There is no easy way to answer that question. Most classics are so old that their reliability depends on how much work is put into them. I've had a few classic cars, and the best way to make sure they are reliable is to check everything and replace what is obviously won out or rusted etc etc....

I can tell you this though, few engines are as tough as the old ford flatheads of the 1920's.

For the answer to this question, look in your owner's manual. Don't have one then get one. You need an owner's manual for the maintenance schedule and for questions just like this. Actually, the oil filters on the 2006 Malibus are located right underneath the hood in a small canister that twists on and off with a special tool. You just pull the old one out..snap in the new one and make sure it spins freely then twist it back in.

If you know you are getting power to the starter but the engine does not turn over when you turn the key, you probably have a bad starter. Your local auto parts store can check it for you once you remove it from the vehicle.

Before you remove the starter though make sure your battery is charged and the battery cables are in good condition and making good contact. If those things are Okay and the engine still won't turn over the starter would be the next logucal place to check. Good luck

This could be the breaks needing replaced, could be a wheel bearing that needs replaced.

no, there is not a fuse inside the fuel pump -

check to make sure you have 12 volts to fuel pump for first 3 seconds when key is on position- also check ground to fuel pump

if both of these are good and you have no or little fuel pump pressure check fuel filter or replace it-

if no or little fuel after replacing fuel filter then replace fuel pump

also don't forget to check fuel pressure regulator (although this is a rare problem among Chevy Malibu's)

could be a bad fuel pump,or just a fuse or relay burnt out!!fuses and relay are in under hood fuse box.

are you meaning EGR valve. if so it is in front of brake booster, there are 2 bolts and a steel hose running to it. take out the 2 bolts and remove hose. mounted on engine. it is round and has a set of wires running to top of it!! on top back drivers side.

a lot of 3.1 engines do this, if it is not severe then it should be ok...

Fix: Clean throttle plate with carb cleaner, make sure to scrub carbon buildup off, can crank adjustment screw very slightly to give throttle plate more clearance

Use throttle body cleaner and an old tooth brush to clean up the throttle plate and surrounding area.

Start with a sall flat pry bar and work it in all around the edges. The panel is held on with plastic screw in fasteners. They twist into the holes on the door panel and the other end has a plastic "nail" sort of thing with plastic "barbs" on it.(Hard to describe unless you see one). The plastic with barbs is in the door in holes provided for it. Gently run the pry bar around the edges until you locate one of the holders and gently but firmly pry the fastener off. Don't try to save them as they are usually very brittle and will require replacement. They are very commonly found at the auto parts store.

Keep prying them off and the door panel will start to come off. Remove the arm rest by removing the two screws holding it. the rest is held on with plastic clips and slips out easily.

Now it is time to take the window crank off. This is a little tricky. I have set of what look like miniature ice picks bent in all different directions. Press the door panel in right at the crank and you should see a wire clip around the crank just before the fluted part. It is shaped like a convoluted horse shoe. Put the pick

in the end of the clip and pull hard and it should come off.

Now lift up on the panel and continue prying the clips off until the panel lifts free.

To replace the procedure is reversed and should be easy with new trim panel clips.

The window handle is easy to put back on by putting the clip in the groove and pressing it over the end of the crank. the crank is shaped to allow you to put it on the end and with the fleshy part of the palm just bump it and it will go right on.

And there you have it.

Is it possible that your emergency brake is stuck part way on? This is the light, it may be crossed or broken.

on mine all you have to do is start car hold down the lock button on drivers door when you hear it beep 4 times the lock will only open and lock from the button may have to hold button down a couple of times to get all 4 beeps

To be more specific, the ground wire must work and the bulbs, fuses, etc.. Or the back up lights and turn signals and brake lights wouldn't work? Right? Could it be the back panel...and still let the brake/turn/backup lights work? I need help fast. Thanks!
