How can you remove a dashboard from a 1984 Jeep Wagoneer?
Hi there, Not sure if the 84 is the same as the 88 grand wagoneer, but if it is, you can indeed remove the entire dash assembly. I just took the whole dash panel and dash board out of my 88 donor vehicle tonight.
To revoe the whole dash, you will first need to remove all the switches, gauges and glove box. then disconnect all the wiring under the dash. That will take the best part of 2-3 hours depending on how limber you are and which way your wrists bend.
Next, remove the steering wheel anchor under the dash as well as the 2 support rods going up to under the windshield as they will get hung up on the dash when you try to remove it. then remove the achor bolts on each side of the dash fastening it to the body. Next you will need to detach the air conditioning core and casing from the bottom of the passanger side of the dash.
Lastlly, the really big step is that you will need to remove the windshield completely to get access to the really annoying bolts that anchor the very front of the dash to the body. There really doesn;t seem to be any other way to get access to them.
Once the windshield is removed (which takes about an hour to do carefully so you can save the gasket and the glass) you can have easy access to remove the dash and to disconnect the wires in behind it as well. There are also plastic anchors along the top of the dash fastening the wire loom to the dash and these will need to be popped open or cut to release the dash.
and voila, enjoy your newly removed dash, suitable for framing.

How do you remove a cracked dashboard top on a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up truck?
Actually, the dashboard top is integrated into the entire dash. You'll have to take the complete dash off to separate the "top" from the instrument cluster assembly... you'll be better off to just get an entire dash assembly from a junk yard and replace it. The dash doesn't come out easily, but it CAN be removed and requires disconnecting a fair number of electical, cable and vacuum lines, including the complete wiring harness and the steering wheel. Good luck!
www.lmctrucks.com has replacement tops for dodge dashboards, I think they go over the top of your existing dashboard. I don't know if they have one for your truck, but you can check them out.
How do you remove the dashboard from a S10 blazer?
I assume you mean just the dash panel. If it is an older one (80's fo example) you have several small torc bit screws to pull. The dash should pull out from there. If you are going further you have to pull all the covers on the heater controls and the glove box. Some on them have hex head screws on them. Once you have the complete face off there are several hex head bolts under the dash, not real easy to get to. You have to disconnect the vents at this point. If you have never done this I wouldn't recommend you do this without help. Some of the wires you have to reach are a tight squeeze. I restore show cars. Good Luck

Remove the glove box door by turning the two large plastic 'screws' in each side of it. This allows the door to open all the way down. Disconnect the 'shock absorber', using a flat blade screwdriver. Remove screws from the hinge to remove the door.
Remove the rear half of the center console by opening the lid, and removing the contents. Remove small rectangular panel from bottom, and two screws beneath it. Open the drink holder, pull straight up on the lid to lift it out. Access more screws beneath it. Pull the parking brake lever to 'on'. Turn key on, (don't start the engine), shift automatic transmission selector to neutral, remove Philips screw from side of shifter knob, being careful not to launch the spring for the safety button. Remove shift knob. Lift rear end of console up to remove.
Remove the ashtray from the lower front half of the console, and remove one screw behind it. Remove the ashtray from the center console, and remove one screw from behind it. Remove radio/CD player, or storage pocket. Remove screws pointing up into the heat/AC controls, these are accessed through the radio opening. (Instrument cluster is not removable unless these screws are removed first!) Remove screws from both sides of the front half of the console where they attach it to the dash (these were covered by the first two panels removed). Unplug cigarette lighter and clock wiring from console, lift the console up and back to remove it. Remove the screws from the black plastic shifter bezel.
Using finger from underneath, push dash light dimmer switch forward, unplug and remove. Remove rear defroster switch the same way, and remove screw behind it. Remove two screws from top edge of instrument cluster bezel. Carefully remove bezel. Remove four screws from the tabs in the instrument cluster. Tilt the cluster forward, use screwdriver or scratch awl to unplug wire connectors. Carefully maneuver cluster out.

How do you change the bulb in the instrument panel of a 1992 Jaguar?
Takeit to a qualified tech you cheap bastard.
Although this is a seemingly cute answer, it does not address the question. I have an XJ8 that has a dash bulb out. I was going to have a "tech" do it, but because I was a "cheap bastard", (who by the way can spell --Take it), I did not wish to pay his quote of $125.00 for a $2.00 bulb. If anyone has a CONSTRUCTIVE answer to this guy's question, I'd be interested.

How do you remove a dashboard from a 1984 caprice classic?
I had an 85 Caprice and the knob to adjust the clock was broken off. The only way I could set the clock was to remove it, take it apart and move the hands. In order to get the clock out, the dash had to be removed. It is easy. You need a 7mm nut driver for the job. Lay on your back on the seat and look up under the lip. You do not need to remove all the screws but if you just look at them for a minute you should easily be able to determine which need to be removed. Sorry I don't remember how many, maybe 8 total. There is also another screw on each side so you have to open each door to get at them. The hardest are the screws in the defroster vents. There are two screws in each vent and although they are not difficult to remove, they are very easy to drop down the vent. I had no trouble removing them and did not drop any. Upon reinstall, I shoved a rag down to catch them if I dropped one and it paid off because I dropped a couple before I got them back in. The next year I just left all the screws out and never had a problem. Gravity seemed to hold it down just fine and it was easier to adjust the clock. As I usually suggest, take the time to go to a junkyard and practice taking off parts. You might even find a nice dashpad. vbd

In order to take it off you first need to take off the fuse panel cover. Then remove the clips and screws that hold on the guage cover. After this the there are four screws on the bottom of the guage housing that must be removed from the bottom so you must take the panel that covers the bottom of the dash.(right above the fuse panel Approx 6-8 screws.) Once that is done you can disconect the wiring harness behind the guage housing and remove it. The rest of the panels are held on with a few screws and little clips.
