How do you know if the speed sensor is out on a 1992 Toyota 4runner?

usually your speedometer, odometer, and trip doesn't work. It also may trigger check engine light with the O\D OFF blinking. I remember this happened to me . it went away when I turned it off. But came back when I hit Hwy speeds, usually and simultaneously when I let off the accelerator abruptly.

Order and replace Transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor.

How do you replace the cabin filter on 2003 4runner?

I own a 2003 4Runner and the cabin air filter is directly behind the "Glove Box." It's in the exact same place on my 2008 Tundra. Open and clean out your glove box. Remove the piston on the right side of the glove box, let the box drop forward. Squeeze in the sides of the glove box to bypass the stops in the back of the box. Let it drop forward.

Behind the glove box you will find a long door with the air filter inside. It's that simple.

On a Hyundai 2000 Tiburon is there a fuse for the clock or is it just dead?

Check to see if your 12V port (cigarette lighter) and side mirror adjustment is also dead, their all on the same circuit. Check the fuse for this circuit, if blown replace. Everything should come back. Now check the wiring at the hinge point for the Driver's door. On mine the door opening and closing wore a hole in the insulation and shorted out. A simple piece of electrical tape should solve your problem. Hope this helps everyone out there.

How do you replace a back window on a 1993 Nissan Sentra?

I would suggest you first contact your auto insurance company. Most of the time glass replacement carries no deductible and your insurance will take car of it. Even if you have to pay for it yourself, I recommend you call an auto glass shop and have them install the new rear glass. The labor charge is not that much. Installing it yourself, is risky. If you break it, then you will be out the cost again. Not worth the risk. Pay a professional.

What is the difference between V6 and V8 Toyota Four Runners?

Is there something specific you are looking for? This kind of question is like asking what is different between a burger made at Hooters and one made in the back yard barBQ. They are both burgers. Yet besides the obvious, one has 6 cylinders and one has 8 cyl. there are a few considerations. using the 6 as a base value we can look at the 8 cylinder characteristics. * has more horse power, bigger suspension, beefier drive train, stronger breaking and tougher structural construction. What this means is it can pull more, haul heavier and do better with smaller, or larger, loads on the hills. With this capability comes costs. More gas consumption when its running and more costs at tuneup time. When it come time to overhaul it cost more too. So when checking one out check the payload you are using it for. If you are not pulling a heavy trailer up hills then do you need that extra power? That is the only place where I ever needed a V8. The V8 actually did better with gas mileage on some trips because it didn't have to work as hard as my V6 did. But that was rare.

How do you Replace the Timing Belt on a 1992 Toyota Corolla?

Replacing a timing belt on a Ford 1992 Escort can be slightly simpler than on other vehicles. This is still, however, a very precise and difficult operation. The belt and the camshaft/crankshaft pulleys it works with must be aligned exactly when changing the belt or else you can severely damage the engine. This procedure can also vary, depending on the engine type (the following is for a 1.8-liter engine). You may wish to consult a professional before you begin the procedure.

#

Step 1

Unscrew and remove the timing belt's upper cover and its gasket, using a screwdriver.

#

Step 2

Loosen the water pump pulley's bolts with a wrench without removing them, then remove the pump's drive belt by loosening its mounting and adjusting bolts. Remove the water pump's bolts and then the pulley.

#

Step 3

Raise the car's front end, support it on jack stands and remove the right-front wheel. Unbolt and remove the upper and lower splash shields on the car's passenger side.

#

Step 4

Remove the air conditioner drive belt in the same manner as the previous belt, then unbolt and remove the crankshaft pulley with a wrench, along with the guide plates for the pulley and timing belt. Unbolt and remove the belt's middle and lower covers.

#

Step 5

Turn the crankshaft pulley with a ratchet and socket on the crankshaft's front bolt, until the crankshaft pulley's mark lines up with the engine block's mark, and the camshaft pulley's marks line up with the seal plate marks.

#

Step 6

Loosen the lock bolt on the timing belt tensioner with your wrench or ratchet and remove the belt from the pulleys.

Installation

#

Step 1

Push the belt tensioner all the way to the left to extend its spring and then tighten the lock bolt with the wrench. Check to confirm that all the pulley alignment marks are still lined up.

#

Step 2

Slip the replacement timing belt onto the pulleys. Loosen the tensioner's lock bolt, push the tensioner to tighten the belt and re-tighten the bolt.

#

Step 3

Turn the crankshaft by two full turns clockwise and make sure all the pulley timing marks are still aligned. Turn it again by one and five-sixths (1 5/6) turns to line up the tension mark with the crankshaft pulley mark, then loosen, press and re-tighten the tensioner again to re-tighten the belt.

#

Step 4

Turn the crankshaft again by two and one-sixth (2 1/6) turns, to line up the camshaft pulley marks with the seal plate blocks. Push down on the belt in between the pulleys with your thumb. If it deflects less than .35 inches or more than .45, adjust the belt with the tensioner and lock bolt.

#

Step 5

Give the crankshaft two more full turns clockwise to align all the pulley marks.

#

Step 6

Install and bolt the lower and middle timing belt covers, followed by the belt guide plates, the crankshaft pulley and its guide plate, the water pump pulley, the drive belts, the splash shields and the upper timing belt cover.

#

Step 7

Reconnect the right-front wheel and lower the car off the jack stands.

How can you get a new set of keys for a 1991 LeBaron?

If you lost the keys and you can prove that you are the titled owner. The Chrysler dealer can order an ignition key with the VIN number. You may have to have the door locks replaced, if the door key is different from the ignition key. If that fails, try an auto electric shop to get the locks changed, maybe even a locksmith.

How do you change out the universal joint?

1. Remove the drive shaft. (much easier then trying this while the drive shaft is still in) Mark the drive shaft so that everything goes back together lined up. Drive shafts are balanced, so if two parts are put together a bit off, you may feel vibrations if the shaft is now unbalanced.

2. If these are the OEM u-joints, you might see white nylon pegs. (On Chevys since the late 70s) These are the "clips" OEMs use instead of metal snap rings. Just use a small drill bit to drill the nylon out. If they are metal snap rings, these must be removed. 3. Use a shop press to press the caps out of the yoke. First one side, remove the cap, and then press the other side out in the same fashion. Repeat until all the bearings are free. You can now remove the u-joint.

You can use a hammer if you don't have a press, but if these u-joint are old and rusty, you could be beating on them all day. I have a 20 ton shop press and there have been times when I needed all 20 tons to press these caps through. If in doubt, take the drive shaft to a shop that has a press. It should not cost very much and will save you a lot of time and trouble.

4. When putting in the new u-joint, be very careful when removing the new caps there are lots of needle bearings inside that could fall out and you will be buying new joints. Take the caps off of opposite ends of the new joint and put the joint into the yoke then put the yoke in a bench vice (or shop press) and press the new caps into place. Use a socket to sink the caps further into the yoke if needed. 5. Reinstall drive shaft

How do you remove the dash bezel on a 1999 Toyota 4runner where the stereo is?

It's very easy, the only tool you need is a Phillips head screwdriver.

1. flip up the center console and pull the emergency brake handle, then pull up on the black plastic cupholder, it helps using a hand inside the e-brake pocket -- it just snaps right out.

2. pull up on the woodgrain/plastic piece surrounding the gear shift -- also just snaps right out

3. pull the woodgrain/plastic dash piece starting at the bottom -- yes, it too snaps right off, BUT, it has many wires attached that you DO NOT need to remove. Just push the unsnapped dash piece to the right a bit and you'll have plenty of room to work.

4. Use your Phillips head sd to unscrew the 4 screws holding the radio in place and pull out the radio! voila!
