Try Connector at back of ignition switch (key switch). Happened on mine, drove me mad for ages, checked everything then found that connector loose.

From original questio. It turned out to be a faulty relay under the dashboard. I had heard it clicking rapidly but thought that was the result of the problem and not the problem. A copper strip had broken and was making and breaking depending on the temperature or vibration or load. Cost 650€ for the VW dealer to find and 11€ for the relay!

Sorry Don't have the answer but friend complains of the same thing happening to his golf! I thought he was just imagining it. Any update on cause?

I had the same problem on my jetta and i replace the ignition switch the mechanical part and the electrical finally the probem is gone!! the cost was around 80 dollars....

You should be able to see the plug on the gearbox it is oval in shape and should use a hex bolt to undo when you actually take it out it is about 4 inches long with spiral grouves to catch on all the gears. Hope it helps

I own a 2003 Nissan Maxima Se 6spd. To put the car in reverse, you need to pull up a ring underneath the shift ball up which unblocks reverse gear. Then move the shifter all the way to the right and down. It is also the same on a 2002 Maxima Se 6spd.

Apparently there is no "switch" as such; it is connected directly to battery or engine circuit. They do speak of a "fan motor connector"though which is a small box behind the fan. Please do check it out before putting a screwdriver in the thing!! In the two-speed type there are two switches: The pressure switch and the blower switch but I never had to look into them. Please research!

Pop Off Valves

Assuming you are referring to the Mass Air Flow Sensor it is bolted to the factory air box inline with the intake tube, you will see an electrical connector with several wires coming out of the top. Usually only takes a Philips head screwdriver and a pair of slip joint pliers for the intake tube clamp to replace one.

Assuming the stereo worked previously, check the fuse on the main panel (fuse number varies with vehicle model). If the panel fuse is okay then check any inline fuses in the stereo wiring loom or on the the stereo itself. - SD

The rpm's should be... in a standard from about 2000-3000.... and in an automatic 2500-3500. However remember that these are general estimates and depend on the size of the motor (a 4-cylinder will have higher rpm's than a V6, and so on) and the condition of the car (fluids/maintenance/etc.).

There is a filler level plug, You'll need a 12mm allen key for that.

It is located on the front face of the gearbox casing, next to the reverse light switch.

on the upper fuse panel,,look up under neath your dash,,u will see two sets plug in ontop the back of the fuse panel,,the top left is the daylight running lights,,but caution,,since 1990 in Canada its againest the law and 115 dollar fine,,i found out,,the plus in is black,,

Noise from the instruments, especially related to road speed, is usually due to a worn speedo cable. Another indication of speedo cable wear is when the speedo needle/pointer fluctuates while driving at a constant speed.

It will be due to the input shaft bearing in gearbox.

There is a difference between pressure and flow in hydraulics such as water. If your source is a water tower, like city water, the pressure is constant, or static, however flow depends upon pipe size and other factors. For example, you may be dissatisfied with the flow of your shower but you look out the window to see a truck crash into a fire hydrant. "No fair!", you cry as you envy the neighborhood children getting a more satisfactory bath than you just had, with apologies to the truck driver abused in this example though he also got a better shower. That is, the six inch diameter fire hydrant main line produces considerably more flow than the 3/4 inch line to your house, especially if someone flushes and robs your flow. To specifically address well water pressure concerns, you have to understand that your pressure is artificially created. You rely on a pump for that purpose. As you investigate potential problems with your pump keep in mind that pressure is not the same thing as flow. See the links. BTW: As a concrete guy, I have a personal interest in hydraulic pressure because it has a direct impact upon my preparation of formwork to contain liquid concrete in its desired place until it hardens. The physics are the same as water, but engineers use a caveat in these pressure calculations which defy common sense. The constant of pressure exerted by height (gravity) is not allowing for friction. "Discounting friction" is how they put it. That is, consider the amount of piping in your home. Okay, now consider the same amount for your neighbors and then image how many others share the same source of water, maybe a million people. Now consider the loss by friction, the rubbing of water molecules against all manner and size of piping, before you can turn on the spigot. Friction loss is huge in hydraulics. I have met men who have formed and poured concrete all their lives who call me crazy when I tell them that a one foot wide concrete wall form has the same pressure at the bottom as a three feet wide form, if the height of the wall is the same. Technically they are wrong, but their experience tells them better. "Discounting friction" in pressure calculations is like getting robbed, discounting the threat.
