I need diagram on changing the timing chain

i had the same problem for a while with my Lanos. i found that it was a combinations of a.) fuel filter being dirty and b.) wrong size tires on the car (when i had taken it in for new tires the shop put tires on that were to big), even when i got the tires fixed i still had milage problems. low air pressure in your tires could also account for lost milage. so, if your tires are fine then check your filter, and vise versa. hope this helps. It could also be the Oxygen sensor (lambda ) these only last between 30,000 and 50,00 miles and can result in fuel consumption increasing as they get contaminated and start increasing the fuel mixture due to false readings

Try turning everything off inside the car, (radio, fans, etc) and turn the ignition to run and not start. For a second or two you should be able to hear a humming of the fuel pump running. You may need an assistant to try and listen closer to the gas tank, as you may not be able to hear it from the drivers seat. Also, if your car is OBD 2 (1996+)then there should be an engine code stating a problem. However, if the problem is sporadic it may not trip a code, and the only way to find out may be to remove and test it.

Access to they speakers is obtained by removing the rear deck lid sill plate cover.

-lower the folding rear seatback

-remove the center high mount stoplamp (if equipped with one)

-remove the child seat tether anchor (again-if so equipped)

-remove the plastic retaining clips on the deck lid sill plate cover and the speakers are right there.

did you change your gasket put a new gasket with a silacone tighten the bolts down evenly drive safe

daewoo lanos oxygen sensor is located at the front of the engine approx in the middle of the outlet manifold as enclosed pics confirm:

It is impossible to change the thermosate. The thermostate is built inside its housing. Therefore one would need to change the entire coolant thermostate housing. The major problem with this obsoutle vehicle is that this part can not be found. The last resort is to check out your local junkyard and you should tons of Lanos. Yank one from there. I have remove two housing so far and as soon as they are installed they crack. If any one come across where they can be puschased brandnew....please drop me a line. at nomi4hire@yahoo.com

it sounds like your timing is out and needs re-adjusting.

when the timing is out on this model it also affects the battery operation .

simply put the battery isn't getting charged properley.

don't replace the battery, just reset your timing and it should'NT stall any more!

i have a 2000 1.5 auto lanos no spark, good plugs new crank sensor new coil replacement ecu any ideas ?

drain coolant ,and you will find thermostat housing behind distributor cap ,you may find it easier to remove distributor cap for access, mark were leads connected ,undo bolts and remove thermostat,top back up with coolant no more than 50% anti freeze

I have A 99 daewoo Lanos with the same problem. I took apart my dash to find that the control cable has a broken shield over it. to easly check this your self just above the gas peddle and to the right there is your heater box on the side ov it is a control lever for diferant settings see if you can move it. not having looked at a lanos, But most cars the break light comes on when a switch is operated have a look at the break pedal there is mostly a switch on top of the pedal near the pivot part check to see if a wire a has come off or check function of the switch itself

you can buy those digrams at a store like a mechanics or you can order one on EBAY but there is nothing on the internet trust me there is nothing because i looked like 10 times

Remove wheel, remove dust cap, should be a castle nut with a cotter key, remove key and castle nut. if memory serves, the drum should come off now.

The lanos sport is the only one with a body kit and red/black interior, power windows. oh. and the 1.6Ltr DOHC enigine under the hood.

When you set to do this on your own, it is critical that you get it right from the beginning, or you risk destroying your engine. The most important thing is to ensure that all the marks on the gears align correctly with the corresponding marks on the timing belt. Wind the engine over by hand to ensure the marks on both sides align properly, before you replace the covers.

Replace the HT leads to the spark plugs.
