Why won't your brake lights come on?
START BY CHECKING FOR A BURNT FUSE. THEN YOUR LIGHT SWITCH. SOME OLDER CARS HAVE A FUSE ON THE BACK OF THE LIGHT SWITCH ITSELF. THESE ARE NOT THE EASIEST THINGS TO WORK ON. DASHES ARE TRICKY SO IF YOU NOT VERY EXPERIENCED HAVE IT CHECKED BY SOME ONE ELSE. ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE BATERY BEFORE YOU WORK WITH THE DASH. YOU MAY JUST HAVE TWO BURNED OUT HEAD LIGHTS. ITS POSSABLE! GOOD LUCK
How do you get the green 4wd light stop flashing on your 98 Isuzu rodeo?
first check the 4wd transfer unit, it is located on the front axle on the drivers side. There should be two vacuum hoses one for 4wd the other for 2wd. There should be a vacuum on one but not the other, press the 4wd switch to see that they both work. If they are both working then you have to work on the transfer unit, here a hand operated vacuum pump ( some refer to it as a brake bleeder ) it might create enough of a vacuum to free the stuck transfer unit. I had to remove the unit and free the unit by hand ( hint I did have to use a screw driver to help pry mine loose ) once free operate it by hand several times to make sure it is loose, then replace it. After this I also found an air leak in the vacuum lines, I bypassed the vacuum line from the solidnoid to the transfer unit to find this problem.

Is there enough energy stored in a battery to boil a kettle of water?
It depends on the battery and the size of the kettle. It also depends on the starting temperature of the water and the air pressure, if you are at higher altitude or lower air pressure it takes less energy to boil the water, and also if the water starts at a higher temperature it takes less energy to boil.
Definitely some batteries have enough energy. You'd have to calculate the amount of energy required to boil the water and look at the amp hour measurement on the battery, that tells you the total energy stored in the battery.
However, this problem occured with my van at all times and it turned out to be a vacuum leak. I had a broken line that went to the vacuum motor controlling the blend door for the ventillation system.
There are some vacuum lines that come through the firewall, from inside, and go to vacuum ports on the intake manifold. Follow these lines back to the motor and inspect for breaks or holes. If you are unable to find one, make sure the engine is warm, running, and AC blowing out the defrosters, and spray something flammable like penetrating oil (I've always used CRC brand but any will work) on the lines, connectors, and even where the intake manifold is bolted to the cylinder heads. When you find the vacuum leak, engine idle speed will increase. If that is not successful, you may want to check the vacuum lines under the dashboard. Your problem is definitely vacuum related and is probably near the motor because it seems to happen after the engine warms up.
Hope this helps!Mark

The 2005 Hyundai Tucson takes a special rear wiper you have to purchase at the dealer. When purchasing the part, ask for the replacement procedure. Unfortunately, this vehicle doesn't have one of the 13 universal rear wipers most vehicles have. You can however purchase aftermarket wiper blades for the front wipers. The symptom would indicate a wheel/tire/balance problem. You need to have a professional inspect if you are driving at those speeds. also make sure if you drive at 120+ mph, you have "Z" rated tires for safety.
What does it mean if the 'Brake' light is on and the brakes feel different on a 1999 Ford Explorer?
IF THE BRAKE LIGHT(NOT A.B.S. LIGHT)IS ON,IT USUALLY INDICATES: LOW FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER,(DUE TO LEAKS,OR WORN BRAKE PADS/SHOES) THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS APPLIED, OR A MASTER CYLINDER BYPASSING INTERNALLY. I'D SUGGEST GOING TO A SHOP THAT OFFERS A FREE BRAKE INSPECTION.LEAKS OR WORN FRICTION MATERIAL(SHOES/PADS) WILL BE FAIRLY OBVIOUS. BUT BE SURE TO GET MORE THEN ONE PRICE QUOTE IF THEY DO FIND A PROBLEM.DIFFERANT SHOPS,CHARGE DIFFERANT PRICES,FOR THE EXACT SAME REPAIR.
How a bill becomes a law in France?
Laws in France are created in three steps, very similar to the system used by the United States. In fact, the only major differences are that the Senate is not elected directly (it is elected by local ministers in the provinces), a bill may be proposed by a member of the counsel of ministers, and if the president "veto"s a bill, he can be overridden by a simple re-vote in the legislature (not a 2/3 majority revote).
The steps are:
1. A bill is proposed (proposition de loi) by either a member of the Senate or the National Assembly (similar to the Senate or House in the US), or by one of the Council of Ministers in the Executive Branch (most like the President's Cabinet in the US).
2. The bill is debated in whichever house (Senate or National Assembly) proposed or adopted the bill. If passed in that house, the bill goes to the other house for debate. Usually, the bill's exact wording is then debated by a committee comprising both houses, and the exact language is passed by both houses for a second time. When the bill passes, it goes to the President for signature.
3a. If the President signs the bill, and then it gets signed by the Prime Minister and the relevant counsel of ministers (all of these ministers serve the President, so this part is largely procedural), and it is published as law in the Journal Officiel.
3b. If the President does not want to sign the bill, he may ask for Constitutional Review from the Judiciary, or he can return the bill to the National Assembly and Senate (similar to a veto in the US). If the bill is passed a second time (even by a simple majority) by the legislature, the President must sign it and it is published as law.
Is energy stored in a battery a example of electrical energy?
No. By itself, it is not. There are 2 chemicals in the battery that combine to make electricity. When you connect the 2 ends of the battery, that is chemical energy. By itself, the battery is an example of Chemical Energy.

How do you remove the stock stereo in an 1995 Mercury Cougar V8 cylinder?
u need a stereo pulling tool. you can get it at any auto parts store just ask and they will tell what kind to buy. there should be two holes on either side of the stereo u just insert the tool, and pull the stereo out. You don't need a stereo puller if you have a thick wire hanger. Cut the straight parts of the hanger with snips into 2 lengths, each about 6 inches long. Bend each into a "U" shape so that both ends will fit into the holes on the stereo. Insert both "U's" into the four holes on either side of the stereo and simultaneously pull each to the side so that the wire will compress the spring locks that hold the stereo in place. Once you have a good grip with each U against the stereo, slowly start pulling it out while keeping the pressure on. You may have to wiggle it a bit to get it started. Save the ten bucks a stereo puller will cost.
Attach a brake bleeder tube to the bleeder valve, loosen but dont remove caliper mounting bolts. with the old inboard disc pad still installed and the outer disc pad removed use a large "C" clamp to apply pressure while bleeding the brake fluid. This allows the cylinder to retract into the caliper without allowing air to enter the system. Also a reminder, As you know the caliper assembly is a little heavy and you'll want to support its weight so it is not "hanging" by its expensive hydralic brake line (hose). a metal coat hanger tied to the coil spring and run through the caliper mounting hole works well.
Why do your taillights work but only one brake light works on a 1964 Chevy pickup?
If neither of these items check out as the problem, using a 12v tester have someone step on the brakes and check for current in the wiring connecter. If there is no voltage there it could be a wiring problem or the turn signal switch could be bad. This year Chevrolet had the current go from the brake switch, to the turnsignal switch then to the rear of the car in a right and left wires.
