Do bigger tires effect the speedometer How do you calculate the difference I had 30 inch tires and now have 33 inch tires?

YesPutting larger diameter tires on any vehicle will affect the speedometer and odometer readings. If you know the revolutions per mile for the original tires and the larger tires, you could calculate the speed difference. If they are already on the vehicle, you can also drive down the highway, set the speed at 60 MPH and measure the time it takes to drive between mile markers. One mile at 60 MPH takes 60 seconds. If it is not 60 seconds between mile markers, the difference is the speedometer error. AnswerYour tires are 10% larger than the car thinks. Therefore, you travel 10% more than your car recognizes. This has two effects:

Your actual speed is 10% MORE than what your speedometer is reflecting. (When your speedometer reads 60, you are actually traveling 66)

10=11, 40=44, 100=110 etc.

Your actual mileage is 10% MORE than what your odometer is reflecting. (When your odometer reads 100 miles, you have actually traveled 110)

So when you see a cop doing a speed trap, remember to slow down accordingly.

When you sell your car, don't forget to disclose that you have larger tires and that the odometer should read more miles than it does.

i believe you had a choice there, but if it were a v-8 the likelihood of it being a 318 or a 360 is the guess, both relatively the same only the 360 is internally larger displacement, from the hood view they're the same and most parts interchange- starter,waterpump,alternators,so on.

How do you adjust the idle on the 1987 dodge ram?

If it has the standard 2bbl carb, there is a screw on the drivers side linkage. Just turn in to increase the rpm's, and back out to decrease. There is also a choke "kick-down" screw that can affect engine rpm when cold. This one will be screwed into a "stepped" cam on the linkage. You will need to adjust this for high idle speed when engine is cold. You may also have a high idle speed solenoid mounted on the front of the carb. This increases engine rpm when the ac unit is swithced on. This should be adjusted from the factory, but can be tuned by by a screw on the front of the solenoid.

Your heater in your 1998 f150 does not get hot in defrost and panel only slightly in heat mode What can you check for proper operation?

You can check to make sure the radiator fluid is up to the correct fill level. Also be sure that the coolant/water mix is within the suitable ratio parameters. There is an inexpensive tester at all reputable autopart stores for that. You can also check to see if your thermostat is functioning properly. If it is not then your heat may only get slightly warm and may not heat up at all. Sounds like a thermostat.

How to install an oil pressure sending unit?

Ok I'll bite. On our '92 Suburban (284k mi) it is located on top of the engine at the back of the intake manifold UNDER the distributor. Be prepared to remove the air cleaner and the distributor so number the wires. The original sender required a 1-3/16" wrench (how many folks have one of those) and of course the new one needed something different, slightly less than 1-1/6"(metric). Not terribly difficult other than finding it and I'll take it over to my auto shop guy to get the timing nailed down; I was able to get it close enough to get it started. This is the link I found a drawing that helped me located the unit on the engine: http://autorepair.about.com/library/illustrations/bl283a-lib.htm
