Walk out to the vehicle with the fob, press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time and HOLD them pressed for 7 seconds and you will hear the locks go thru a cycle. After 7 seconds the fob should be reprogrammed. Try it. If not stand closer. I stood beside the front driver's fender to do mine and it worked first time.

that means all that is required to gain entry to all such vehicles is a similar remote.

'98 - '02 Isuzu Rodeo and Trooper and Honda Passport(with factory keyless entry) Instructions for programming. 1. Get in car and make sure all doors are unlocked. 2. Open driver's door and leave open. 3. Put key in ignition. 4. Turn key to 'on position' (dash lights on, but do not start) and back to 'off position' 3 times in 5 seconds or less. (you must turn the key very fast) 5. Close and open driver's door 2 times in 5 seconds or less. 6. Turn key to 'on position' and back to 'off position' 5 times in 5 seconds or less. (turn key very fast) 7. Close and open driver's door the doors should lock and unlock twice after this happens push the lock or unlock button on the remote, doors will lock and unlock. Push the lock or unlock button a second time and doors will lock and unlock again. You are finished! The above sequence erases all previous codes and adds the new code as #1. If you are adding a second remote, you should follow the same sequence with the exception of step 6; instead of turning the key to the 'on position' and back to the 'off position' 5 times in 5 seconds or less, do it 3 times in 5 seconds or less and then continue to step 7. ***Remember to turn the key to the on and off position very fast. The best way is to follow the instructions on the users manual. They would have come along with the remote with easy instructions.

If you just want to replace the transmitter battery on it it does not need to be program it does need to be resequenced.

1 replace the transmitter battery

2 close all doors on the car

3 stand outside of car , on the driver side , and hold at the same time the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons, you should hear the locks cycling close to open position.

After that your transmitter is resynched, if it does not work you may need a new transmitter.

If you do it does need to be programmed at the dealership and you will need the car there along with any other transmitters you have for the car.

To program the remote to the opener press the RADIO SET BUTTON with a pointed object. The courtesy light will come on for 30 seconds. if the light is already on it will flash once the stay on for 30 seconds. During this 30 seconds press and hold the button on the transmitter until the courtesy light flashes twice. This indicates the code has been accepted. repeat the process to add up to 6 transmitters.

A key fob is for instance a mini card on your keyring, for instance I have a tesco's clubcard key fob on my keyring therefore when I put petrol in my car and pay at the checkout instead of finding my clubcard I get my key fob!

Turn the key to the locking position on the door lock once to lock the car when locking up. You will hear 4 (or 2 double) clicks. The car has been locked and armed. You should see a red light flashing on the driver's door. Do NOT hold the key in that position. This will cause all the windows to roll up (locking) or roll down (unlocking), so release the key to the neutral position. Turn the key to lock once again and release.
