the oil you use depends on the time of year and conditions. oils such as 5w30 and 10w30 are called multi viscosity oils, fancy talk that means the ability to get into the engine varies at different temperatures. 5w will flow quicker than 10 will in cold weather. there are also oils with only one viscosity rating, such as 30wd which is primarily used during the summer. as u can tell your choice is either 5w30 or 10w30. the critical numbers are the 5 and 10. 5 means the oil will flow into the engine quicker when the temperatures are cold. 10 works better during the milder times of year. 10 indicates the relative thickness of the oil when cold and 30 indicates the relative thickness when running, so for most of the year a 10 would work fine and 30 would not get too thin when the engine is warm. 5w30 is used in the winter time. 10 w 30 or regular 30w will probably work spring summer and fall usually a manual will advise on this, or some auto stores will point u in the right direction good luck it also depends what type of driving you do, and where you live. if you live somewhere hot and make longer trips, 20-50 might be a good idea. I live in the desert and use synthetic 20-50 from Quaker State or Castrol. this car calls for 5W-30 although 10W-30 is good the 5W-30 is a thinner oil and better for colder weather Look in your owner's manual it should tell you. The ford motor corp. recommends 5w30 on most of the 4 cylinder cars.

I bought a 2001 Focus 2.0 SOHC vin P for my daughter with a trashed cylinder head and block. The blocks are slightly different but will work. One of the water pump bolt holes is different and the side of the engine towards the firewall don't have the mounting for the Focus carrier bearing on the Escort block. A bracket support must be fabricated for the carrier bearing of the right drive axle. The Escort crankcase vent must covered since the Focus block is also blank. Focus water pump to Escort block will work you just need to drill one extra hole top left of the block. I found out the cylinder heads doesn't interchange but are both SPIs, head manifold bolt patterns are different. Also the engine mount is connected to the head and also will not work vice versa. The engine to tranny matches perfectly. I used a 98 Escort block to 2001 Focus and the car runs great with these modifications. I just have to keep an eye on the cooling system. As I've read on the internet, overheating is why the valve seats falls off and why I end up with this project.

What you are doing is both illegal and ill-advised. The engines do NOT interchange, since they don't have the same mounting points. It is illegal to install an older engine in a newer car per EPA regulations, as well as an engine that was never installed in a regulated vehicle. In many states this is an automatic emissions fail. Fabricating bearing and engine mounts is not something that should be tackled by an amateur mechanic.

Cylinder ID circuit error. Refers to the cam sensor on the rear of the head, PCM, ICM and related wiring. My research indicates if one must guess, replace the cam sensor, its cheap and a common fault. Also check wiring and connectors to the previously mentioned components.

For example, the hand brake is not fully disengaged, or the sensor isn't registering that it is disengaged, it could also mean that you have one of your primary brake lights out or in some models, it could indicate that there is a malfunction or deficency in the brake system in which case you should have it checked.

Fuel tanks usually don't have a drain, so either run the car out of gas, remove a fuel line and direct it to a bucket with the ignition switch on, or remove the gas tank and take the sending unit out and pour the gas out of that. First remove the steering wheel and the 2 column covers.

Locate the 3 multi-function switch connectors behind the instrument panel and disconnect them.

Remove the screw that fastens the switch to the steering column.

Carefully pry up the tab that holds the switch harness retainer to the bracket on either side. Pull the retainers off the brackets.

Take the multifunction switch off the steering column.

Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.

Remove the switch screws and take the switch off.

Installation is the reverse of removal steps.

IN FRONT OF THE CAR LOOKING AT THE MOTOR. CHECK BELOW THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO THE RIGHT WHERE THE ENGINE AND TRANS BOLT TOGETHER. IT'S KIND OF HIDDEN. ALSO MAKE SURE THE MOTOR IS COOL WHEN CHANGING, IT IS PRETTY CLOSE TO THE MANIFOLD.

1) Locate the speedometer cable attachment to the transaxle (just behind the intake manifold on the drivers side USA models) 2) Disconnect the electrical connector form the speed sensor 3) Remove the screw and retaining clip from the speedometer cable (completely move them out of the way so they do not fall into the transmission) 4) Remove the speedometer cable 5) Fluid should be between the top and bottom of the speedometer cable gear 6) Fill as needed 7) Check o ring on the speedometer gear housing replace it if it is damaged 8) Re-install the speedometer cable assembly, retainer, bolt, and electrical connector Remember the Escort uses automatic transmission fluid in the manual transmission for the 1991 - 2000 models' If you want to change the fluid Drain the fluid (drain plug on the bottom of the transmission) Re-install the drain plug. Remove the speedometer as stated above Add 2.9 quarts of Mercon ATF to the transmission Re-install Speedometer cable

its a shift light for a manual trans. means opimum rpm for shifting to higher gear

I found the instructions in a Chiltons #26242 book on Ford Escort/Tracer. I found it easier to remove the alternator as there is a idler pulley hidden beneath it that is a real bugger to get the belt around. Once I solved this problem everything else was easy. The tension pulley that Ford installed really helped as you don't have to adjust the belt.

i think the biggest engine you could fit in a 1993 ford escort gt 1.8 is a 1998 ford escort zx2 2.0 turbo engine with intake manifold and coilovers to get hp that you can actually manage in the car. but then you would have to completely redo the wiring harness from a zx2 to a 93 escort and get the transmission from the zx2 to fit also in the 93 escort, with the right motor mounts youll be set.

to adjust idle on 2000 impala....Locate the accelerator cable on the throttle body.Have someone push down on the accelerator pedel while you observe the throtle body cable movements.You will notice a stop screw on the throtle body butterfly where it comes to rest against the throtle body.Turn the screw clockwise for more rpm, turn the screw counter clockwise for less rpm. I am not sure if any of the air filter componets need to be removed or not... Should't have to do this.Observe...you can do it...

could be that the door is open or one of the sensors says the door is open

When you open the hood, look in the upper right section of the engine compartment and you will see the "Main fuse box". When you locate that look about 5 inches directly above that, basically on top of the right side of the firewall near where the strut tower gets bolted too and you'll find it. I believe it's fuse 32, but not sure. They put it in with a random assortment of things, hope that helped!

coolant temperature sensor is the right of the coolant outlet line on the top of the engine when looking at while standing in front of the truck. it has a black two prong clip attached to the sensor. the oil temp switch is to the left of the coolant outlet line. it has a single black wire coming off of it.

when a vehicle is backing, they are required to use 'more care' than the person going forward...for obvious reasons....in most cases such as this, it would be considered 50/50, meaning you are both equally at fault for this loss (there are variables though, where is the damage? was one person farther into the lane, and thus having control/possession of the lane?), let's assume it is determined 50/50...now it will depend on the liablity statue of your state...MO is pure comparative...meaning each of you would owe 50% of the other's damage......some states (KS for example) if you are 50% or more at fault (in this example you would be as would the other driver) you are bared from recovery, therefore you would each not collect, if you were though (in the KS example) 49% and other driver was 51% neglient then you would recover 51% from him, and he nothing from you...clear as mud? i know it's very confusing........find our the statute of your state...of course you need to report this (promptly) to your insurer...
