That depends on the noise. Could be pads/shoes, rotor/drum, hub bearings, etc. Have the front end properly checked out. Guessing costs lots of bucks.

How do you change a ignition switch in a 1995 ford thunderbird without having the old keys?
This may sound ridiculous... but force the the ignition switch until the detent "breaks" and you can turn the ignition switch without the key. The risk here is that you could possibly break the assembly that the ignition switch inserts into. If you can get the switch to rotate from the lock position one position clockwise, then you can release the switch from underneath the steering column and pull the switch out.
The alternative is to have a locksmith get the ignition switch to rotate one position clockwise and then you can remove the switch and replace it with a new one from any auto parts store.

How do you change serpentine belt on a 1996 Thunder bird?
If you look at the engine bay where your alternator is, you will see a bracket with a small bolt that's about 4-6" long, and threaded, it's usually a 13mm or so. This is your belt tensioner bolt, loosen this bolt until the belt slacks up enough to remove it, put your new belt on, then tighten the same bolt till the belt is good and snug. Serpentine belts need a little more snugness than the standard "old time" belts. Remember which way the belt comes off, how it winds it's way over and under all those pulleys. Hope this helps
If your t-bird is like mine, it will have a star bold which you will need specialty tools for.
How do you replace the fuel pump on a 1988 ford thunderbird?
Ahh, got to drop the tank. The pump will be either on top of or inside the tank. If inside, there will be an access door on top of the tank. Buy a Haynes manual or get one from the library, pretty good writeup about it. http://www.marksatterfield.com

Answercheck speed censor AnswerIf your speedo and or cruise control still function, its not the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) It is likely the drive/worm gear on the odo. unfortunatly, it'll probly cost $50 (Fifty) dollars for the gear to replace it :) Try here, I'm in the process of repairing two of my clusters now. 95/92 SC's May as well get some nice white faces while your in there. http://www.odometergears.com/subpages/ford.HTML http://www.instrumentclusters.com/odometer_gears.HTMLwhatever you do, DO NOT reset the trip while you are driving. that's probably what wore out the gears.
How do you remove the radio on a 93' Thunderbird LX?
I KNOW ON A 94 YOU HAVE TO GO TO LIKE AUTO ZONE OR SOME CAR PART STORE AND THEY HAVE A PACKAGE THAT THEY SELL IT IS LIKE 4 LITTLE SKINNEY PINS WHICH YOU HAVE TO INSERT ALL AT THE SAME TIME AND IT PUSHES ON SOME CLAMPS AND THEN THE RADIO SHOULD SLIDE RIGHT OUT. you have to buy a Ford radio removal key from your local auto parts store. These are two metal U-shaped keys that are approx the width of a hanger. You insert these two keys and apply pressure outward and the radio will slide out. Then you unplug the wires from the rear of the radio. You purchase your new radio. You buy a wire harness kit(you have to know if your car has standard or an upgraded sound system) You wire the new radio into the harness kit(it is all color coded) and you plug it right in. It's very easy...anyone can do it. Trust me!!!

Where is the turn signal flasher unit on a 1990 Thunderbird?
Don't go to schucks or other auto parts places. They will give you the wrong part. You will either need to go online to order the right part or go to your ford dealership and ask for part #SF-585 E8OY-13350-A Signal flasher module by Motorcraft. Is is a square black box, not the regular round one most of us are used to. You will find it on the right side of the steering column, under the dash. You will need to remove the bottom plastic cover of your dashboard and the metal plate under it to facilitate the swap. You will need to first unhook it from the metal prong that holds it under the dash to lower it so you can unhook the plug, and then unhook the wiring harness/plug from the bad module. It is a pain to do and you will need to pry up on the two little plastic tabs that ironically say "push" with a small screwdriver while pulling the plug. It will take quite a bit of force, but if a wimp like me can get it... I am glad to be able to post this because this was the only question addressing my problem of intermittant turn signal problems, and there was no answer...till now.
Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1987 500sl?
In my 1987 560sl The fuel pump relay was directly behind the idle control module. You will need to remove the glovebox and you will see three modules. The one I replaced was the "KVS Kickdown" part number 002 545 16 05 about $20 on eBay for oem used. All the parts places called out a different PN . They may have went to a different number, the new one has more pins I did not try to fit one.

Does it hurt your car to run out of gas?
It doesn't hurt anything although sometimes it is kind of hard to get it started again after you have put some fuel in the tank.
Good Tip: You should always put in at least 2 gallons, minimum, to be sure enough gets to the engine to let it start.
Be warned though that too much grinding of the starter without the engine starting may quickly run down the car's battery, so you may then need to get a pair of jump leads to be able to start the engine from another car's battery!
Failure of the starter motor itself - from excessive grinding - is fairly unusual, unless it is a very old starter motor...
Running out of gas on cars with electric fuel pumps can cause damage to the fuel pump since it is cooled and lubricated by the fuel passing through it.

How do you get the headlight assembly out on a 1995 Thunderbird?
Actually you can do it yourself... but you have to have a special kind of pliers (called "snapring pliers")to remove the metal retainers(2 on each side of the headlight assembly) that attach the assembly to the grille opening panel. They're cheap and you can get them at your local auto store.
