Check Engine Light

A CHECK ENGINE light indicates there is a problem. You can't just turn it off. The computer will have to be scanned, Most Auto Zone parts stores will scan it for free. The Scan will tell you what needs attention, repaired or replaced. When they scan the computer, they can re-set the light, BUT it will only come back on after about 50 or so miles, or even right away, until the repair is done. It can come on due to anything from a dirty air filter all the way to a bad engine. You should have it scanned and see what the issue is.

With a scan tool or by unhooking the battery.

Clean the throttle body and the two ports at the bottom. There are 2 ports that allows exhaust gases to recycle to the intake manifold. These often get clogged and cause a p0400 code. It it does not work try cleaning the egr valve and connecting pipes. They may be clogged also.

I'm guessing that you are wanting to know how to get the Check Engine Light to go off. It would be a VERY good Idea to have a qualified shop hook it up and find out WHY it is on and then Fix the problem that your On-board Computer is detecting. Hoipe This Helps.

Look for a code reader to read the diagnostic codes. You can usually borrow, rent or buy one from most auto parts retailers.

I have never heard of this one! The SRS system does a self check everytime you start the car and every few minutes thereafter it rechecks most of the componants.If I had to guess it has something to do with wiring and not a componant.Resistance in an elecctrical circuit will increase and decrease with temperature so as youre engine warms it could change the resistance in the circuit and cause the light.(especially if a wire is damaged or misplaced) That is just a guess though and you should really have the dealer read out the fault memory in the srs system.

RAM shows during OS boot up and will say something alone the line of DIMM 0 CHANNEL 0 Training Error PMU

Hard drive, PSU, Motherboard just wont allow it to boot up, but may be followed by POST prompts or error messages pointing toward that specific device.

CPU will not let it boot up past OS.

This can all be checked via BIOS in your diagnostic testing.

Depending on what the original problem was, the light may still stay on until it is turned off with a scanner. Even the inexpensive versions have the capability of resetting the check engine light. You may even be able to get AutoZone to turn it off for you for free. If it comes back on, the problem isn't fixed or you have another problem.

Trouble code P0304 means:Cylinder 4 misfire detected

On the bright side, the fact the "S" indicator light came on indicates it is an electrical problem rather than a mechanical one. When the A/T control unit senses an abnormality in the input or output systems, the "S" indicator light in the gauge assembly will blink. You have an electrical problem with the transmission. The check engine light may be on simply because the transmission is having a problem or it may be on due to an emissions problem. Have the transmission looked at first by a professional and have him reset the CE light. If it comes back on then you also have an emissions problem. Your priority right now is to have the transmission looked at.

Plugged catalytic converter?

The check gauges light comes on when one of the gauges is not in the safe range.

Try diconnecting the battery for one minute. I have a 2005 Murano and it actually resets nicely after 15 seconds of disconnected. Just leave key on and radio, and you can tell right away.

try dis connecting the battery for 5 minutes or so. If this doesn't work, you may have to take it to a shop and have it hooked up to their computer system to reset the ECM and check for any other codes.
