You need two people. lift the truck and find the slave cylinder. It should be on the drivers side of the bell housing. Pump the clutch up a few times and hold it to the floor. While holding to the floor have your partner crack the bleeder. Air or fluid should come out. Tighten the bleeder and pump the clutch up again, hold to the floor and crack the bleeder again. You may have to do this several times. If it does not bleed your problem may be else where.

the clutch slave cylinder on this car is located inside the transmission itself. The part has a rubber bushing that separates the the hydraulic lines and bleeder, from the section that is located in the transmission housing itself.

You have to drop the transmission. Be sure to unhook the battery cable first. Unhook all the line on the transmission. The is a quick release for the hydraulic clutch- to unhook it you have to push the white plastic in toward the transmission and it will pop out. Remove all the bolts on the transmission. You will have to undo the starter as well. You will need to buy a clutch kit. You should also have the flywheel resurfaced. The kit will contain an alignment tool that is shaped alot like the shaft of the transmission. The hydraulic system contains the slave cylinder which is located on the shaft of the transmission. I recommend changing it too. The Master cylinder is located above the clutch and under the hood you can see where the hose goes into the body of the truck to the clutch pedal. There are two bolts that hold it in. I haven't removed mine yet, but will tomorrow. Why are you replacing the master cylinder is it leaking or not holding pressure on our pedal? Then you will put it all together and need to bleed the slave cylinder and master cylinder. You need to follow the directions on the replacement parts. Hope this helps you.

No, the flywheel is bolted to the back of the crankshaft. It is a large metal disk with teeth around the outer edge for the starter to turn the motor. There is a smooth surface on the flywheel face. when the clutch is engaged it is catching the flywheel so to speak, by pressing the two surfaces together tightly. This makes them one and so the engine is now turning the gears in the transmission, which ever you have selected at the shifter. A flywheel is only in a manual transmission.

Take belt off water pump pulley

remove fan from pump (4 bolts)

remove old clutch from fan

install new with same bolts

Put fan back on.

the fan clutch is built into the water pump,it cant be separated,you have to replace the water pump.

I had a 1995 Subaru Impreza and it was a long, drawn out process. There was a setting under the hood that allowed us to adjust the clutch which we did several times, but it waited until January in a snow storm to go out, and suddenly we felt a large clunk and it stuck in nuetral. So we coasted into a Wal Mart parking lot, and I took a cab to Jackson Hewitt to get my tax return, and then made my way on foot (I fell on a slope in the snow) getting to a bank to cash the tax return which I used to buy a beater truck (Mazda) that is still getting me around pretty good. I owed a title loan on the Subaru and was recently disabled by a stroke, so the lender had to come get it from the tow company. We could not get the Subaru to hardly go uphill or shift into any gear prior to it cutting loose entirely.

A burnt smell, higer rpms for the same speed. It will slip like crazy when going to a higher gear which puts more load on the clutch, hills will slip engine will reve and it wont move or it will crawl up it.

You need to replace the rubber seals in the master cylinder. May even have to have the master cylinder re-sleaved.

The clutch cable oprerates a cam plate where 3 ball-bearings travel in tapered channels. First check the operation of the cam plate. On the other side of the bike (primary cover) is the clutch basket. Check spring adjustment before condemning the clutch plates.
