What year is my 350 CHEVY engine 10243880?

1996-2000 SBC 350 2 or 4 bolt main and ZZ4, roller cam, one piece rear main seal

Apparently these blocks were actually used i a variety of vehicles, mostly trucks though with the 906 heads that breathed about 20% less on exhaust. The ZZ4's had 330 hp stock and aluminium heads (im pretty sure) and a MUCH better cam.

What does an o2 sensor do?

What is the timing for a Chevy S-10 pickup?

It depends on your engine. Look on for the label on the fan shroud, in the front of the engine compartment. It will be with all the other emissions stuff. My 1991 2.8L is 10 degrees BTC. This is not something you generally have to mess with, unlike in the good old days when ignition timing drifted as the points wore. I've had my truck for ten years and 80,000 miles and never had to mess with the engine timing. Though I check it every now and then, just for sport.

How to adjust play in the steering on a 1997 Chevy truck?

You have worn out front end / steering parts. here's something you need to CHECK. PIP-MAN ARM, iDLER ARM, tie-rod ends, center drag link and the ball joints. 1995 Chevy Cheyenne check-gauge light came on and now the truck won't shift into overdrive?

When the check gauge light comes on in the 1995 Chevy Cheyenne, it means there is a problem with the transmission. If the truck won't shift in to overdrive, there is most likely a problem with the VSS system. The transmission needs to be removed so the VSS can be accessed.

How do you remove the ignition cylinder on a 1994 Toyota pickup?

I had to deal with this problem not long ago. I removed it by drilling away the pin that is at the bottom of the casing. Once the pin has been drilled all you have to do is pull it out. In order to get this done I bought a drill bit at the Home Depot (a California hardware store) and used it along a high speed Dremmel drill. I took out the whole steering wheel assembly in order to do it quicker. If you do this, don't forget to mark the steering wheel location before removal and also to use safety glasses when drilling.

How do you remove a windshield from a 1970 Chevrolet truck?

Get a strong razor knife and cut the rubber from the outside exposing the edge of the glass as the old rubber will often not be usable - a second cut from the top down the sides, a little inside pressure, a blanket to set the glass once removed - a assistant to help is nice - takes about five minutes

Will 1997 Chevy truck doors fit a 1991 Chevy truck?

Yes, as long as the model is a c/k model (c1500 c2500 c3500 k1500 k2500 k3500) or in other words a full-size pickup. Body panels can be interchanged between any 1988-1998 gm full-size pickup. However, a 1997 door will come with a different interior door panel and pwr window/ pwr lock/ pwr mirror switches.

SO... yes go ahead and buy the 97 chev door, but be sure to save your interior door panel and switches, plus the guts (wiring harness and such).

Just for your future reference:

  • GM Full-size Pickup Generations,
  • Interior parts match 1988-1989, 1990-1994, and then changed to late model style 1995-1998
  • Like engines match 1988-1995, all of which are the 'TBI' version, until 1996-1998 when the fuel injected 'vortec' was introduced.

Are the auto and manual engines the same?

As long as the engine is the same size, manual or auto transmissions should bolt up properly. If the vehicle has different engine options, make sure they are the same engines or else they will not bolt up.

That's the simple and basic answer... Going from one to the other isn't simple plug and play. Manual transmissions are simple, require gear oil, no cooling for the oil, no independent ecu, and usually different length of a drive shaft or CV axles (rear or front wheel drive). An automatic require automatic tranny oil specific to the make's requirements, hooks up to the radiator to cool the oil, and an independent ecu. Wiring is also different along the engine's wiring harness. Also, The alternator's wiring harness maybe affected. Relays maybe required aswell.

Can a manual and auto tranny be changed/switched? Yes

Is it practical? Absolutely not! There is alot to it that just a bolt on. Auto to Manual is easier, but you will need hydrolic lines for the clutch.

How do you disable a factory installed car alarm on a 97 gmc cheyenne?

Hi, my name is Cris and I work as a tech on alarm systems. I may be able to help you disable your alarm. I, however, would need you to answer some questions.
First of all, would you be able to post some pictures of the actual alarm(I.E. - LED, remotes) on this forum? How long ago did you buy this truck? Was it from a used car lot or a certified dealership?
All of these questions can help me determine what manufacturer installed the alarm on your truck and therefore better explain how to disable it.
Either way, a very overgeneralized and crude way to disable/remove the alarm from your vehicle is fairly easy if you know where to look. A few places may consist of.... If you remove the driver side kick panel, it may reveal some wiring that is almost unmistakeable. All car manufacturers like clean wiring. Alarm companies 'tap' into these wires to integrate the Alarm. Most companies never cut and splice, instead they have a very noticeable 'tap' that looks like a very small plug that was crimped to a wire. Usually you will see five or more of these 'taps' behind the kick panel. Those you can just pull off because the plugs belong to the alarm's wiring harness, not the vehicle's.
Also, if you look under the driver side dash, you may be able to see the alarm's 'brain' or control unit. Usually, the 'brain' consists of one or two small plastic boxes with a few plugs attatched. The 'brain' is usually anchored with one or more zip ties. You may be able to disable the alarm by merely unplugging the 'brain'. I suggest trying this first and then attempt to start the vehicle. Most alarm companies have a starter diable therefore certain alarm companies have a tamper secured 'brain' that does not allow you to start the car if it is unplugged. So try unplugging one at a time and try to start the vehicle after each. If that works, your fine.
If it doesnt, the last thing would be detatching the panel under the steering column. there will be another set of 'taps' that you must unplug. Any wires that are cut at that point will usually be crimped together. Remove the crimps and crimp the vehicle's wire's back together.(those are color coded for your convinience. At that point, attemp to start the vehicle.
If that doesnt work, answer some of my questions and post some pictures of the areas ive explained to you. Good Luck
