Will any light come on when it's messing up? If not, you might have a problem with the ignition lock cylinder (where the key goes) or the ignition switch (the electrical part inside the steering wheel). Good Luck!!

most times it is a bad coil pack there are three ignition coils mounted on top of the ignition module. one coil supplys 2 cylinders with spark. original coils have the cylinder number stamped on the coil so you know what coil feeds #y cylinder. 80 percent its a coil failure 20 percent the module fail and signal is interrupted to coil.if you don't want to just change coil.without proof,you can switc coil with another remember to mark the number of the cylinders on the ignition wires before you switch coils as the coils have a firing order that must be followed. when you switch coils and test drive check the coses for misfire again if the miss moves to a different cylinder number the coil is bad. if the number is still four with the coils switched,the ignition module if probably bad, these coils usually tes good when you ohm test them but these coils usually break down under engine load and heat,your coil can pass a ohm test but still be bad. there cheap enough just put new #4 coil in it. p.s you need a 5.5 millimeter socket to remove coils

When the mount is broke off the engine you will hear a loud clicking sound from then engine being unstable and shifting around. Listen close enough and you can hear it shifting when the vehicle jerks.

Its a pain but not that bad. You don't have to move the engine but it might help. Go to Harbour Freight and get: (1) A stubby fine tooth ratchet wrench (2) They also sell a regular size ratchet you can slide out and extend (3) a short extension (4) a swivel (5) A $3 plastic wire boot puller. Using one or the other or a combination, you can reach in from the left side of the car just under neath the alternator and get to the plug wires and plugs on two of the back ones. The farthest one away from you, you have to go in over the top. You can carefully find a spot to sit on the engine and get that one. You'll need to use the stubby and have a little arm strength to get them undone. One tip on removing spark plug wires is to grab them as close to the engine as possible and twist back and forth about 1/4 inch to break free the rubber gripping the insulator. Then use that handy dandy Harbour freight boot puller to get it off.

when cold runs fine holding tack at 2500 rpm then clears cylinder

I have water leaking into a 1997 Buick LeSabre problem. I cannot find where it comes into the car. It pools in the rear passenger seat driver's side floor. It can happen even while the car is parked.

The thermostat on a 1992 LeSabre should be inside of the top radiator hose inlet. You can easily change it by removing the top hose and water inlet.

Possible a bad computer chip on your car igition key or you may have to get a mechanic to reset the sequrity code for you. Try a different ignition key before you do anything else. The chip is that little black thing that's on the side of your key. I had a mechanic bypass my security in the ignition.

The harmonic balancer on Mitsubishi engines is located as an integral part of the crank pulley (I have experience with the 90-99 4G63 inline-4 Mitsu engines; other engines by this marque may differ).

check for leaks.... sit in the back and have someone hose down the vehicle.... find the leak

Up under the dash over the steering column there are two flashers and the lower one is for the 4ways

I wonder if there is a problem with an actuator that moves a vane ....which keeps the two sides separate or together as needed... that is disconnected, or has a vacuum line cracked or leking? I really have no idea, but just wanted to get this started... cheers, Lyman i had the same problem. diconnected the battery and when i reconnected the battery the digital climate control started to blink. i found out there is a glitch in the ecm and you have to have your computer re booted by a scope. then it should return to normal.

"First, secure the vehicle safely! I do not recommend using the cars own tire jack as a sole means of support. A pair of axle stands or steel ramps work best. When using ramps, block the rear wheels, put it in park and set the emergency brake if so equipped.

Tools Required:

- a worklight, gloves and eye protection

- an oil filter wrench

- a socket and ratchet that fits the oil pan drain plug snugly

- a shallow pan capable of holding up to 10 litres of used oil

- shop rags, a pair of rubber gloves

- your choice of motor oil and a new oil filter

- a way to raise and support the vehicle safely and securely

If the vehicle is cold, run the vehicle for a few minutes to 'warm' the oil, it will allow the oil to drain faster.

Remove the oil filler cap located on top of the engine. Place the shallow pan beneath the oil pan under the car and locate the oil pan drain plug bolt. The bolt or drain plug is generally a large hex-shaped bolt that threads into the oil pan. The engine oil pan is affixed to and located directly beneath the engine.

You will need a snug fitting socket or you run the risk of stripping the drain plug bolt. Unscrew the bolt until you start to see small drips appearing, position the pan, as the oil will stream out. Allow the plug to drop into the shallow pan for now. Allow the oil pan to fully drain and move to the front of the vehicle.

Locate the oil filter and use the oil filter wrench to remove it, be careful as the oil filter is full of oil! Remove the oil filter and empty the oil into the shallow pan and discard the filter.

Grab the new filter and apply a thin coating of oil on the rubber gasket of the new filter. Fill the new filter about half full with fresh motor oil and set aside. Take your shop rags and thoroughly clean the the oil filter adapter (located on the engine) till it looks clean and free of any oil and install the new filter.

Be careful when threading the oil filter on to the oil filter adapter, especially if its on an angle, the filter should thread easily with little resistance. Hand tighten only, do not use the filter wrench to tighten the filter. The filter should sit flush with the adapter, wipe any excess oil with rags.

By now, the engine should be drained of oil, pull the shallow pan out and put on a pair of rubber gloves. Locate the drain plug and clean it with a rag. There maybe a small plastic seal, keep that as well. Set the old oil aside and carefully thread the drain plug bolt and seal back into the engine oil pan by hand, this will avoid cross-threading the bolt. Tighten with ratchet but don't use an excessive amount of force to tighten this bolt, just make sure it is snug.

Lower the vehicle. Follow manufacturers specifications when filling the engine with fresh motor oil. An old one litre bottle cut in half can be used as a funnel if need be.

DO NOT overfill, check the dipstick wipe and check again. Once you have filled the engine with oil replace the oil filler cap tightly and start the engine. Check for leaks around the filter and oil drain plug area, if no leaks, you're good to go. Pour the used oil into the containers you purchased the new oil in and take it to your local garage and they will recycle it for you.

COOLANT

There are coolant level indicators usually located on the side of the coolant reservoir. Usually labelled COLD - HOT or ADD - FULL If your coolant level is BELOW the COLD or ADD mark, you'll need to add coolant.

TRANSMISSION FLUID

There's a dipstick near the back of that engine, usually with a red handle. Checktransmission fluid when the vehicle is running and at operating temperature. Check the fluids color, it should be pink and free of dirt or any other particles. It should not smell burnt.

If the fluid is very dark, you might consider installing a new transmission filter the same day you decide to do the oil change. Its a fairly simple install, just be careful not to warp the transmission pan by over-torquing the pan bolts. Prior to remounting the transmission pan. Apply a thin bead of O2-sensor friendly RTV sealant to the mating surface of the transmission pan, this helps keep the transmission pan gasket in place during reassembly and forms a good seal.

You might want to print this off.

The tracks that the window rollers ride in are guncked up with old lube and dirt. I just cleaned the tracks out and lubed them with a light grease and my windows worked again. The window motor heats up and quits is the problem. If you don't attend to this you will have to spend up to $300.00 per motor plus labor to replace.

Probably because they're in the first stage of conking out entirely. If they go back up or partway up after you let them "cool off" for a few minutes, that's the problem. Replacing the motors is the only fix, there's no repairing them. But parts stores should have them.

Some small cooling systems can be quickly overcome by cold air rushing thru an open grill; This is why you will sometimes see 'winterfronts' on some vehicles. Even cardboard in front of the grill will help.Make sure your radiator is full; even if it is a little low it will make a huge difference in it's ability to maintain heat as cold air rushes thru it. Loosen the tensioner bolt on your 1990 Buick LeSabre alternator. Slide the alternator to the left and remove the alternator belt. Remove the wiring harness from the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.

Possibly the brake light switch is bad. I had a recall on a Ford Taurus that spoke of this problem. The brake light switch releases a solenoid that holds the shifter in park.

It's probably telling you there's a potentially dangerous brake problem on your car. You definitely want to investigate. It could be something as simple as stuck or overly tight parking brake cable too. But if you're not comfortable doing brake work, take it to a shop ASAP.

blower motor blows hot or cold air over evaporator

The short answer is yes. There is a pressure control that will prevent the compressor from running and damaging it. There are other reasons so it would be best to let someone who knows their way around auto air conditioners check it. Air conditioning systems can be very dangerous to mess with, if you don't know what you are doing. even without the engine running. As a novice mechanic 40 years ago I almost broke my hand taking apart a compressor that I thought was without any freon.

Pulley is pressed onto pump, you need a puller to remove.

Because it liked screaming at your mice while it was shirtless.........
