Is the pipe bellow egr valve need to have carbon cleaned from those passages?
Yes, clean the cabor buildup from the EGR valve and that pipe.
How do you clean the EGR valve on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan?
Just replace it, the sensor on the top of it is usually what goes bad.
Does the egr valve affect your gas mileage?
yes, the egr valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) device is there to help reduce emissions by resending unburnt fuel and harmful gasses back through the cycle.
This also helps the engine burn leaner and cooler.
Why would a 1994 Saturn SL1 with 84K miles exhaust white smoke after starting?
Black smoke= rich condition(too much fuel and not enough air). Blue smoke = burning oil(engine components excessivly worn). White smoke= possible blown head gasket. Check oil to see if coolant is mixing in. Also check coolant level to see if it is loosing it. Have cylinder compression test done to verify head gasket problem. Other possibilities are a cracked cylinder head or engine block.
How do you adjust the idle on your 1992 Nissan Stanza?
The idle speed is not adjustable on this car. It has fuel injection, so the computer is responsible for controling the idle speed.
You can adjust it on carburated engines, but not on injected ones. (At least that's the idea. There is a throtle position bolt somewhere around the air intake throttle, but it is highly unrecommended to touch it.) So, look for other causes of bad idling.
M. Scosyrev.
Not so fast ! you can change the air adjustment and it will speed up or slow down the rpm. I saw the Nissan Man do it with a screw driver.YES!!!
The shop manual has a specific procedure to adjust the idle speed.
Where is the EGR valve located on a 1990 Ford Tempo 2.3 liter atoumatic transmission?
Right on top of the valve cover.
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve recirculates exhaust into the intake stream. Exhaust gases have already combusted, so they do not burn again when they are recirculated. These gases displace some of the normal intake charge. This chemically slows and cools the combustion process by several hundred degrees, thus reducing NOx (oxides of nitrogen) formation.
The engine needs tuning to reduce the fuel flow to the injector. Check also the fuel filter.
Do all modern Vehicles Petrol and Diesel have MAF sensors?
No, most Chrysler vehicles do not use maf sensors.
What is an EGR vacuum solenoid on a 1991 4.3 s10 and what it does?
The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve opens when vacuum is applied. The EGR vacuum solenoid opens and closes the vacuum supply to the EGR valve when it is commanded to do so by the ECM (Engine Control Module).
Where is egr valve on 1999 Ford Ranger 4.0?
On your 1999 Ford Ranger , 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine :
I believe the EGR valve is just to the left of your engine oil dipstick
( when you look into the engine compartment from the drivers side )
The EGR valve is lower down and has a round shaped top
Can a diesel EGR cooler be repaired or does it have to be replaced?
Just buy a delete kit, your engine will be better for it
Do NOT install a EGR cooler delete kit on a Ford 6.0L diesel!!!. The engine was designed to have it because international payed very, very, intellegent engineers to figure out why it is needed and it's function in the over all scheme of things. Makes sense right?? Millions were probably spent on the design and testing of the cooler and these aftermarket company's don't even have a 64th of the money put into testing and design as international did so I'd stick with the people that know what they are doing and not some hole in the wall company that thinks they are making something better and actually they are screwing up alot of things by doing this. Some kits are better then others but the bottom line is I have seen burnt, crispy, melted egr valves due to the delete kits being installed!! Yes now that the exhaust gas isn't cooled by the coolant that super heated exhaust gas that is passing threw the egr valve is 10 times hotter and causes many problems in some cases. A much better solution is a kit we use that basically apears stock and the cooler has been gutted and stronger more robust tubes are installed in the housing of the cooler and they hold up like the 2003 coolers unlike the later weaker 2004-2007 coolers that are known garbage. The company has a great kit I have installed that comes with new egr cooler, oil cooler housing which moves the oil threw an auxillary oil filter then threw an air to air cooler and back to the engine. It not only adds approx 7-8qts of oil to the system for better longevity of the oil but it lowers ECT and EOT temps by 10+degrees. After installing the kits we road test and monitor these pids to confirm proper operation of the system and everyone I've done has operated correctly and the temps are anywhere from 10-13degrees lower on bothe Engine coolant temp and Engine Oil Temp!! Then companys name is Bullet Proof Diesel. I would recommend visiting their web-site and check out a better solution for the many 6.0L problems with the egr and oil coolers. Hope this helped. Good luck
1994 Plymouth voyager diagnostic trouble codes 35 and 51 causes and fix?
Diagnostic Code 51 for a 1994 Plymouth Voyager is the vehicle running too rich or too lean on fuel. Diagnostic Code 35 has to do with the cooling fan for the engine. It is not coming on at the proper times due to a short or a bad fuse.
any auto parts store should be able to answer your question
I believe it's something like 23 or 24mm.
How do you test the EGR valve on a Daewoo Lanos?
You cannot manually test the EGR valve like you can with most ie. applying vaccum and depressing the diaphram. The EGR valve is controlled by the ECM you must have an OBD-2 compliant scan tool to montinor EGR functions.
I'd first check repalce the EGR Pressure Feedback sensor (back of engine underneath with two hose outlets), then the EGR vacuum solenoid (left side of EGR valve).
Where is the Location of EGR valve in a 1998 Geo Metro?
Looking at the front of the engine, it is on the right hand side of the engine, just below the o2 sensor. It will have two tubes going into it.
How do you remove engine emission controls from a 1983 Chevy 305?
This question can not be answered in this forum as it is an illegal act. The Federal Government mandates that the emission system on an automobile is Not to be altered or removed from a vehicle and is punishable with a fine or imprisonment.
Where is the EGR valve in a 1982 Chrysler LeBaron?
near the power steering fluid holder.. its a round discy lookin thing with a couple of pipes attached to it..
Where is egr valve on a Vauxhall vivaro?
it in the inlet manifold on top of the engine....pain to get out i believe and bloody expensive to replace, GGODLUCK :)
What does the acronym EGR represent and what does the EGR do?
Exhaust gas recirculation. The egr meters a small amount of exhaust gas back into the engine. This gas lowers the combustion temperature which lower the a mount of oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust.
Where is the EGR valve located on a 2001 Ford Taurus SES 3.0 L 6-cylinder?
Directly behind the intake manifold.
Where is the PCV valve on a 94 Ford Ranger 4 liter 5spd?
Under the hood on the left-hand (drivers side) valve cover. It's mounted in a rubber grommet towards the rear. The crankcase vent hose is plugged into it.
