There is a brackets that goes across the transmission you must first remove that for more working room you can remove the exhaust then remove all of the bolts around the converter and remove the u joint as well you will need to pull the trany staright back then down make sure the car is on jack stands and its prob best to have someone with some expirence in it to help

You said "if you still have the original tires" that is not the same as the original rims. The rule of thumb for repossessions is anything that is attached to the vehicle, stays with the vehicle. Banks and recovery agencies don't have time to babysit rims and special after market items. Here's the trick: if you plan on skipping the car payments, take the after market items off before the repoman gets there. Just a thought. Here's another view.....with the fancy rims, the vehicle may get more at the auction so you may end up owing the bank less after it is all done.

I happen to won a 97 3500 w/cummins diesel! You look between the hydro booster and the rear of the engin! You will see a canister with a 1/2 nut on top! Loosin nut and hold bottom of canister.. remove canister and extract filter. Wix fuel filters come with detailed instruction sheet! After reinstalling filter you have to manually pump fuel filter full. Manual pump is located behind the fuel injector pump attached to block of engin. You have to look hard to find it the first time but once you find it you will know where it is from then. hope this helps you!

If you're talking about the 20" factory 5 spokes w/ the 5 lug/5.5" bolt pattern off of a Ram 1500, then the answer is YES - you can mount them successfully on a '98 1500. Be aware that there is a very small hub diamater difference between the two vehicles though. The newer Rams have a slightly smaller wheel hub diameter than the '98. However, they will fit. First, you need to make sure that the wheel is pressed onto the hub with as much force as possible to seat it as best you can. Then, be certain to tighten the lug nuts in a cross diagonal order as tight as you can. And, most importantly, don't forget to torque-down your lug nuts after driving 50 miles or so, because as the wheels fully seat on the hubs, they will naturally loosen some of the nuts (ie. I had 3 come off completely before I checked mine). But since I re-tightened them, I have had no problems since - I have put about 5,000 miles on my truck with the new rims. By the way, they look great on a '98. GOOD LUCK!!! The 8 lugs swap as well and the center caps are interchangable. 17" alloys with old center caps are sharp on a 2nd generation 2500. Make sure the larger tires don't rub the brake lines when you turn!

It is important to have a diagram when making any changes to a car. For this car a free vacuum diagram can be obtained through asking an auto part store technician for a print out of the schematic.

ANSWER: There is a tube underneath the engine right in front of the rear tire with a plug secured by a clamp. Remove that plug and let the oil drain into a containor. Replace the oil with fresh in the oil reservoir on the right side underneath the seat.

Secure the power steering pump with the retaining bolts. Attach the power steering hose to the power steering pump. Put the belt on to the power steering pump. Fill the power steering system with fluid.

The throttle position sensor is mounted to the throttle body on the end of the throttle shaft opposite of the lever.

Watch injector go down and as it does, look at balancer lines. when VS line lines up with the pointer cast into front lower drivers side set injector at bottom 60 in pounds and valves on same cylinder
