What are the symptoms of a car alternator failure?
Some symptoms of a car alternator failure include dim headlights, a drained battery, or the inability to start the vehicle. The alternator powers all aspects of the electrical system once the engine is running.
How do you replace an alternator on a1997 Honda goldwing 1500?
First, need to know which year. If its 1000, 1100, 1200, 1500, or 1800 ? Drop me a line on my message board.
How do you replace the alternator belt on a 1997 Ford Escort?
I found the instructions in a Chiltons #26242 book on Ford Escort/Tracer. I found it easier to remove the alternator as there is a idler pulley hidden beneath it that is a real bugger to get the belt around. Once I solved this problem everything else was easy. The tension pulley that Ford installed really helped as you don't have to adjust the belt.
How can the phase rotation of one alternator be changed in relationship to the other alternator?
alternators will charge in either direction; they are three-phase systems fed through an internal rectifier, so it is irrelevant.
Starter motor location Nissan Sentra se 2001?
The starter motor on a 2001 Sentra SE 2.0L is at the back of the engine bolted to the transmission just above the driveshaft.
How does an alternator keep a cars battery charged?
An alternator has diodes which transform ac voltage to dc voltage so that the battery gets negative and positive current on its poles thus making the battery to be charged.
What is the wiring schematic for the ignition on a 1990 Dodge Cummins 1-ton pickup?
A dodge Cummings diesel does not have an ignition system its a DIESEL
REAL ANSWER
Sorry about that poor answer above, obviously does not know what you are referring to (cannot even spell Cummins) I am a mechanic for Cummins. If you need the wiring schematic for your starter, fuel on/off solenoid and ribbon heater as pertaining to the ignition switch in the truck, I'd be happy to supply you with the information. jeebs_9@hotmail.com87 supra replaced alternator still wont charge any ideas why?
You probably have a bad battery. You probably have a bad battery.
Why is new car battery not working?
It may be defected,if not it should be ur alternator.get it tested

Why do humans not go through alternation of generations?
Human beings do exhibit an alternation of generations, but the haploid phase is extremely deemphasized while the diploid phase is overwhelmingly dominant. The haploid phase in humans that results from meiosis is restricted to only one cell, either an egg in the female or a sperm in the male. There is never a multicellular haploid structure as there usually are in plants. If such a multicellular haploid structure is required for a true alternation of generations, then humans do not exhibit alternation of generations. The human organism grows by mitosis (the diploid phase) only after fertilization. A plant sporophyte is diploid and it produces spores by meiosis. Humans, like plant sporophytes, are diploid and make haploid gametes by meiosis.
This is a dual-field alternator, they both are field connections.
How do you change the alternator on a 1990 Buick LeSabre?
Loosen the tensioner bolt on your 1990 Buick LeSabre alternator. Slide the alternator to the left and remove the alternator belt. Remove the wiring harness from the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.
Is the voltage regulator a part of the alternator on a 1995 Dodge Dakota V6?
No, the engine computer is the voltage regulator.
Can you use a 160 amp car alternator to run a 100 amp inverter?
160 amps is more than ample to run a 100 amp inverter.. what you need to look at is the required input amperage of the inverter and compare that to what's present in the circuit it's wired/plugged into. In most cases, you should be able to run up to a 400 amp inverter plugged into a 12v outlet, but again, you need to make sure.
It is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy on a car. It works by:the alternator creates an electric field by spinning a magnetic rotor with direct current inside stator windings. an ac voltage is developed and rectified dc. this voltage is compared to the battery voltage and determines the current through the rotor. if the battery voltage is lower than the alternator voltage, more current through the rotor increases the magnetic field and creates a larger alternator voltage. if the battery voltage is higher, less current through the rotor decreases the alternator voltage.
Does your 1992 Mitsubishi mighty max have a voltage regulator and where is it located at?
I have no clue where voltage regulator is at on 1994 Mitsubishi mighty max can you help?
1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport New battery New alternator still stalling Any suggestions?
Please describe the "stalling" in full detail. Example: "It dies when I come to a stop after a long drive". etc.
my car lights get very damm, and it wont start ather i have stop.
You may have a short in the electrical system but that would show if the battery does not charge. The battery could also be bad from the factory even if carrying a charge. Try a different battery and see what happens. You may also have a fuel pump going out or plugged fuel filter to the carb or off the gas tank. If you can hear a 'ping' when your car is running, replace the water pump.
It sounds like an ECM (Electronic Control Module) or Ignition coil. Check for spark and then, if no spark, take the coil to be tested to isolate if it is the coil or ECM. ECM is located inside the distributor and controls spark to each plug.

How do you replace the alternator on a 1989 Nissan 240SX?
Drive the car up onto ramps or jack the car up to change the alternator you need have access from the bottom of the engine. Access to the alternator is very tight. First disconnect the battery. Accessing from the top loosen the drive belt and remove the adjusting bolt, ground wire, battery wire and plug in connector from alternator, do this before removing the bottom bolt from alternator. Once bottom bolt is removed the alternator is to be taken out the bottom, it is a tight but it will come out. Hope this helps.
im going on the assumption that you are referring to the belt back on the tensioner cause there is no reason to remove the tensioner to install an alt. if it is a matter of putting the belt on, make sure that the belt is routed correctly through the pulleys. then remove the belt off the alternator, put the belt on the tensioner THEN pull the tensioner back with a wrench on the tensoiner adjusting nut. slip the belt on the alternator and slowly release the wrench. i hope this was helpful
Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt. If the battery and alt test ok than check the connections to the alternator and battery.
Make life easy for yourself, just jump-start the engine, and while it's running put a meter across the battery. If you're getting about 14 V across the battery (after the jumper cables have been removed), then your alternator is ok. If it's BELOW 12 V, you probably have a bad alternator.
