Why is your 1994 Saturn sc1 burning oil?
Because Saturns are cheap cars, cheaply made with cheap parts. Cheaply made cars (like Saturns) simply do not last long or hold up well. You'll be very lucky to get 100,000 miles out of a Saturn. I'm sorry, but I'm just telling you like it is. Don't spend a lot of money fixing this car, instead go and buy yourself a good car, like a Honda, Mazda or Toyota.
Sorry for the bad news but I'd just hate for you to go and spend a bunch of money trying to fix this heap only to have it break down again a month later.
well actually my Saturn has 200,000k on it and it still runs great.
-I have had my Saturn sc1 for 10yrs, 135,000 miles and it runs great. Shortly after 100,000 miles I discovered I have to add oil in between oil changes, but the gas milage is so good (32+mpg) I don't mind adding a little extra oil now and then.
-I have had my Saturn for 16 years with 148 thousand miles and still runs fine, for oil burning i would check the pcv valve and or do a compression check on the engine.
-I've driven 2 94' Saturns over 300,000 miles and had no major breakdowns. Sold the first one cause I was too sick of driving it, not because it was in disrepair and I am STILL driving the second one and it is running GREAT. Not so sure if I agree to the "cheapness" of them. They may be inexpensive, but VERY well made.
-My 94' Saturn has over 234k on it, and because it was so 'cheaply' made, I've saved literally $1,000's by working on it myself...and as a chick, that just makes me that much more awesome! EASY to work on, save money, great gas mileage, why would I want to buy a new car only to pay the highest price for parts and labor, when I save everytime by easily doing it myself? Water Pump? no prob, gaskets? easy plugs wires vacuum hoses oil change shall I go on? Its a sporty car, last alot longer than my brothers' 2001 Mazda, I'll keep it til it can be kept no more!
The computer that contors the AC is not responding. Lucky for you this part is no longer in circulation. Take it toa professional electricle repair shop and have them by pass the computer that controlls theACcompletly. In other words wire dirctly to the dash controls. I just had this process done to my 95 olds after repacing my compressor twice in less that 3 years andhaving the system rebuilt behind the dash board becauseof leaks due to the system being overfilled by previous shops that had preformed work on my ac system because it would not blow cold air. What a head ache and pain in the wallet. 4u2peep@excite.com

If it is a V6, it is located in front between engine and the cooling fans.
Why would there be no power to rear windowslocks or dome lights on 2001 Olds Aurora?
Check the main switch on the driver's side. If it doesn't work, no power will go to the rest of the doors, it is the main. ---- Does the trunk light also not work? The map light and trunk light have some common wiring. ---- If you lift up the rear seat, you will find about 20 fuses and the battery for the car. Check the fuses to see if there is one blown.

Around 200 degrees or just above...If it's running hot, you may have a small leak on one of the two radiators in the front. They should only be about $300 parts and labor to replace...
How do you reset the change oil now light on a 99 Oldsmobile Aurora?
Key on Engine off Step on the gas pedal three times within five seconds.
Usually it is NOT a problem with the sending unit. Low oil pressure is typically caused by worn rod and/or main bearings. This is typically caused by poor engine maintenance. THIS IN FACT TURNED OUT TO BE A BAD OIL SENDING UNIT. BY THE WAY THE THIS ENGINE IS MAINTAINED PROPERLY. Check for loose grounds to engine. There are several. My 2001 Aurora has had sevral oil pressure transducers replaced. Just recently right after another was replaced the car was on the rack at the AC mechanics shop. He noticed an arcing ground to the engine. It is possible that the electricl surging has been burning out the semiconductor in the transducer. The same mechanic found a broken ground to the compressor clutch and a leaking AC sensor. Fixed them all and the AC works! Hope he also fixed the oil pressure sender problem.
What color wires on the drivers side window switch should have power going through them?
the hot wire going to the d/s master switches is brown. the ground is black. if all windows are not working you have broken wire(s) that go from the door into the cabin. open door and pull boot back leading to the inside. you will prob. find the black ground and or other wires broken in there
How do you change the odometer from kilometers to miles in a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora?
Press and hold the on/off button in the driver information center for 3 seconds. It will convert back to English. YES...it is that easy. I was just on hold for 30 minutes with Oldsmobile to get this question answered. The car should be running, in park. Press and hold on/off button of driver information center for 3 seconds. Do not confuse this with the power button for the radio. Good luck.
How can you tell if you have a blown head gasket on a 2001 Olds Aurora?
while the engine is running, the exhaust will have a sweet smell, the exhaust will also be extremely dense and alot of it. In extreme cases there is a possibility of antifreeze in the oil pan. Checked by pulling dipstick, the antifreeze will appear blotted on the oil.
Is your car an automatic transmission or standard? If it's automatic, try starting your car in neutral instead of park. Had the same problem with an Oldsmobile Firenza.
Answertry cleaning the battery conections as they do get corroded and that is where the battery is under the back seat. good luck greg! Answeron my 95 olds it was due to a cracked oil pan, every time i tried to start it the back seat clicked, i had it towed and the repair shop replaced the oil pan and the car started right up the oil sensor would not allow the car to turn over.-answer-My 95 just did the same thing,i tried jumping it ,it wouldn't start,i charged the battery and it still just clicked. The little eye on the battery that tells you if it is good or bad,it was green it meant it was good.I thought i was gonna have to put a starter in it,but my buddy told me that his BMW did the same thing and it ended up being the battery. He brought over a battery the next morning, and sure enough i put the battery in and it fired right up.one thing i didn't do is load test the battery to check the cca of the battery,it still reads 12 volts with a multi-meter.I replaced it with a brand new optima red top rated at 980 CCA.Next is to upgrade the alternator to a higher amp alt.Anyways i hope this info can help you in any way.It tells you to get you battery every 3-6 months.
