylinder and its getting burned/boiled there.

The 82 Honda 185xl was a four stroke, so it wouldn't have a exspanion chamber all it had was a spark erester, after market pipes came with a header pipe some were for lower end and some for top end, this bike is old its proably gettig tired enjoy it .its a classic?

This is the byproduct of combustion. It's not problematic, and should not worried about, it's completely normal.

Could be that your heater core is leaking May also have a plugged evaporator hole.

another name is smog pump.this could cause light to come on.

You have exhaust leak where the pipe rusted through and this makes the loud noise. You can go to a parts store and get a exhaust repair kit to fix the hole. This is only a temporary fix and might not be enough to fix the repair. Otherwise, you have to go to a muffler shop so they can replace the rusted section.
