This is for the timing chain tensioner that does not have the shoe attached to it. To reset the tensioner, push the inner piston all of the way down inside of the outer piston that it sits in. This may take a little work since the inner piston will be filled with oil. Just work it a little at a time until you can push the inner piston all of the way in and it locks in place. Now check and see if the inner piston will spring out properly. Push in on the inner piston hard and release it quickly. Try to keep your hand over it just in case it pops out all of the way. I haven't seen it happen, but have heard about it. It kind of works like a "click" pen. It should pop out all of the way where you can see little holes around the inner piston. If it catches anywhere in between it's travel, reset it a few times to try and get it working smoothly. If it keeps on catching, it is recommended to purchase a new one since it will not set properly when it is installed. It cost me around $38.00 for a new one and is a lot less of a headache than tearing the side of the motor apart again if the old one does not set properly. To install it into the motor, push the inner piston all of the way in until it locks in place. If you purchase a new one, pop the innner piston in and out a few times. New tensioners like to stick a little since they have been locked in place for a while. With the inner piston all of the way in, bolt the tensioner in place with the shoe already installed. With a small pry bar or screwdriver, push down the inner piston. You can use the shoe as a leverage point, but be careful not to twist it too much so that it breaks. This will have to be done as quickly as you can just like when you were pushing it in by hand. It may take a couple of times, but should pop out. I personally like to put the bolt for the harmonic balancer in place and slowly turn the crank shaft in a clockwise motion to try and get some of the slack out of the timing chain. This should take care of it and hopefully there won't be a timing chain rattle.

It is part of the VATS on your car. There is a resistor on your key and if the VATS module does not read the right key when you go to start your car it will not start and this light will come on and stay on. If you have the correct key and this happens do not try to start the car for three minutes. Each time you do the counter will reset even if its the right key. Make sure there is nothing on the resistor by wiping it off on something once three or so minutes have gone by try to start the car again and it should fire right up. The light should flash normally when starting the car but once its done flashing it should go off.

I too had to replace my side mirror on my 2008 G6 but mine was on the passenger side. Normally from a dealer your looking at $130, but i was able to buy mine brand new off eBay from an auto place for around 30 and the cost for shipping so about $50. I just did this a few days ago so I have yet to put it on but they said its easy to do it yourself instead of going to a garage and paying an hours worth of labor(should take 20-30 min tops)

The 1995 Pontiac Grand Am 3.1 liter engine crank shaft sensor is located inside of the rear engine cover. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crankshaft sensor.

Open the hood. Directly behind the headlamps, along the frame you will see a white tab. Pull the tab up being careful not to pull it all the way out. Reach behind the headlamps and push the plastic "bumps" away from the passenger area. The lens assembly should start to come out towards the front bumper. Pull the assembly out and disconnect the wiring harness.

The assembly should be free of the vehicle. Behind the bulb you find a rubber protective insert. Take it out to expose the bulb. Turn the bulb 1/4 turn to the right to remove the bulb. Reverse order to install the assembly.

It depends on your geographic location, but generally it should be anywhere from $75 - $150 labor. A large automotive shop/dealer could be as high as $300 for labor. And of course companies will mark up the water pump 75% - 150% as well.

If you have the slightest mechanical knowledge and a small ratchet set, it would would be very inexpensive to fix yourself.

Just remove the water reservoir and access the pump directly below the alternator. Get a new gasket with the pump and you will need to unbolt the pulley from the old pump and attach it to the new pump. Then replace the serpentine belt.

It will cost you around $40 - $60 and an hour of your time.

I Recomment You Have A Mechanic Look At This Problem. First It Does`nt Have (2) Heater Cores On It For The Heater The Other Is For The A/C ( Evaperator ) Are You Sure This Is Coolant ? It May Be Condensation From The A/C. This Is Best To Let A Mechanic Tell You. Good Luck

Front ABS speed sensors are located directly on the front wheel bearing (hub) assembly. A short pigtail plug with a 2 wire connector clip onto a metal tab on the dust shield. Then the wire extends up the lower control arm forward to a 2 wire plug on the subframe (where the front of the lower a-arm connects). From there it integrates into a larger wiring harnass. Rear ABS speed sensors are located also within the rear wheel bearings. A plastic plug portrudes out the back of the hub and is attached by a 2 wire connector which runs down the steering knuckle assembly, up the trailing arm and into the body of the vehicle through a rubber grommit. **Most likely cause for ABS failure in a 97-03 Grand Prix is a defective extention harnass. (plugs into ABS sensor on hub and extends to front of sub-frame where the lower control arm attach). ** For professional testing of the speed sensor to see if it's working, safely elevate the vehicle, install a volt meter set to 10V AC range to the ABS hub plug, (after you've unplugged it). With the vehicle's wheels moving approximately 35 MPH, you will get an approximately 3.5V AC reading from the sensor.

There are 3 or 4 bolts on a plastic flap. remove them and there will be access to the fog light housing. twist out the old bulbs an change.

You will need a can or two of A/C refrigerant from a auto store. Some cities prohibit the sale, but most do not since they no longer use R12 refrigerant. The Grand am has a high pressure port and low pressure port. Never ever charge from a high pressure port the can can explode and cause damage. You can tell the difference because they have plastic caps on them. The high pressure side is red, and low pressure side is blue. On the grand Am you may have to lay under the front side of the car.. depends on the engine size and make...on a v6 series II, Look up and you will see the air conditing hose running across with a blue cap on it. you can;t do this with the car running it gets too hot and the fan is right there.. Remove the blue cap..place the hose from the can on to the nipple of the port.. YOu pull back the colllar on the charging hose and snap it onto the port. Open the valve of the can, besure the can is upright. You want to charge with the gas of the refrigerant and not the liquid. start car and turn on the air conditoning to max. The can will start to get cold as the compessor draws the refrigerant from the can. Usually one can will do it ..maybe another half ..if it is very low. Close the valve of the can when done. Turn off the car, and then remove the charging hose from the port and put the blue cap back on. If this doesn't do it..you either have a bad leak or a bad compessor in the system.

You will need to call the dealership and give them the vehicle identification number and they will give it to you. Without the VIN, then you are out of luck. This is to cut down on theft.

I believe the horn is on the front passenger side of the car under the hood by the wheel well. The horn is actually to horns. A high pitch and a low Pitch.
