If the oil is leaking from the front seal you will need to remove the oil pan and replace both the front and rear seals and the rail gaskets.

it wont have as low of #"s but you would have to change the inatke and than it would have a vacuum egr but its a big feat is there something wrong with the tpi? like why would u want to do that?

Plug and play my friend. Disconnect battery. Remove all the wiring (positive(red), negative(black) wires and another very large wire located on the back. with all wires removed ( remember to take note as to where they all came from!!) Remove the bolts attaching the starter to the car and holding the starter securely in your hand, wiggle er out from the flywheel and the mounting brackets on the engine.

Take the new starter and observe as to where exactly all the wires would go by remembering where they all were on the old one.

When putting the new one on, i like to attach all the wires first then put it in EXACTLY the way the old came out, screw in bolts and make sure it is tight. aluminum gaskets are appropriate and will come in the box with the new starter.

you have to remove the steering wheel. Then there is a locking hub with a snap ring holding it in place remove it . Then remove the turnsignal actator. then there will either be a torques head screw of a phyllips head screw right above the lock clyinder that must come out. then the lock cylinder will come right out. this is a tough job because you need a lot of paitience and pay close attention to how things come apart. No you need the EGR valve as these gases need to be vented from the crankcase. An EGR unit that has failed will cause your vehicle to run rough and use more fuel. The three letters in EGR stand for " Exhaust Gas Return". If your valve has failed it is best to replace it.

+_+_+ Actually the above answer is wrong. EGR valve system is used to add a small amount of exhaust gas to the combustion chamber for emission purposes. It also keeps the temperature of you engine lower. It is not active at idle or at WOT (wide open throttle) when they fail they put the exhaust gasses in the combustion chamber at idle making it run rough. IT IS NOT NECESSARY! Block off plates can be purchased or created. +_+_+

+_+_+ PCV Stands for Positive crankcase ventilation and that is a small device in the valve cover. +_+_+

First you have to dissconnect the positive battery cable. Then you have to remove the 2 5/8 bolts that hold the starter in. Then you can move the starter towards the front of the truck and swing it down nose first. Then you have to remove the thick power cable 1/2 in nut. Then the small solenoid cable. Then completely remove the starter and place it in the box the new on came it. Take the new starter and connect the solenoid wire and power wire. Place the nose back in to the hole where the fly wheel is and slightly turn the first 5/8 in bolt back in to place. Then the second 5/8 in bolt. Then tighten both down. Connet the positive battery cable and Your done.
