How do you change power side mirrors 2004 grand am?

First, you have to pop off the door panel. You simply just pull off the triangle piece, no tricks or anything. Second, there is a connector piece. There should be three wires that connect to a black rectangle looking piece, with more wires coming out the bottom. You really can't see the bottom wires though. There is a little tab on one of the sides of the connector. You pull up on the tab (it's just a little piece, smaller than a pencil eraser) and the connector slides off. Now your mirror is off.

How do you by pass the anti theft system on a 1996 Grand AM SE?

the dealership will say theres now way to do this but there lying, heres wat to do.im not sure if this is how its on a 96 but heres what i had to do to my 99. first remove the cover over the stereo it should pop right off, then remove the stereo by removing the three 7mm bolts that hold it in place. pull the stereo out and set it aside but dont unplug it, now look to the left and you will see three wires in a cheap crappy black cloth tape. remove it and you will see a black, yellow and white wires. if you have any doubts that about the cords look up your wiring system on bulldog security. ok now start the car, with the car running snip the yellow wire and your done just cap off both ends of the wire. now the security light will come on and stay on. the reason this works is because the car sees it as a malfuction instead of a theft because the car was already on. that should do it all you have to do is ignore the security light lol, but she'll start every time now. hope this helps, good luck

Where is the thermostat on 2002 grand am se?

I am guessing you have the 2.2 liter engine, because GM did a pretty good job of hiding the thermostat on that engine. The upper radiator hose attaches to the radiator at one end, and the other end attaches to a large pipe which bolts to the back of the intake manifold. The thermostat is between the intake manifold and that pipe assembly. It may not be an easy job replacing it, and the correct thermostat may be hard to get at the average parts store.

How do you fold down the rear seat of 2001 grand am?

Open up the trunk. Inside, you will find two little webbing loops on the back of the rear seats near the top. Pull the loop and at the same time push the seatback forward. The seats fold down in two parts. That's all there is to it!

Where is the water pump located on a 2002 Pontiac Grand am?

Find the side of the engine that has all the pulleys and belts. Under one of those pulleys that is connected to the engine you will find the water pump. I cannot tell you which one exactly. You could go to www.autozone.com and go under the repair info button and look for it that way.

Why does my 2001 Mitsubishi Galant w automatic transmission shake and vibrate REALLY hard when the car is stopped and in drive but not while the car is in neutral or in park?

Have your timing belt condition checked IMMEDIATELY. My Galant was doing the same thing and I wasted $hundreds replacing motor mounts with no improvement. What happens is, the timing belt gets old and starts losing teeth, allowing the harmonic balancer to go gradually more and more out of correct position, which causes the car to shake like an off-balance washing machine. Make sure that the mechanics put your balancer back in correct position when they replace your timing belt (unlike the idiots who did mine)...

How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 1989 Plymouth Sundance?

I just replaced the headlight bulbs on a 94 Sundance. It's very easy and doesn't require any tools. Pop the hood, and unscrew the bulb from the back of the light. You may have to wiggle it as there is a gasket around the base. Once out remove the bulb from the connection. This includes the black plastic casing. You should notice a clasp near the bottom of the casing, just lift up and pull the bulb and casing free from the wire. the replacement bulb just snaps on in the same way. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR BARE HANDS as oil from your fingers can cause and uneven distribution of heat and pop the bulb. I didn't believe it and found myself buying another bulb.

Broken Glove Box Lock in 1997 Grand am How do you replace the lock in a broken glove box Mine is broken. The lock and latch falls out when you unlock it. Do I have to replace the entire glove box?

Normally, a locking cylinder is held in by a clip on the back side. You pass the cylinder through the hole in the glovebox and then inside the glovebox you slide a clip over the cylinder to hold it tight to the inside of the glove compartment door. Maybe you just need to the clip. It may have broke. You shouldn't need a whole glovebox door and all unless the part on the glovebox door is broken where the clip attaches to it. Then you may need just the door.

How many miles can you drive on a gas light in a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am?

This is kind of a general question. The low fuel light will ussually come on when you have a gallon or less of gasoline left. There is no set mileage of how far you can drive witht his light on because there are so many different driving conditions (under heavy load, under light load, cold weather startup, etc.) Also depending the condition of the fuel and ignition parts in your car can affect how many miles you get to the gallon. so i wouldn't recommend driving for very long with this light on. Hope this helped.
