engine has 2 bleeders intended for filling cooling system only! they are not to be opened while engine is running or hot. the best method I've found for filling the cooling system on these is as follows:
open the lowest bleeder first (the 1 near the throttle body).
remove the radiator cap, fill very slowly until coolant flows out of bleeder, close the bleeder and don't touch it again. next instead of opening the other bleeder (the one near the bypass hose at front right of engine), disconnect the bypass hose and insert a funnel into the hose, fill at hose until coolant comes out of the radiator fill and install the radiator cap and do not remove it again, next continue to fill at hose until coolant comes out of pipe which you disconnected hose from. at this point your cooling system is completely full. reconnect the bypass hose and don't touch anymore bleeders, you're done. make sure there is enough coolant in the overflow bottle. Again, this is all done with a cool non running engine. after cooling system is properly filled if you still have an overheating problem look somewhere else, it's not because there's air in the system. i have shown technicians this filling procedure it works well.
I am another reader who had this problem...greatest advise that i had read...and it worked....thank you for this.

What causes Rattle in steering column on rough areas slow speed.?
poor GM engineering! All these impalas do this at some point, most within a year! You can ignore it! The dealership has a lubrication bandaid but it is expensive and does not last long. It treats the symptom, it is not a cure to the root problem that has no real solution!!!

The 2007 Chevrolet Impala has hook-end wiper arms. See the Sources and Related Links section below for installation videos and correct attachment/length wiper blade sizes. Also, if you purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through. Very simple.

What offset is needed to clear 18 and 20 inch wheels on a 1960 impala?
Zero offset. I have a 1960 impala with 20x8.5 on the rear with 245/35/20's and the front are 18x8 with 245/40/18
If the car is lowered you will need to drop the shock mount to let the diff drop down to be able to get the wheel under the arch if doing it on the ground.

I would say you either have a rod knocking or lifter knocking. I know in the 3.8 litre motors they are known to knock alittle when you cold start them. Most Grand Ams, Grand Prixs are like this. My sister has a 2002 Grand Am that does this and the noise goes away once it's warmed up. I would also double check and make sure your oil is full. get your car to a garage for a def solution.
I had this problem on mine. Using a flat screw driver starting form the window seal you can very gently pry the door panel up and then work your way down loosen the door panel enough to access the interior portion of the door and the lock. It takes patience not to break the door panel but it works.

How do I get the Water out that is sitting in backup lights in 2005 Chevy Impala?
i have the same car an problem, an what i did was take that whole assymbly off and drained it, To do this, open up the trunk and behind the light panel will be cut outs in the metal that allow access to about 12 nuts, take those off and pull the light panel away from the trunklid (it will have wires still attaching it for the lights) Grab the light bulb assymbly and twist and pull it off. Now with it off the car turn it flat and slosh it around(took a couple minutes to get it all out) Dont know what causes this , but i took silicone andcaulked every gap i found (upper left and right corners, and hole where the lock cylinder protrudes through the assymbly). Not sure if this fix works since i just did the other day. Goodluck, hope i helped

Replacing window regulator 2001 Chevrolet impala?
Anyway, the part# from napaonline.com is BK 6653601 for the drivers side (BK 6653602 for the passenger side).
Remove the door panel, time consuming but not too hard. Loosen the three 10mm bolts holding the motor in, remove the power connector.
Lower the window so that the two bolts holding it to the regulator are exposed, remove them. Push the window to the top, propping it at this position (a screwdriver through the access hole at the top left will prop on top of the exterior door handle keeping the window in place.
Remove the three 10mm bolts holding the regulator in place. 'Corkscrew' the regulator and motor out of the BIG hole at the back of the door.
Installation is the reverse of assembly.
EASY!
