Cured the problem. Also I did have the intermediate steering shaft problem and had it repaired under warranty. Came back after about 25K miles. Still living with it. Just had heart surgery and can't tackle the job yet. Hope tjis helps.

What is the difference between deltas and alluvial fans?

Deposits by Rivers

As water moves, it carries sediments with it. Any time moving water slows down, it drops, or deposits, some of the sediment. As the water slows down, fine particles fall to the river's bed. Larger stones quit rolling and sliding. Deposition creates landforms such as alluvial fans and deltas. It can also add soil to a river's flood plain. In Figure 10 you can see these and other features shaped by rivers and streams.

Alluvial Fans

Where a stream flows out of a steep, narrow mountain valley, the stream suddenly becomes wider and shallower. The water slows down. Here sediments are deposited in an alluvial fan. An alluvial fan is a wide, sloping deposit of sediment formed where a stream leaves a mountain range. As its name suggests, this deposit is shaped like a fan. You can see an alluvial fan in Figure 8.

Deltas

A river ends its journey when it flows into a still body of water, such as an ocean or a lake. Because the river water is no longer flowing downhill, the water slows down. At this point, the sediment in the water drops to the bottom. Sediment deposited where a river flows into an ocean or lake builds up a landform called a delta. Deltas can be a variety of shapes. Some are arc shaped, others are triangle shaped. The delta of the Mississippi River, shown in Figure 9, is an example of a type of delta called a "bird's foot" delta.

A delta forms when a river empties into a larger body of water. An alluvial fan forms on land where a river emerges from a mountainous area and flows out onto a more gently sloping plain. The decrease in slope causes the river to decelerate and deposit sediment, forming an alluvial fan.

I doubt if it can be reset. Probably a sensor fault if it is reading incorrectly.

Why would a 2001 Oldmobile Aurora stall in idle?

This is most likely caused by the timing sensors on the camshaft or crankshaft, I can't remember which. Dealer repair = a little under $500. Make sure they replace ALL the sensors. The car will start and run perfectly.

How do you know your fuel pump is working in your 99 olds aurora?

Turn on the ignition switch but do not start the car. Be very quiet and you can hear the pump run for about 3 seconds until the system pressurizes. It's in the trunk.

Why is my Oldsmobile Aurora leaking coolant?

check the thermostat first make sure that it is not sticking and that is open and closing all the way the thermostat will be located in the lower hose instead of the upper on theses cars. If it still continues to leak look to see were the fluid is leaking from, if it is leaking from just right behind the lower fog lamp then you have a bad radiator i recommend a brand new one instead of the sealant for the radiator. and also check your hoses for wear to make sure that its not leaking some of the hoses will go bad so check those for pin holes and rotting out.if its a bad radiator you can usally pick them up for about $240.00 at an o Reilly auto parts store.

Transmission solenoids how do you repair them on a Oldsmobile aurora?

If your not familure with transmissions I would suggest taking to a trans repair shop. There is a diagnostic procedure you must perform to ensure it is a solenoid and not a wiring issue. If you are confident it is the solenoid they are located in the valve body which is inside the trans pan.

How do you remove the Front license plate cover from a C5 corvette?

FYI I have an 84 vette and the front end is now worth a fortune as I never popped out the front plate section and left it original - there are under 300 left with original front end. Food for thought if you plan to keep the car long term.

Where is the drain spout for the radiator in a 1996 Oldsmobile aurora?

Check on driver or passenger side of the radiator, on the side next to the motor. Should be a small metal plug.

Is the 1995 olds aurora considered a good car?

The fuel rails were recalled and were to be replaced with metal ones. Check with a dealer--it was free and I had it done to mine. It is a super car way ahead of its time, but be prepared for some electrical problems!

I think they are good cars. The only problem I have ever found with them is the fuel rail. They are made out of plastic and they crack very easily, so if you smell gas with the AC on or anything similar, check under the plastic engine cover and replace the rail with a new metal replacement from Chevrolet made for Cadillac. It's the same basic engine and it's a much better rail.

Is there a diagram showing how to take the starter off a 1995 Oldsmobile aurora?

Removal

1. Disconnect negative battery cable, then positive battery cable. Remove intake manifold cover. Loosen

fuel filler cap to relieve tank vapor pressure. Connect fuel pressure gauge (J-34730-1) to fuel pressure

connection. Place fuel pressure gauge bleed hose in a container and open gauge bleed valve to relieve fuel

system pressure.

replaced in original location to ensure proper pinion to flywheel clearance.

2. Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector. Disconnect crankcase vent pipe at

air intake duct. Remove air intake duct and air cleaner housing. Disconnect transaxle vent hose and

vacuum lines at Idle Speed Control (ISC) actuator bracket. Disconnect vacuum manifold at throttle body.

Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor and ISC actuator electrical connectors. Disconnect cruise

control servo vacuum hoses and electrical connector. Disconnect cruise control cable at throttle body.

Remove cruise control servo and bracket.

3. Disconnect accelerator cable at throttle body and ISC actuator bracket. Disconnect front bank spark plug

wires and position aside. Disconnect throttle body coolant hoses at throttle body and surge tank pipe.

Disconnect Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe at throttle body spacer. Disconnect brake booster

vacuum hose at intake manifold vacuum fitting. Disconnect fuel rail ground wire at rear cylinder head.

4. Disconnect quick-connect fittings at fuel rail. Remove fuel rail bracket at EGR valve. Disconnect Positive

Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose at intake manifold. Disconnect injector harness main connector.

Remove 6 bolts and 4 studs securing intake manifold, and remove intake manifold.

5. Remove starter solenoid terminal "S" nut and battery cable nut. Separate wiring from starter. Remove

starter mounting bolts and any shims. Remove starter.

Installation

1. Before installing starter onto engine, tighten inner solenoid terminal nuts to ensure they are secure in cap.

Starter failure may occur due to terminal or cap damage. Install starter and wiring. Tighten starter

mounting bolts to specification. Refer to the TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table.

2. Install intake manifold with throttle body attached. Tighten 6 intake manifold bolts and 4 intake manifold

studs to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

How do you replace the brake pads and rotors for a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora?

Frist take the caliber off there should be two caliber bolts holding it to the bracket. After removing the caliper you can remove the brake pads.I keep the one pad to the inside of the caliper in till I push back the piston with a large c clamp or a big pair of plyers. But make sure to open the brake bleeder to let out the fluid not to brake the anti lock system. Then close the bleeder and put the new pads in and reverse the way you took it off.Make sure to not over titen the bolts. take the cover off the master cyclender and then open the bleeder screw till some of the fluid comes out then tighten and replace the top back on the master cyclender, and go to the other side and the same aplies to that side. But after you are done make sure to pump the pedal a few time till it gets hard then check the fluid level.
