The general idea is to have the tires rotated at the same time you do your standard 3,00 mile oil change. However, some vehicles do not suggest rotating the tires till 5,000 or even 7,500 miles. If you have a manual try checking to see what it suggests. Otherwise, just go with the usual 3,000 mile rotation.

To get the new smell out of vinyl fabric add baking soda to the wash water. Hot water by itself will also help eliminate the smell.

The brake fluid in the clutch master cylinder is leaking out, or has air in the line btween the master and slave most likely. It is probably the slave cylinder inside the bell housing on the shaft that is the culprit. They go out alot. especially in colder wheather. The good news is that it is under 100 bucks for the part. The bad news is to get to it takes about 8 hours under the truck, or at a mechanic for 900 bucks at least. They will usually change the whole disk, plate, slave, release bearing and pilot bearing all in one shot. have them check the rear main seal on the crank while theey are in there. It will only be anothe 25 bucks or so. I just changed all of that for under 1000.00 at a shop. parts and labor. Buy Luk clutch kit. it is the best one out there.

Many things can cause a burning smell under the hood of your car, if the smell is accompanied by smoke you are most likely looking at a fluid leak dripping onto something hot and burning off. If it smells sweet this would be a sign of a coolant leak. A ozone type smell would most likely be caused by a burnt clutch (standard transmission) or brakes hanging up and staying applied. burnt clutch smell would be expected if you have a new driver learning to drive a stick. An exhaust leak would smell, well, quite frankly like exhaust which is a dangerous gas to be inhaling (CO2, CO, etc). either way if your car is smelling funky you should really have a professional auto technician check it out to prevent damage to your health, the environment or future damage to your vehicle.

White smoke = Coolant entering the combustion chamber. STOP driving this car until this is repaired or you will destroy this engine.

Black Smoke = Overly rich fuel/air mixture. Too much fuel not enough air. STOP driving until this is repaired or you will ruin the converter and O2 sensor and possible do other damage.

Blue Smoke = Engine is burning oil. Worn rings is normally the cause.

This normally indicates a refrigerant leak. STOP USING YOUR AC IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THIS SMELL!! The fumes from the fluid in your AC system are highly toxic. The leak needs to be sorted out before the AC can be used again.

If the code shows to be a rich code....one would suspect a faulty fuel injector/injectors, this rich condition can also cause the catalytic converter to clog up and burn...call on a certified technician who is computer code,diagnostic savy in this field and learn from this specialist while he/she attempts to find the under lying problem with your vehicle....could be a clogged air filter, fuel injector/injectors replacement/ service, check timing belt/chain also for possible jump time, dirty fuel(flush fuel tank replace fuel filter, replace or flush faulty clogged fuel injectors) test O2 sensor, may be burnt out from rich condition not allowing the injectors to run lean.

You may want to check your heater core . Look for dampness on the passenger side floor board . When you run your defroster does the window fog more or get an oily sheen? Does your heat work ok ? Are you losing antifreeze. Also some window washing fluid smell can enter the vehicle (shot in the dark) . have a professional check to see if you have a small freon leak answer heater core is leaking, again nothing to do with freon

It is mildew. Pour chlorine bleach down the intake vents in front of the windshield (where the screens are) you should raise the hood to access them. When you are finished, (let it sit) rinse with water. Fluids SHOULD pour out of drain hose (poking thru the firewall) from the evaporater box under the dash. ***A cautionary note for using bleach, please make sure that you dilute the mixture with at least 50% water, and do not be in the vehicle if the system is running or shortly after applying the bleach (bleach is obviously caustic and the fumes can be very dangerous to humans and pets). You could also use a spray from Toyota parts department made for this...

The max setting for the Air Conditioning utilizes internal air only, so think of where your feet are located (directly at the internal inlet port for the system), so if your feet smell like vinegar, etc. A solution is to spray disinfectant of choice directly into the upper dash vents with the system off and or to spray into the outside inlet ports at the bottom of the windshield with the system running and the outside airflow button selected.

Your vehicle may also have a charcoal filter for purifying the internal air, it may need to be changed, as well.

1. Do you try to top off when you fill up your car? That can cause it.

2. Does your gas cap fit tight?

3. Do you carry gas in your trunk?

4. Crawl underneath the back of your car. Check the place where a tube comes out of your gas tank and see if it is slightly damp.

5. Open the hood, you may see a tube coming from the rear of the car (a gas line). Feel it and see if you can feel a slight bit of moisture. If it is an older car, you might see a little glass bowl with an orange liquid in it. Check that.

If your TCM is not working properly, you may be having a problem shifting into higher gears. If your driving above 25mph and your tranny in staying in 2nd gear, you will smell the tranning and engine overworking. What does it smell like?

well idon't know why but i can give you some suggestions

1st change the petrol you use

2nd go to your local car mechanic to ask him to see if he can find the problem
(that should not cost anything if it does their ripping you off)

and lastly it may be because its an old car and it is struggling to keep as efficient as it used to be

It can be a $40 to four hundred dollar repair but it all depends on the vehicle and year model and and how easy it is to get to the bolts of the manifold or time required to remove other parts to get to the manifold. Most all service shops have a flat rate repair estimate guide and can tell you that price with a simple phone call. Those prices are a high side price. An honest shop will charge you less if the repair takes less time and the max if it turns sour.

Stop driving it immediately. You have a blown head gasket or a cracked/warped head. Serious engine damage will occur if you continue to drive.

You need to have the fan replaced!!! Make sure to get one from Chevy because it is an OEM product... Don't get a rebuilt or replaced from your Schmucks.

Probably - your head gasket is blown. Antifreeze will be coming out of the tail (exhaust) pipe.

If they smell bad.

You can also test them by floating them in water. A bad egg will float (it has gas inside), but a good egg will sink to the bottom and lie on its side.

There is no difference in viscosity. A 10w30 full synthetic is the same as a 10w30 blend.
