Where is the EGR valve on a 1995 Nissan Quest?
The EGR valve on the Villager/Quest is located at the top-rear drivers ride of the intake plenum. You will see 2 parts that look almost identical. They look almost like 2 little flying saucers. One is the BPT and the other is the EGR valve. A common problem on these vans, is the rubber tube that goes between the two parts. This hose usually cracks and splits or becomes plugged with carbon. This will trip the check engine light and an EGR code will be present. Replace the little rubber hose (its usually in stock at your Ford or Nissan dealer) and you should be good to go. Good Luck!
Where is the EGR valve on a 1997 Geo Tracker?
How do you check an electronic egr valve in a 97 cavalier?
There's not much you can check: it's a non-servicable part. If it's giving you troubles there's two options: A) there is a controller which I can't think of the name or acronym of at the moment and B) the solenoid itself. Your OBD code would dictate where you start, but in my decidedly un-professional opinion, I'd follow this path either way.
Find the EGR and clean it real well with carb cleaner (or other carbon sovent) avoiding solvent getting into the upper parts of the solenoid, re-install and see how it works. Alternatively, if you have the $150 just replace it.
Otherwise, you'd have to bring it to a shop to make sure the controller is working properly. This situation is rare, so I'd definitely try replacing the EGR before I'd go to the shop.
bad thermostat, engine coolant temperature sensor(ect). not enough coolant. radiator is pluged up try flushing,or replace radiator.
Assuming an S-Series. The EGR is going to be next to the air intake tube from the airbox on the engine itself. Pretty much right in the open. --------------- Adding on to the above: Its cylindrical shaped held on with 2 bolts. There are two types, vacum and electric. '94 and earlier used the vacum EGR execpt in California :)
EGR valve can be take off and cleaned, but what it sounds like is the fuel line to the injectors are leaking, put a pressure gage on the fuel line and see if it holds pressure when the key is on. it should reach 60 psi and hold for about 5 seconds without dropping. If the smell is fuel I would suspect the inlet fuel line is leaking. When you take the upper manifold off, which is easy. 10mm socket will do. If you see a clean area on your intake and the rest is dirty. its leaking. Just turn the key on, don't start and see where its coming from.
I just replaced my egr valve and my light went off, however some reasons for yours not to go off might be that the hose/pipe coming out to the eghaust manifold into the egr valve has enough deposits in it to cause a blockage.....signifying that your old egr valve was good, just not getting any unburned fuel to it. I don't know how to clean the blockage out so maybe search the net and see if you can find out how to do that. perhaps a carborator cleaner will work?

Where is the EGR valve located on a 1999 Mazda 626 ES v6?
I believe its located on the airbox. look for picture of it on auto parts websites. I believe it is on the upper-left side of the airbox, on the bottom of the bracket. Im not 100% on this though. Where is the EGR valve on a 1999 Mazda 626?
On the 1998-2002 Mazda 626 v6 the Egr valve is located on the back right side toward the bottom of the engine. It is located in a very hard area to get to between the engine and the firewall. If you take out the intake system and the throttle control you can see it more clearly. there are two coolant lines connected to it. There are some picture of it at dallinwood.com/mazda_626.htm

The catalytic converter is probably doing all the work. There may be no need to recirculate the exhaust gases. ed724
Where is egr valve on 98 ford escort SE and how to replace it?
if you look on your intake, right next to the firewall the egr valve is the circular diaphragm that on my 98 sport has a green wire with a black boot leading through the firewall and attached to it. replacement consists of removing the two bolts holding it and putting the new one in its place.

Where is the egr valve located on ford thunderbird sc 1990?
HI, you will find the EGR valve connected to the back of the throttle body i am currently removing SC off my 1989 ford Thunderbird
SC for cleaning the intake system . plus the EGR tube that goes to the exhaust was disconnected and well i have poor idle, vehicle running very rich on fuel, and when going fast vehicle bogs down like if it was missing fuel... suspecting the MAF is bad to, you will have to remove the supercharger, intake and exhaust inter cooler air tubes and throttle body there is two bolts to the EGR valve. GOOD luck.
What is the cost of an EGR valve for a 2001 Ford Escape?

Where is the EGR valve in a 1996 Monte Carlo?
The EGR valve in the 96 3.4 liter is right above the throttle in between the air intake and the intake manifold. It is a round silver thing with a black plastic peice ontop of it with a wire connected to it. It should have 2 bolts one ont the front and one on the back they should be 10mm bolts just take those out and spray it with some carb cleaner and file out the carbon build up on the inside of the 2 valves and that should clear up the valves.
Will a car get better gas mileage if the EGR valve is blocked off?
Not really. The EGR valve allows the computer to send far less fuel when the vehicle isn't running hard. If a vehicle doesn't have a functioning EGR valve, then the fuel mixture is cut, you'll burn valves and possibly pistons. Engines that run too lean WITHOUT a functioning EGR valve don't have much of a life expectancy. It's not a good idea, but then, there are plenty of people out there who don't have a clue what they're talking about who will tell you otherwise. If you have a question on the subject, talk to a dealership mechanic or somebody who works on them full time.
Yeah i am. I also have a 2005 comp g gtp grand prix, but its only when I turn my heater on I hear like a whisling noice from the glove box.

How do you fix an egr valve in a Ford Contour?
Clean it or replace it.
Answer by Tigercadd:
The 4 cylinder engine has no EGR valve and the V-6 rarely fails. If you're getting an EGR flow overspeed or underspeed code, you simply need to clean the EGR passages at the back of your throttle body. You can have a shop do it for $100 or simply get a TB gasket and do it yourself. Once you remove the TB and gasket you will understand what to do. Put a sheet of common aluminum foil under the TB to catch all the chunky crud. You don't need that dropping onto your transmission case.
