The Torque Specs for a 1992 Geo Prizm are 101 ft-lbs @ 4800rpm. In addition it has a capabilty of 102hp at 5800rpms.

umm if it was me i would just replace the motor that gasket is way to expensive to have replaced it costs like (10.00) so i would just replace the motor!!!!!

Interesting question. If you believe the Gates website, this particular motor is NOT an interference motor. See Gates. com. If you believe about.com, the 1.6 DOHC motor IS an interference motor. Bottom Line: Replace the belt at the advertised interval. If it is an interference motor, you will save large dollars. If it is not, you have spent the replacement dollars earlier than later. If the belt has already broken, take off the valve cover. If any of the valves are not at the same level, or not firm in their guide when the cam lobe rotates off of them, then that valve is bent, broken or otherwise damaged. Your twelve year old Geo may be honorably retired.

Take of the front tire, driver side. The fuel filter is right there.

If you are asking about the fuel door there is a lever to the left of the drivers seat on the floor. If you mean the cap itself just push in and turn left. :)

the fu pump is located inside the gas tank itself. will be the giggest pump you see on top of the tank.

Assuming a 1.6L engine, timing is generally controlled by the timing belt. Can adjust the timing by loosening the front lower bolt on the distributor and then rotating the distributor clockwise or counter clockwise. Use a timing light to set timing correctly. I believe it is 10 BTDC

on my sons 95 prism i had to loosen the nut on the brake light switch and turn it in a couple turns then retighten the nut, works fine

The turn signal flasher relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher relay switch will be to the left of the brake pedal.

The same way as you'd change it on any other car. Raise the car, put it on ramps or jackstands, remove the oil drain plug from the oil pan making sure you have a catch pan for the oil. Let it drain until all of the dirty oil is drained into the catch pan. Reinstall the drain plug, put your catch pan under the oil filter, remove the filter and let it drain. Clean the mounting surface where the old filter came off, put some clean oil on the gasket of the new filter, spin it on until snug, turn it an additional 3/4 turn, put in the new oil and off you go. Check your owners manual or the parts store to find out how much oil you'll need. If it's the 1.6, three quarts. If it's 1.8, three and one half quarts.
