How do you set the timing mark on a 1999 Daewoo?

When you set to do this on your own, it is critical that you get it right from the beginning, or you risk destroying your engine. The most important thing is to ensure that all the marks on the gears align correctly with the corresponding marks on the timing belt. Wind the engine over by hand to ensure the marks on both sides align properly, before you replace the covers.

Where is the water temperature sensor on a 2001 Daewoo Lanos?

Both the engine temperature and thermistor for the engine management are located behind the alternator. They can both be readily accessed by removing the top adjustment bolt of the alternator, removing the serpentine belt and pivoting the alternator towards the rear of the firewall.

Crankshaft sensor location for 2000 daewoo nubira?

Really need more info (engine size, model, type, etc..) A 1.6L DOHC, should be located about 9'o-clock if looking at the Crankshaft pulley through the right side wheel well. Just FYI the camshaft sensor is located under the timing belt cover between the two camshafts (1.6L DOHC) but behind the exhaust cam gear (gear towards front of car).

How do you bleed the power steering on a Daewoo Lanos after a timing belt has been changed?

First top up the power steering fluid, then with the engine running, turn steering slowly all the way to the left, and then, still slowly, all the way to the right.

Check that power steering fluid level hasn't dropped, and top if necessary.

Repeat the process half a dozen times and you should be good to go.

Cheers.

2000 Lanos fuel gauge stays either on full or empty for weeks at a time regardless of how much fuel is in the tank. Low fuel light appears to still function.?

umm not a specialist, but the fuel sending unit, the part that goes in the tank, that measures the volume might be broken. haha. i think you can get to it, by taking out the rear seat, and that big black rubber thing, just replace it, and/or check the wires, and make sure they aren't cut, or worn.

3 starters installed on Daewoo Lanos all turn but motor doesn't crank?

starters turn but doesnt crank? If the starters are turning and engaging they will at leat be turning the flywheel, unless there is tooth damage. try to rock the vehicle in gear to test. look at bottom pulley (where the belts are) to see if crank is turning, both when starter is turned and when rocked in gear, this will at least tell you that the flywheel is attached to the crankshaft, and if it turns off the starter motor it also shows the starter motor is working correctly. If this is turning via the starter motor the next thing i would check it the timing/cam belt. behind the plastic cover behind all the belts, especially if the engine is turning fast, wirring and not making the usual chug chug chug starter noise!

How do you change and set the timing belt on a 2000 Daewoo Lanos?

You have to take the plastic guard on top of the spark plugs off, pull out the air box, take off the air conditioning belt if you have air, pull off the serpentine belt by loosening the alternator. Then you can get at the plastic belt covers. Remove the screws holding the plastic on. Then remove the pulley between the upper and lower covers. That should set the top cover free. Then pull off the crank pulley and the two screws in the lower timing belt cover to expose the lower one. The manual says to then loosen bolts on the water pump pulley, that thing obviously in the middle of the belt is not it. The small sprocket on the left hand side is the water pump. But you need a special tool to twist the pump to release tension on the belt. If you don't have the tool, you can release the tension on the belt tensioner, that bald plastic wheel on the left. -BE CAREFUL FROM HERE ON OUT- look at the tensioner. On the left are some shiny points. Take a medium screwdriver and lift the one that moves. If you let this snap back it will break and these tensioners cost $100 a pop. With the tension relieved, have a buddy start pulling off the belt. If you are just removing a belt that hasn't broken, try not to move any of the pullys while doing this. If the belt did break, which is what happened to me, this is an interference engine, so expect some bent valves. Im praying mine aren't that bad so I can trade the thing in. Anyway, if it did break, point the mark on the crankshaft pulley down, aligned with the notch in the tin behind all the pulleys. Then with the 1.6 twin cams point the marks on these babies at eachother. Then put the belt on, careful not to move any of the pulleys. If you have the tool, do a compression test. If you don't, unplug the spark distributor thing and have a helper turn the engine over. Listen for tapping and banging. If the sad answer is yes, the valves are making noise, you have some bent. Probably the exhaust valves (towards the front of the engine). The guy at the former Daewoo dealership says the car should run, it might skip but it would run. but I can't get mine to start. No compression. Good luck.

How do you replace a fuel pump on a 1999 Daewoo Lanos?

Lift up the passenger side of the rear seat and pop up the round cover. Use a fuel line disconnect tool to remove the two fuel hoses, (you will need two different sizes). Unplug the two electrical connectors and tap the ring around counter clockwise to loosen. After the ring has been removed wiggle the pump out by turning about 1/4 turn to the left and work it out.
