Unleaded gas in a 1971 VW super beetle?
The only things unleaded gas could screw up in that engine are the valve seats. Volkswagen started putting Stellite (a very, very hard metal) seats in their engines in the 1960s, so you're fine.
What does the muffler do in a classic VW bug?
Well it provides the right back pressure for the car to run well. It muffles the sound of the exhaust as well as creates an outlet for the exhaust gasses to escape. Cars don't run well on exhaust fumes so you need to get them out of the head and away from the intake as efficiently as possible. It also (on later models, Dual Ports) helps to heat the intake. In winter time your intake will freeze right below the carb this is because of the cold temps outside as well as very cold fuel hitting very cold metal. There are two small pipes that come off the intake(on Dual Port motors) that go down and meet with the exhaust, these are called the heat risers. These are what heat the intake.
What kind of oil to use in a vw swing axle transmission on a 1970 VW Beetle?
A 1970 VW Beetle will have what is referred to as the IRS transaxle not the earlier swing axle used up until 1968. Any good gear lube made for use in manual transmissions will work, an 85W/140 for example. I have used a Slick 50 manual transmission additive in mine that helps smooth the shifting noticeably.

What could be leaking coolant on the top radiator hose on 02 volkswagen beetle?
If there is coolant on the top radiator hose, it may be coming from the hose itself. It may have a hole or cut in it where coolant is spraying out when the car heats up. If there's no hole in the hose, check to see if the clamp needs to be tightened up.
How do you replace the tail light bulb in your 2004 vw bug?
This is how I replaced my VW Beetle Tail light. Things you will need: *Flathead Screwdriver *New tail light bulb (7528 Sylvania) *Gloves-Use gloves, so you do not touch the tail light bulb. Plus its easier to grip the tail light bulb. The grease/oil from your hands, even if you just washed, it will make the bulb burn out faster. Step 1- Remove the cover (it's round) from the inside of your trunk. Use a flathead screwdriver to leverage it out. There is a notch on one side so you can slip the flathead screwdriver in to pop it out. When you take that part off, there will be a black knob that needs to be unscrewed totally to release the back light casing. Step 2- Along the rear fenders where the lights are, there are two gaps. The inside gap (nearest hatch back door), is a release tab/clip on the light inside between the gaps. Insert a butter knife or something slim and pull out the casing (it takes a little force to pull it out). Step 3- After you pull out the casing, you'll find two light switches (one is for the turn signal, and the other is for your brake light). Turn the light switch counter clockwise (assuming it's hanging upside down) and remove. Step 4- Switch the tail light bulb with new one (Advance Auto Parts: $4.17) There are little dots on the bottom of the bulb that need to be in the right place. You will notice that one is higher than the other. They need to be in the right slot otherwise it will not work. Step 5- Replace everything back as you uninstalled it. I also recommend to replace all the bulbs, that way you don't have to do it again later when they go out. It'll save you lots of time... Hope this helped! :)
How do you lower the suspension on rear of 1973 bug?
there are two flat plates leading to the axles, one on either side. first the car needs to be raised and put on axles stands, and the wheels removed. then these plates need to be unbolted from the axle, the cover plates unbolted from the torsion bar housings (the other end), flat plates (spring plates) pulled off their torsion bars and rotated slightly so that the wheel sits higher up. the procedure is essentially the same whether you have a beetle or a super beetle. be careful though, if you set the angle badly, you could easily end up with a skewiff bug! added to which, the plates are under a vast amount of pressure, so when you take them off, be very careful, or they'll snap down and smash your fingers beyond recognition. the best method is to use a jack underneath them and lever them off with a crowbar, whilst keeping arms/legs well away. hope this helps.
How do you change the spark plugs on a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
The spark plugs are located directly underneath the intake manifold. Therefore, It :the manifold: must be removed for access to the plugs. Its a stupid design..really! I believe this was done in order to make things harder and more expensive to the consumer. I know, I own one. Good luck!
It is an electircal issue. Many volkswagens, along with mine, have this problem. To this day my turn signals work on a schedule of their own because I am not willing to pay the high price to talke it to the untrustworthy dealer. Good Luck!
Well Im having this same problem and someone told me it was my relay. I dont really know what that is but it might help!

Vauxhall zafira alarm keeps going off how can i disconnect alarm?
It won't fix the cause, but to shut the thing up, turn to page 184 in the operators manual.. find the fuse map.. there should be 5 rows of 9 fuses... all colour coded.. top left, nearest the big fuses (which I have ignored) is fuse 6, to fuse 14 at the other end of the row.. 15 is under 6, going to 23, and so on. Pull out #13 <5amp>(top row second in from right) Pull #15 <5amp>(second row, furthest left Pull out #21.. <5amp>immediately under where #13 was Pull #32 third row, furthest right (20amp) This will neutralise the alarm, but keep the central locking.. DON'T leave the fuses in the car.. take them inside, and contact the garage at a more socialble hour.. this wil allow you to drive the car, saving a small fortune in pick up fees.
