Anyone know the proper wheel lug nut and bearing torque values for a 3 ton 1991 GMC TopKick?
250 foot pounds
Of COURSE they'll say it had nothing to do with the accident. Take the vehicle to a GOOD tire shop or suspension specialist and have them find the source of the vibration. If it's simple tire balance, just have them take care of it. If it's more than that, get an estimate and send a copy to the original shop that did the work. Let them know that the NEXT letter will be from your attorney.

How do you do an front end alignment on an 1989 Chevy Blazer?
First, in the rear, verify that the U-bolts haven't moved.
Then verify correct tire size and inflation pressure, and no shifted tire belts.
Then confirm correct ride height. If carrying cargo, unload it. If you have front torsion bars, turn the adjustment bolt (at rear of each torsion bar) until correct ride height is achieved.
Have someone start the engine and turn the steering wheel slowly just a bit left and right. Look for any abnormal movement in steering linkage or excessive play in steering gearbox. Correct as necessary.
With the truck on the ground, use a floor jack to jack up each lower control arm one at a time. If the control arm moves upwards at all before the spindle does, replace both the upper and lower ball joint on that side. Set the truck back on the ground.
Turn the cams at the upper control arms to set front camber and caster to specification.
Have someone sit in the truck with the engine running, foot firmly on brake and hold the steering wheel straight. Turn the tie rod adjusting sleeves to ajsust toe-in. If equipped with automatic transmission, greater accuracy may be achieved with transmission in Drive, but this can also be somewhat dangerous. A spring loaded bar placed between the front of the two front tires pushing them apart may also improve accuracy.

How do you do a wheel alignment on a 2000 Accord?
if you have the right equipment camber and caster is easy to adjust, but can be a pain to get it just right.. especially if you are doing it yourself.. (use wrenches to adjust, but location in degrees can be difficult with the small alignment tools)
it will take alot of time if you do it yourself, and I would recommend taking it to a shop, and just letting them do it.
front should have 2 bolts to loosen, one is lock, the other is adjustment. unloosen the lock, adjust to the desired location, then tighten the lock. the rear to my knowledge is only adjustable camber, but not caster, or caster, but not camber, or vice versa.. they make the cars to easily swap the parts out, but not to adjust.
its just the stupid throw away society we live in.
The added weight and the different offset does change the loads on the bearings, which can increase wear.

Most of the time if the steering wheel shakes, the balance issue is in the front. if you feel it shake in the seat, that usually means the rear.
