How do you change the coolant temp sensor in a 1998 ford explorer?
I shall not go into to much detail as you should not be undertaking tasks if you dont know the basics, CARS KILL WHEN FOOLS FIDDLE. Long and short of it is NOT QUICKLY. you need to remove the Air intake then locate the the sensor, it is one of two identical side by side at the front of your motor just behind the thermostat housing where the top rad hose mounts. Screw out the old one and pop in the new (dont over tighten it just a good nip) fit new gasket to intake and refit in reverse of dismantle. you will loose coolant doing this task so dont forget to top that back up after your done, Now looking from the front to the back of the truck the sensors are as follows- Left side is for your dash gauge usually has a red cap on the conecting wires, and right side is for controlling your cold start this usually has a grey cap on the connecting wire but that colour code may vary so dont take that as gospel. Hope this helps Rob.
2002 buick rendezvous how do you change a front wheel bearing?
i recently changed mine ... and have done several other cars... it is quite easy all in all ... you have to take off the tire... then undo the brake caliper ... remove the pads... then undo the bolts for the hardware that holds that.. two bigger bolts... i then brake the axle nut using a four foot breaker bar that i have ..... make sure you use jack stands as this requires some cranking... take off the rotor... up under and behind the hub is a nut that has a cotter pin which must be removed to take off that nut... use the closed end of a wrench to break it loose... once done use a pry bar applied to the a cut out of the control arm... pry down hard and weasle the hub assemby off of the lower ball joint.. to the side there is another ball joint you must undo that and pry it out as well... at this point there are three bolts on the hub to get off... not a easy task but it can be done... remove... apply the new one and redo all the above... that should about do it

How do you replace fuel pump on 2002 Buick Rendezvous?

Typically Bank 1 Sensor 1 refers to the same bank that cylinder 1 is on. Being that there is 3 o2 sensors on this vehicle,1 sensor is always before the cataletic converter. Bank 1 sensor 1 should be located to the front of the vehicle. Dude, I just changed this same sensor on a 2000 model so unless the model changed a ton from the following year this should help you. You need to get underneath the car. Because the engine is turned sideways the first sensor on Bank 1 is near closer to the driver than the front of the vehicle. Just follow the tailpipe up to the engine. The first one goes up and it's in a tight position, but do what you can to get to it. Lot's of WD-40. good luck. There are 4 of them on this car. Bank one sensor one is the one in the manifold(upstream of the cat for that side) on the rear side of the engine. It's technically the right side since as mentioned the engine is sideways. Of the 4 it's the hardest to get at. It's always th eone whos heater fails because its location has the worst conditions. I paid $40 to have it changed. And make sure you have the right heatewr wattage or the check engine light will stay on although this won't hurt anything. Using the factory part rather than aftermarket is the safe way to ensure this.

How do you open and change front side marker lights for 2002 VW Jetta?
You have to remove the bolts inside the wheel well, remove the fender that is inside of the wheel well, and then you will have access to the bulb.
They don't make it easy :p
Do not take the inner fender well out. These lights pop out, although like most German made VW stuff, it can be difficult. There is a spring loaded end on these lenses. Push on them and you will find the end that pushes in. The end that pushes in allows the other end to pop out, in theory. The end that pops out has two small prongs that like to break, causing the owner to have buy new ones. Surprise surprise. Use a very small flat blade screw driver and push in on the spring loaded end, then on the opposite end, pry the end back and out. The end that pushes in allows the other side to slide back and out. Putting them back in is worse and if they break, you will have to buy new ones. The bulb holder pulls straight out. Don't twist on on and the bulb is a 194

How do you take off a seized lug nut on an alloy rim the lug nut is counter sunk in the wheel?
Answer: Apply lots of thin oil and let it work it's way into the joint to loosen any rust. Put the rest of the nuts back on and tighten them, then lower the car to let the weight of the car keep the wheel from turning. Then apply lots of force. Use an impact wrench or Uncle Louie's wrestling arm. If you apply enough force, one of three things will happen. The nut will break loose, the nut will strip on the outside, or the stud will start to turn in the hole.
If the nut is stripped on the outside, tighten all the other nuts to make sure the wheel is being held firmly against the hub to minimize the load on the stripped nut, then -
1) Try using needle nose visegrips to grip the nut very tightly. Turn the pliers using a wrench (OK, this probably won't get you anywhere, but it's the easiest place to start).
2) Try pounding on a cheap (garage sale) socket that is slightly smaller than the nut. This might trash the socket, so don't use a nice one.
3) Use a commercially available "nut remover", if you feel like the job is worth the cost of the tool. Basically it's a socket with lots of "bite" to grip stripped nuts. A "nut splitter" won't work since your nut is recessed.
4) Use an air chisel to GENTLY cut the nut in half - you will have to replace both the stud and the nut since both will be destroyed.
5) Use a dremel to cut the nut in half. This will take a long time, but is a good bet if you want to avoid damaging the wheel.
If the nut and stud are turning in the hole together you could -
1) Tack weld the back of the stud to the hub, remove the nut and cut the weld to replace the stud (and possibly the hub, since the stud has probably trashed the hole it was meant to fit into).
2) Use the air chisel as mentioned above, to remove the nut from the loose stud, but be careful - it would be easy to damage the wheel if you slip.
3) Drill down the center of the stud and thread a 3" long bolt into the hole and cut the head (only the head) off the bolt. Then place a deep socket onto the nut, over the bolt shank. Hold the bolt with a pair of locking pliers and turn the socket with another pair of pliers.
4) Drill down the center of the stud as above, and keep enlarging the hole until only the nut is left.
5) Lower the jack SLIGHTLY to allow some weight of the car to rest on the wheel, causing the stud to jam cross-ways in the hole. ONLY do this if you have very good control of the jack, and have jack stands in place in case the stud snaps.
6) Use a dremel tool to cut the nut in half (slow and tedious, but will work when all else fails).
7) If you have access to the back side of the stud, drill in the center of the "head" of the stud about 3.8" deep. Then keep enlarging the hole until the head falls off.
You will have to assess the situation yourself and decide which method you think you can be successful with. Consider your own skills, the tools you have available, the risk of damaging the alloy wheel. Don't ever use a cutting torch! You will melt the wheel, warp the rotor, and trash the whole assembly. Good luck.
All of the above rubbish takes hours and still doesn't work, I Googled, "locking wheel nut remover" found a guy in Reading and he has a tool he made and it took 10 minutes to remove the four.

How often do you change transmission fluid 2005 Buick Terrazza?
Though this answer doesnt really go here there is no section for it. I would first check the owners manual for the recommended change intervals they may be different times depending on how you drive. i believe its 50K miles for the Rendezvous, You can aslo look at the fluid it should be a deep red if its dark or smells burned then replace it.
I change the fluid and filter on my 2007 Rendezvous AWD at 40,000 and it was so nasty! I just changed it again today @ 67,700 miles and it was really nasty. I called the dealership one day and they suggested changing it every 30k miles to be on the safe side. By the way, make sure you use the correct transmission fluid for your vehicle. Newer GM vehicles take Dexron VI. Most of the repair places are unaware of using the Dexron VI.
Is the Buick Rendezvous cxl 3.4 an all wheel drive or front wheel drive vehicle?

How does the vehicle act when the body control module is bad on a Buick Rendezvous?
the dash stuff acts like it is possesed, goes on and off, i also heard a clicking noise like it was resetting
Why does your car make a moaning noise when turning?
Check your power steering fluid.
If your car has Versatrak all wheel drive, it probably the transfer case and rear differential. Changing the fluid will correct the problem. Make sure you use General Motors Versatrak Fluid only, nothing else is approved for these units!! It's expensive but it will correct the problem. You will need 4 bottles of fluid (2 liters). The transfer case is directly behind the transmission, simply drain and refill it and the rear diff after driving a few miles to warm them up. Take the car to a parking lot and make four or five figure 8's to get the new fluid into the clutch packs. The moaning should be better, but it may take about 500 miles of driving to completely eliminate it.
If that doesnt do the trick then its probably the belt. Especially during winter they get dried out or tighten up and crack so replacing it should stop the noise. Be easy on turns you dont wanna bust a cv (constant velocity) joint and it strains the belt the harder you turn.

How do you remove the oil cap on a 2003 Buick Rendezvous?
1) Twist it coulterclockwise, then pull it out or
2) Repeatedly strike it with a large hammer until it pops off.
I had this problem on my 2002 CX except my traction sytem also kicked in at 60 mph and the brake peddle vibrating and not letting me push it down - scary!!! After four trips (and 3 times of this scaring me to death) the mechanic finally figured out that the wheel speed sensor was somehow coming partially unplugged. Never could figure out how this happened but after taping up the wiring harness to the sensor, I have had no more problems with it. Just another Buick screw up that they don't fix on these!!
