Where is the fuse for the power windows in a 98 Subaru Impreza outback?

I think its fuse 18, the second from the left on the bottom row. This is among the inside fuses underneath the change container on left of steering wheel (just yank it out, fuses underneath)

However, if this fuse blows it takes the whole dash with it, my turn signals (just signals, hazards work), speedo, tacho, and power windows are constantly shorting out due to this fuse. Apparently also the reverse lights are also hooked to this. Real safe to drive this way, i can tell ya! Can't signal and can't lower windows to hand signal!

If just the power windows don't work this could be a sign that they specifically are disconnected, or perhaps their controls got unplugged.

Has anyone put a 40 Ford pickup on a explorer frame?

I am currently putting a 40 Ford pickup on a98 Explorer frame, so far i have the body mounted and the fenders and hood lined up , biggest problem is mounting fenders to the frame but with a little imagination this can be accomplished , had to move motor back an fab new cab mounts, it looks like I will have to rotate the rack back to achieve the right steering input angle and mount master cyl. on the frame or on the fire wall, this is optional. I am using a 302 with c4, plenty of room underneath, not sure of rear end yet but the stock Explore rear looks like it might work, plus rear disk .Had to back off on torsion bar torque to get the front lower. The Explore has a little wider track but you can use a wheel with more inset to compensate this ,with a little imagination and coming up with your own ideas , you can have a decent driver pretty cheep. Use what you got and have fun doing it. Any body can tear don an original and put it back together but what kind of skill would that take. Build what you like and have fun doing it and just drive it

What are plenum doors and where are they located in the heating system for a 1995 Ford Explorer?

The plenum door is inside your heat/AC system near the heater core. It opens and shuts incrementaly to allow the heater core to heat the air passing by, or closes to keep passing air from heating at all. If you open the glove box on a 95 explorer, you can see the plenum motor... and you should be able to see/hear it moving as you adjust the temperature control dial from cold to hot.

How much should it cost to replace the motor and transmission mounts for a 1999 Infinity GS20?

$800-$1000 parts and labor

I have a 2000 G20 and was needing motor mount and transmission mount

Luckily I found a complete set on line for $300.00 from O.C. Nissan in California.

I live in Texas. I went to a mechanic who works on my type of cars and he quoted me $ 300.00 to change the whole set.

So I spent around $ 600.00 and change.

If you go to the dealer you will spend lots of money for sure.

Shop around online and you can find good deals on many parts and have a mechanic put them on for you. You can save money like that. I did!

Good luck.

How does a quick connect tool work to connect a hydraulic line to a transmission?

This took me a while to figure out, There are 2 different styles at least. The ford style is similar to AC lines etc and there is a tool for this. FIRST clean the line b the fitting. Then you insert the tool which is a 1.5 inch or so round knob with a small notched piece sticking out of the end. You insert this and turn it a quarter turn or so and the line should wiggle on out. Clean and reinsert when ready to reassemble.

GM has a dorman style fitting which has a metal clip which can be CAREFULLY removed with a very small screwdriver to get the line out as above. On my 02 Rendezvous there is a small plastic doughnut sleeve thing that covers the end of the fitting that I BELIEVE is supposed to keep dirt out. I have searched the web for the past 2 hours and have found no information on this so I'm just giving this my best shot. I looked up a picture of the replacement fitting and this white "doughnut sleeve" is not pictured so my best guess is that it is not an actual part of the fitting. Is sneaky GM trying to keep folks from trying to work on these fittings? Hmmmmmmm;)

What is the unction of a mountebank?

"Unction" is an oil or ointment; a "mountebank" is a charlatan or quack who sold patent medicines, so the unction of a mountebank is some concoction sold by this quack.

In the context of Hamlet (which I am guessing inspired this question), this is specifically an extremely deadly poison.
