What is the firing order-1986celica 2se motor?

The #1 cylinder is by the passenger side fender. #2 is the next one to the right (facing the car from the front bumper), next is #3 and the last, #4 is nearest the driver's side fender. Look on the distributer cap for the numbered spark plug wire post. Attach number 1 to 1, number 2 to 2, etc. Very simple. If you really need to know which fires when, you can pull the plugs and turn the crankshaft bolt with a socket wrench, looking to see which piston rises when. Really no need to do so, because they also idiot-proofed the distributer shaft by making the connection to the cam shaft by a yoke that only goes 1 way to attach. (look for the match mark) So, between the numbered cap, the plugs running in order from left to right and the yoke connecting the distributor, it's pretty straight foreward. Auntetr

How do you open the hood on a 1988 Toyota Camry with a broken hood release?

The hood release mechanism under the hood is very secure from outside the car.

First, remove the plastic grill by removing screws and snap in fasteners. This can be done from the outside and from the front of the grill.

Next, the cover over the release mechanism must be forcibly opened up to access the mechanism inside. There is an existing small opening on the left side of the cover (facing vehicle) that can be widened by using a screw driver or small nose pliers to bend the metal back.

A long, flat tip screwdriver or a skinny punch can be used to reach in to the widened opening to either unhook the spring or push the release lever that the cable would normally pull. To push the release lever, the tool would be held horizontal and pushed to the right (when facing the front of the car). It is not necessary to remove the mechanism in order to open the hood.

How do you change the timinig belt in a 1989 Toyota Celica gt?

Hi,I have changed timing belts on Am and Japanese autos. Be certain that you have the right procedures "down pat" as well as understanding them before starting the procedure, because if you install a new belt improperly, you can cause more costly repairs...like burning values, etc.

To get the correct procedure, go to AutoZone's auto repair manual area on the internet and with the specs of your vehicle and get/print out the official procedure or steps...Good Luck, Ron

Your 2000 Toyota Celica starts to idle then cuts off completely and wont stay running unless you give it gas Any suggestions?

you may look into what is called a throttle position sensor. it basically monitors the position of the throttle and tells the fuel injection what to do. if it goes bad, the car will stall and won't run unless you give it more gas to keep the rpm's up. the throttle position sensor is typically located on the side of the throttle body, right near where the air intake hose joins the engine. they are relatively inexpensive , available at any car parts store and easy to replace.

How difficult is it to replace the wiring harness in a Toyota Celica?

not as hard as you would think! the harness starts right behind the glove box. through the firewall. then you have to unhook the : battery, starter, alternator , fuel rail, water housing, and a couple of wires off the back of the block and the transmission.

i would unhook a couple of the motor mounts before getting started and jack the motor up a little.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 1991 Celica GT?

Fuel PumpIn the top of the fuel tank, like most Celicas. Before doing anything, remove the negative battery lead-gas and electrics DON'T play nicely together!! Now, you'll have to drop the tank via two bands that hold it up, then unbolt the pump assembly to remove it, but it's not quite as bad as it sounds. The filter is on the take-up end of the pump. It's easier to do if the tank is empty--either run it close to empty, or drain it via the drain plug if it has one. Or you can take out the rear seat cushion and the service hole cover, and unbolt the assembly that way. I believe 91's are built this way. 8 bolts, an outlet pipe, and a few wires should be all that need to be removed to pull out the assembly. Good luck and no smoking!

Is the 3sfe similar to 3sge motor could you swap from fe to ge with same motormounts and harness but change the ECU?

3sfe is different to 3sge. F series are the economy type and 3sge is the real 'DOHC'. They almost have the same mounts but you need to have the ge harness and ecu for it to work properly.
