Where is pcv valve on 1997 dodge 1500 located?
it should be on eather the driver side or pasenger side valve cover
Is there an egr valve warranty?
If you mean the original warranty from the time the car was purchased, the warranty for all emissions componets on American cars is 5 years/50,000 mles or if there is an extended warranty it might cover it for a longer period.
How do you replace egr valve on 1994 F150 with 5.0 engine?
Replacing the egr valve is quite simple. the line at the bottom of the egr vave needs to be taken off first using an open end wrench.( be careful on this step if the line is broken it can sumtimes get costly) remove the two bolts on each side of the valve then simply swap it out. you might want to replace the gasket while you have it off. make sure when reasemmling it you start the line on the bottom before you but the other two bolts back in.
How does a stater work on a engine?
The starter, upon activation, has a gear that is forced onto the engine's flywheel's gear to turn the motor over. Upon engine start or release of the start voltage the starter gear disengages.
Cost of replacing a egr valve?
The cost of replacing an EGR valve varies with the make, model and location of the car. An EGR valve for a 1996 Lincoln Town Car is about $160.
What causes an egr valve to go bad?
To be honest, not giving your turbo diesel a good hard thrashing every now and again. I know it sounds silly but the high temps created will help free up the carbon deposits with the egr system and intake manifold, which cause the sticking egr valve.
I have worked on many ford tdci's vauxhall cdti's and done servicing on police cars. Never seen a police car with a blocked up egr and clogged intake manifold, but have seen the same car with less than 10K from new with it completely blocked - was a 50+ lady who admitted never going above 2500 rpm.
Only reason for the police car not having the problem (with 100K+ on the engine) is the engines are on full throttle for sustained periods of time and it burns off the the soot and carbon.
Where is the EGR valve on a 2002 Chrysler Concorde 3.5?
It is on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head.
Where is the egr valve on a 1993 Chevy K1500?
Assuming V8 gasoline engine, it should be bolted onto the intake manifold.
Trouble code P0404 means:Exhaust gas recirculation circuit range/performance
Where is the EGR Valve on a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan?
It's on the left side of the motor, just about the alternator. Mine has a eletrical connection on the front and a metal tube from the top the EGR vlave to the top of the engine. Hope this helps.
Where is the egr valve on 2003 grand prix 3.1Liter?
The EGR valve on a 2003 Grand Prix 3.1 Liter is located in the rear of the engine on the driver's side. The EGR valve will be connected to the exhaust pipe and is usually located near the end of it.
How does a burnt exhaust valve affect emissions?
You would get high CO's (unburnt fuel) @ idle and @ high speed, Depending on how bad and how many vales are leaking. It would fail most smog tests. You could do a compression test to see whitch cylinder is low. Hope this helps, Ben Parker, San Jose, Ca.
What does the pcv valve and egr valve do?
PCV, stands for positive crankcase ventilation. Since the piston rings cannot stop every bit of combustion gases from escaping past them into the crankcase(oil pan) area, there needs to be some way to safely vent that pressure, so that it wont build up and blow the seals out of the engine. The PCV valve does this, by applying a controlled amount of vacuum to give the combustion gases a way out and keep them from building up. EGR stands for exaust gas recirculation. The EGR valve opens at the appropriate time, usually on moderate acceleration to allow exaust gas to flow back into the combustion process through the intake manifold. It is a common myth that the reason is to "re-burn" exaust gas to use any remaining unburned fuel and improve gas mileage. Anybody who gives that explanation as to why they have an EGR valve, has no idea what he/she is talking about and probably should not be working on cars. Here is the real reason there is an EGR valve: Under certain conditions, esp when the engine is hot, fuel may actually burn too quickly, and thus not burn completely. In fact, spark knock or "ping" is caused by "pre-ignition detonation," the fuel actually ignites before the spark plug sparks. Pre-ignition detonation will cause an incomplete fuel burn, loss of power, bad gas mileage, and could even damage the engine internally. Under certain conditions you may want to slow the burn of the fuel, so that it is a more complete burn, and is at the right time. That is why you introduce exaust gases into the combustion process, to slow the fuel combustion just a little, so you can get a more complete burn, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce pre-ignition detonation. Here is a side point about pre-ignition detonation. Octane actually slows the burn process as well. That is how high octane fuels work, and why they reduce ping. The higher the octane, the slower and more completely the fuel burns. But with high octane fuels, you may want to consider where you are driving. If you are planning a trip to, or live in the mountains where the air is thinner, and there is less oxygen, you probably don't need a higher octane. The reason is that, with less oxygen, the combustion will be slowed in the engine already. Why slow it down any more? I hope this information helps.
Where is the PCV on a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville?
Ok, This part is pretty hidden. On the series II engine. It is under the plastic cover. Take this cover off. Now on the passenger side is a black box with wires coming out of it and a numerical code and a bar code on this box. Now there is a twist clip on there. Compress this clip and then twist. The PCV valve is under this clip. Be careful not to break this black box. IT IS ATTACHED!!!! If this box is broken, the check engine light will come on. So be careful! Good luck!!
How do you change the EGR Valve on a 2001 Toyota Camry 4c?
The egr is simple. Locate it at the top rear of the engine. There should be either 2 or 4 bolts.. and 2 vaccuum hoses to pull off. Make sure you have the metal gasket that goes with it.. Just remove all and replace it.. Put it back together the same way.. IF you light comes back on and still says no flow in or out of EGR.. then its not the egr valve. There is a EGR valve switch at the back of the motor that will burn up sometimes and cause the EGR not to work. If that's the case then the EGR Valve switch needs to be replaced. Ive had the same thing happen to my car and after I replaced the EGR and Vaccuum valve 2 times and wasted all that money, the whole time it was the EGR Switch in the back of the motor that had burnt up. As soon as I replaced that switch, I havent had a problem with it since.
the vent is located on the top of the transmission. it is very tough to get to unless you remove the transmission from the vehicle. however, if you remove the crossmember and the mount, you mayh be able to lower the transmission enough to replace the hose. it is no more than a small rubber hose. Typically though, one should never need to be cleaned. very rarely does one ever even leak unless there is a problem inside of the transmission.
What does the egr valve look like?
I have a 2001 2.0L and it is on the back side of the engine under the intake manifold. (drivers side) Looks like a large piece of aluminum and is held on to the engine with 2 bolts. This is fairly difficult to remove since the bolts cannot be seen.
Will bad egr valve cause vehicle to stall in hot weather?
Even a good EGR valve may cause an engine to stall in hot weather.
How do you diagnose a faulty egr valve on a fiesta diesel?
plug TechTwo into the ECU plug located on the inside of the car, usually under the ash tray, near the handbrake cover, near the bonnet catch, always coverd up with plastic covers.
