I had this problem, spent a fortune on new regulators and even a motor before I realized that the problem was in the switch. For some reason, the switch (only the driver's side front window) would make the window go down when pressed up or down, and when you try to make it go up, nothing but a "clicking" sound.
Apparently, the problem is some kind of alignment in the switch. I am not a mecahnic, but I found that if I carefully hammered the switch down along the edge from top to bottom, it would eventually "catch" and then would work properly again. Eventually, the condition would re-occur, and I would do it again. Sometimes it worked for a few days, sometimes for a few months. So there is definitely a problem in the switch. Don't pay for new regulators, motors, or other parts for this problem. Apparenlty, the techs do not know about this condition. If you do go for repair, carefully explain the problem and what I told you above, otherwise they think the problem is with the hardware inside the door. Or try my method, which solves the problem, but not if you are anal about the cosmetics inside the car.
In short, the answer is "No."
The longer version is that while they will bolt up, the transmissions for the V6 are made with different ratios than the transmissions for the 4-cylinders. The computers for the engines are programmed for the "right" transmissions, and I seriously doubt the driveability would be acceptable.

My cam shafts each have both marks. Its complex if you take the gears off the cam shaft without paying attention. If that happens then you have a lot off homework to do---studying the positions of the cams and firing order, ect. could be a mess---good thinking, learning lesson for a novice---good luck. Finally the distributor timing needs to be set. I discovered that the rotor that spins around inside the cap can go on 3 different ways---pay attention before replacing and don't be afraid to mark positions and directions of these three main vital componites that make the engine run: Crank, cams, and distributor. this is not uncommon when you have aluminum and steel together and then placed under heat, use a rubber mallet to knock the wheel as you turn it by hand it take some patience but as you work the wheel as if you are taking it off it will come off, when you put it back on use anti seize to prevent this problem in the future.

The VCT as it's called, is driven by the oil pressure and advances and retards your timing automatically to adjust the timing. When it's stuck in the advance timing position, either it's not working electronically, not functioning due to low or dirty oil pressure. It was even suggested that a oil change may do the trick after running some engine flush thru your old oil before changing it. The VCT I ordered was around $80. From pictures, it is held in by 1 bolt. If it's stuck in the retard position code 1383, it may be a bad timing belt.
