find means obtain, get hold of while search means to look for so there is an overlap in their meaning.

Another answer:

Definitions for the verb 'search' include: to look for something; to investigate, probe, examine; to check something.

For the noun 'search', meanings include: an attempt to find, to locate, to discover something.

The verb 'find' can mean to discover something, by searching or by chance; to realize (understand) something; to form an opinion through your own knowledge or experience; to recover something that was lost; to reach or arrive at a destination or target; to obtain or aquire something.

The noun 'find' can mean something found, especially something valuable, worthwhile, or interesting.

So you might say, for example:

'We conducted a search on the job applicant's background, not expecting to find any notable results, but were delighted to find our applicant is extremely well thought-of in our field: this person is proving a lucky find!'

What is duplicate content?

This is a term mainly used in the SEO realm of marketing. It's basically the same content, located in more than one place. Some examples: www.example.com and example.com; If both of these URL's show up when you look for a website. That website (in this case example.com) is breaking Google and all Search Engine Guidelines. But typically what happens, in the Search Engines eyes, is someone is stealing someone else's content and using it as their own and trying to rank in Google for work they didn't do. Called a scraper site. Duplicate content is content copied in an essentially complete form from the original publication of an original work of authorship. Duplicate content may be used to create a derivative work based on the copied content in its entirety or it may be duplicated in its original form. Examples of duplicate content could be a photocopy of an article, a Web page that appropriates the complete text of an original Web page, an unedited copy of a photograph, video or film. Duplicate content should be distinguished from fair use content, for which very limited excerpts of an original work of authorship are used in another work of authorship in a manner that does not compromise the marketable value of the original content. Duplicate content may be an authorized or unauthorized copy of original content. Authorized copies of content are arranged oftentimes through formal licensing agreements between the party who owns the rights to the original content and the party wanting to create a duplicate of that content. Unauthorized copies of content may violate either copyright laws and/or licensing agreements governing the use of original content.

Duplicate content is a key concern in online publishing today, as both authorized and unauthorized duplicate content may impact the search engine rankings of original content.

Now search engines is able to identify what is original and what is duplicate. With their improved algorithms, they are able to identify duplicate web content from original content. http://www.copyscape.com/ is another service which helps you to find duplicate content.

What kind of engineer is paid the most?

"What is the top paid kind of engineer?" As follows: Biomedical Engineers, life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists, Computer Software Engineers. $50-$114,000. Like most engineering disciplines, the salary versus time curve for environmental engineers is marked with rapid, significant increases early in the career and then flattening with time so that increases are not as rapid later in your career, the exception to this curve is for those that expand their work into management activities in addition to or in lieu of the technical aspects of engineering. Along with salary comes the standard fringe benefits of vacation, insurance, etc. Job security --- Since before the turn of this century, there have always been many more jobs than environmental engineers to fill them. So, you will never be out of work. However, the work of an environmental engineer changes with changing government policies and the public's priorities --- for a time you might work with wastewater, then for another time with solid waste and still other specialties before retirement. Accordingly, a commitment to life-long learning is essential --- a college degree is just the beginning of ones education. Job Availability --- While the job security of environmental engineers is good, the ease of breaking into the profession varies over time based on market conditions which are affected by government policies, priorities, and funding. An outstanding academic record of accomplishment is always a plus. Dream realization --- You will experience the fulfillment of seeing something you conceived in your mind realized in concrete, steel and other tangible materials; and from being a part of the successful solution to a problem. Helping your fellow humans --- Knowing that your efforts make the world a better place for you and your fellow human beings to live will provide additional satisfaction. Best wishes

What is the fastest search engine on the internet?

On a ping test we found:

1) Google 8.29ms

2) bing 15.13ms (2x longer)

3) yahoo 31.9ms (4x Google)

This may be an indication that Google is the fastest search engine.

Ping only measures the "distance" from your computer to another computer on the net. All your test shows is the Google server computers are much "closer" to your computer than the other server computers. It tells nothing of the server computer or search software speed. The search engines themselves tell you how long the search took, use that figure to compare.

What is article of war 107?

AW 107 refers to the Articles of War number 107. It was under this authority that a service man was honorably discharged from the army/navy/etc during or after WW2. AW 107 authorized the the issue and wear of a lapel pin to be worn for up to 30 days on his uniform and then later on his civilian clothes signifying his honorable discharge. This pin later became known as the "ruptured duck." The pin was first issued in a metal version, but because of material shortages it was later issued in gilded plastic and a cloth version.

Answer I think AW107 has to do with AWOL and not authority to issue an Honorable Discharge and wear a ruptured duck.

Answer I am looking at two Army Separation Documents WD/AGO Form 53-55. On each it has a remarks block. On each it has entry: "Time Lost Under AW 107: __ days". I think AW107 is Article of War covering Absence Without Official Leave.

Answer I can't believe how many web pages contain "Articles of War". I quickly found the original British version from 1749 and US version of 1806, but Article 107 was a much later addition.

"ART. 107. SOLDIERS TO MAKE GOOD TIME LOST. Every soldier who deserts the service of the United States, or who without proper authority absents himself from his organization, station, or duty for more than one day, or who is confined for more than one day under sentence, or while awaiting trial and disposition of his case, if the trial results in conviction, or who through the intemperate use of drugs or alcoholic liquor, or through disease the result of his own misconduct, renders himself unable for more than one day to perform duty shall be liable to serve, after his return to a full duty status, for such period as shall, with the time he may have served prior to such desertion, unauthorized absence, confinement, or inability to perform duty, amount to the full term to his enlistment." So, if your grandpa wasn't court-martialed (which would certainly be noted in his discharge papers), he probably partied a bit too much and over-stayed his leave or came back too drunk for duty. All Hat No Horse Answer My Dad also has the "1 Day Lost Under AW 107" noted on his separation papers. I remember him saying that he and a buddy got drunk, passed out and missed the bus back to camp one night. He said that they busted him back to PFC and gave him KP duty for awhile. We have a picture of him peeling potatoes. I would go with the AWOL and unable to perform duties as being the cause of AW 107.

How much is 10000 talents worth?

10,000 talents is worth about 150,000 year's wages.

Here's the calculation:

1 talent = 60 minas

1 mina = 3 month's wages

1 talent = 60 x (3 months' wages) = 180 months' wages

1 talent = 180 months' wages / 12 months in a year = 15 years' wages

1 talent = 15 years' wages

10,000 talents = 150,000 years' wages.

So if a yearly wage is $15,000 (about 40hrs/week at CA min wage ($8/hr)

150,000 year's wages = 2,250,000,000

Which are the highest paid engineers in the world?

I'm an electronics manufacturing engineer in the U.S. I make good money, but far from what top paid engineers get. I get more than most in my position, though. If it were not so cheap to send electronics offshore, I would make far more money. Because offshore is so cheap, what is built in the U.S. has to be low priced to compete. It can't be low priced if I'm the engineer assigned and my cost to the company is $300/hour. Even if my cost to the company is $50/hour, it's still not cheap to hire me compared to an offshore engineer. There would be no $40 DVD players if they were built in the US! It's pretty simple to determine the highest paid engineers: First, what do we pay most for? Or what cost the most? Those engineers who design and work on high cost projects are paid the most. It's not much different than a cook at a fast food restaurant compared to a 5 star restaurant. What products cost the most? Pharmaceuticals/chemical, petroleum/energy. Those are the fields paying well. As far as the highest paid engineer? Well, while it is field related, it is not so simple. The architect designing a single family home is not going to be in the same range as the one designing a sky-scraper. The engineers in charge of sending up billion dollar satellites are certainly well paid, but how many positions are available in such a field? So, the question needs to be narrowed down a bit. Which engineer makes the most money, more specifically, which field and finally, which specialty?
