This code refers to a problem with the O2 sensor. As your vehicle more than likely has up to four sensors it would pay you to take it to ASE certified mechanic and have it diagnosed and the correct sensor replaced. Otherwise you might be replacing a good sensor until you finally found the one that is actually bad. I would highly recommend you check all the electrical connections at all the O2 sensors to make sure they are tight and not corroded. It all the connections seem fine disconnect the negative battery cable to reset the ECU and see if the light stays off. If the light comes back on take it to a certified mechanic for repair.

You would be better off getting an actual SC motor from a parts car than trying to swap an SC onto a standard 3.8L LX. The SC motor is designed for the boost application, as it has forged crankshaft, rods, and better pistons to handle the boost. A normal 3.8L would not handle the boost you can get out of the M90 Eaton blower that the SC's came with. You would most likely end up breaking something in the bottom end, and then have to start all over w/ a new motor. Check out www.tccoa.com for more info on this.

As pointed out, above.. PLUS.. 3.8L engines already had a problem with head gaskets....It is not practical for the sometime mechanic to add forced induction to those engines.

In fact the BEST way to do it is to find a wrecked SuperCoupe and swap EVERYTHING.

Yes, adding a turbo to a N/A engine can, it the cooling system can't handle the extra heat the extra power will generate. It alos can on a factory turbo car, if the boost is turned up too high, causing excessive exhaust backpressure/egt.

Yes, but 1 turbo is really to small for a 5.0, you will need 2. Also you will need to get a manifold that will fit the turbine mount, shouldn't be a problem for a ford 5.0, look on turbo mustang sites/kits. There are about 5 different turbos that where used on the 5.9 whc1,hx35, hy35, he341, he351, so you have to check which one you need. There are plenty of forums to check what 5.0 guys are using/ turbo calculators to check. I'm in the process of building my own set up for a 318 magnum, looking to get 2- hx35 can flow enough for 400-800 hp on a small v8. HY35 can spool faster due to small turbine housing but would limit top end. Their are aftermarket turbine housings that 4cl Honda/Mitsubishi/ svo ford 4cyl. mustang racers use.

A supercharger is an air compressor used for forced induction of an internal combustion engine. Generally, a Positive displacement supercharger( 6-71,B&M, Whipple) are installed in between the carb and the intake manifold and run normal carburetors. Centrifugal supercharger for carburated engines are of a blow-thru setup (between the engine)and use specially setup carburators. All are driven by a belt that runs off of a pulley on the crankshaft.

A turbo, an intercooler to coll the engine as turbos produce a lot of extra heat, an aftyermarket ecu as the fuel map of your car will have to be tuned, a dyno as your car will have to be tuned on a dyno.

Installing a turbo in a naturally aspirated engine will greatly reduce engine life as the parts are not designed to run at such high temperatures and pressures.

bearing failure is the most common failure of turbos since there arent many components of a turbo. if there bearings are failing it should be accompanied by a roaring or slapping noise audible to the ear or at least with a stethoscope. in addition, if you remove the induction boot you can spin the propeller with a finger to check for free movent and end play some is normal but shouldnt be excessive. also aftermarket exhausts have been known to block movement of the wastegate causing poor performance. inspection of the wastegate and downpipe may reveal contact points inhibiting proper movement of these parts.

no, the exhaust bolts on at a different place for turbo and non turbo engines you can probably use most of the exhaust but will have to get different engine pipes to hook up between engine and rest of exhaust

Kenne Bell 2.8 Mammoth Blower in my opinion because it sounds awesome and puts down around 700rwhp I believe. In general though I've seen people be better off with a centrifugal style blower like a Vortech, Paxton, or ATI. It all depends on what application you're considering (street/strip).

You can try many things to make your car faster, here are a few sugestions, have your engine serviced and tuned, remove excess weight, fit turbo charger or a nitrous oxide kit, even a good clean and polish will help (you never see a dirty F1 racing car!).

I recently serviced a 2010 f350 with 6.4 diesel engine that was overfilled 9 quarts. Yes nine quarts. Truck ran like that for over a month and the symptomps were similar to having a misfire. The idle was rough, truck was shaking a lot,like it had a bad engine mount it was also choking at times especialy when warm.

There are no cheaper superchargers.

TurboCharger... Because you can control your RPM levels to prevent boost, while on a supercharger, boost is always present. On the other hand, at full boost Superchargers are more fuel efficient.
