Why would a 15 amp fuse blow when you try to start a 1994 Geo Tracker?
I just had this issue with my 1993 Tracker and it was intermittent and it ended up being a short. It was the ground wire that was attached to the thermostat housing right up front. That ground wire was shorting to the plug that is right near it. Good Luck Bob Y.
You cannot get the shifter out of park in your tracker?
You may want to look at your fuse panel. Possibly the brake,
How do you change the front brake pads on a Geo Tracker?
Remove wheel RE-install 2 lug nuts to hold rotor in place Remove caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor Use a "c" Clamp to fully retract piston into caliper body Replace inner and outer pads RE-Install Caliper PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SET PADS AGAINST ROTOR PRIOR TO MOVING VEHICLE
Picture of timing belt assemble 1991 geo storm 1.6 l sohc?
Any commercial repair manual will show you the diagram for both single and dual overhead cam models.
HI, I've looked at this thing all which ways and the only thing I can come up with is an occurance at the same time. The back up light switch either went bad or moved.is a logical solution or a wire came off or has been broken. If one of those things has happened then your backup lights will fail. To check the switch you only need to remove the shift console and rear console to get to the switch. I don't see any way that the loss of backup lights wil cause the "Check Engine Light" to come on unless by losing a ground it will cause the circut to see a fault but I can't find a connection. I hope if someone ses a way or knows more, I surte hope they'll chime in. Good luck. Steve H.

97, tracker (sport?)
the switch is on the tranny side casing called PRN switch. and is NOT in the console.
and is not related to the ECU CEL lamp at all.
unless you blow a fuse. which you didnt.
the back up lamps simply wire to the PRN tranny switch (AT only ,you didnt say tranny type , and there are 3)
and this switch has power from the ignition,
the switch closes and 12vdc is feed to the back up lamps. they then glow.
the wire can be open or grounded out, and many trailer wirings schemes go wrong.
the wire can be cut at the tranny or inside the left rear tail light housing.
this cavity has the trailer conn. look for hack jobs here.
if tranny switch closes and you get power to the wire then the switch is good and it is very expensive.
use a test light or cheap voltmeter. to find the problem.
94 Geo Tracker horn doesn't work?
pop the hood and in front of the radiator there is a circular device. that is your horn. check the connection of the wire to the receiver on the horn. when that is secure, use a flathead screwdriver to pry the cover off of the steering wheel and check that connection. if those are both secured and horn still doesnt work, check the fuse for your dash.
Why won't the ignition key turn in a Mercedes 320 E 1999?
this ossue may be caused by a bad key,or bad eis (electronic ignition system) hese are both issues for the dealer. your general shop will not be able to fix this due to the fact they dont have the proper computer to comunicate with the car and code the key and eis.
Answer 2:
I was a Mercedes mechanic. If the key is coded to the vehicle (it always worked before) and the EIS can "see" it, you would hear a click as soon as you insert the key. Then you can turn it. If the battery is good and the bottom of the key is clean, it should work. If not, have it towed in to your local dealer.
Hi,
Do you have a spare key if yes then try that if you have the same problem then its 100% EIS is damaged and it need replacing. If the second key works fine then its the first key is damaged. If its the EIS it can be repaired cheaper then a dealer and we can do it. We need a little bit more info and history of the car.
Thanks

Thank you very much. I would like to ask a similar question about my 1999 S500 Mercedes....I went to my car yesterday and stuck the key into the ignition and got absolutely nothing at all.. Completely unable to turn the key.. The key does indeed look bad and is actually falling apart.. It hasn't functioned fully (meaning the automatic features) for going on a couple of years now; but as I could still drive the car I didn't let that bother me too much.. However because I was driving with the key (which is almost in two pieces) for quite sometime now; I wanted to check to see if the problem might not be something else.. Is there any other reason that might cause the key to not turn at all?
1990 Geo Tracker 4x4 and it misses when you accelerate why?
could be a clogged injector, a bad coil or a bad hall-effect switch in the distributor
How do you reset the check engine light on 1991 Geo Tracker?
removing the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes and then putting it back on worked to reset mine ==New Answer== My 1991 Geo Tracker Lsi does not have the switch, located on the steering column bracket, which service manuals describe. Instead, it has a micro-switch which is attached to the back side of the speedometer. This switch is operated by a cam which is driven by the odometer mechanism. The switch is suppossed to turn the "Check Engine Light" on at 50K,80K,and 100K miles. This is to have you take the car back to the dealer for service of some kind - the owners manual does not state what service is required. I just disconnected the micro-switch so the light can be illuminated by the ECM whene the is an actual problem, not an interval. Theres a reset switch hidden by the drivers side speaker, you have to reset it every 2000 or 3000 miles, just flip it to the other side and next time flip it the other way.
Does 31x10.5x15 fit on a 93 Geo Tracker with no lift?
the tires could fit, but will rub when you turn. I have a 92 Tracker, but they are the same style i believe.
Check to see if the inertia switch is popped up.Or a bad fusible link in the original hot wire to the pump question? where are the inertia switch and the fusible link located?
1997 geo which is the hot wire for radio?
Hi, The answer I hhave in my '97 service book is the with wire is the hot all the time. Steve H.
Where is the 1992 Geo Tracker ignition coil located?

1996 geo tracker idles good feed it gas bogs down no power?
check the timing belt. or on the 1996-1998 the crankshaft bolt comes loose and shears woodruff key in crank shaft.
Whats the biggest size tire that will fit on your stock 1994 geo tracker?
31" x 10.5"... would recommend at least a small lift to the truck if you plan on bouncing around at all... they should be fine on road unless you happen to smoke a big pothole. Regards Josh Marshall
How do you change a clutch in a 1992 Geo Metro?
There is quite a bit of stuff involved in changing a clutch. If you are not mechanically inclined I would not recommend changing a clutch if you have never messed with a lot of detailed stuff. There will be parts that must come off of the engine the entire air cleaner assembly will need to come off. You will have to get the actual transaxle separated from the motor just to access the clutch this will also require taking the halfshafts out of the transaxle. Once you remove the entire transaxle you will see the pressure plate. On the inside of the pressure plate is the clutch plate. All attached to the flywheel. I have done one Geo Metro clutch and several others. I am very experienced and it still takes me about 6 1/2 by myself to do one. I would not recommend doing this if you arent mechanically inclined.
Thanks
Justin

How do you test a ecm on a Geo Tracker?
What year, what engine, auto or manual?
The simplest way that I have ever tested them is in the truck.
1990-1995 the capacitors were junk and caused a no start. They are very easy to change though. If the injector circuit is blow that to easy to fix.
On-_mitch
check your battery. if your battery is Ok have your alternator and starter checked at a local Autozone or similar store
How do you disconect check engine light 95 Geo Tracker?
On most carss to reset the dummy lights you need to unhook the battery and wait aboout 10 min then rehook it and this should reset the system.
reset check engine lightYou need a cose reader that can reset it, auto parts stores sell them and some will hook one up to check codes and reset for free in hopes you will buy the part. AnswerHi, Try looking for a switch that should be located under the left side of the instrument panel. You may need to remove the small plastic panel under the steering column to make this a bit easirr.Sometimes a switch can be hard to see so a good light and a willingness to bend backwards to see under the instrument panel.I alsop put a blanket over the door edge and seat tracks so I don't get them in my back. Steve H.Where is the lever and how do you tilt the steering wheel on a 1994 Geo Tracker?
a lever is located on the left side of the column close to the dash
Where is the ECM located on a 1991 Geo Tracker?
Hi, On your car it most likely is under the left side of the dash. All that I've been able to find are two locations, under the dash on the left(usually newer) and the left (usually older). You'll be able to locate it easily as it will be the flat box object with some large many-wired cables going int it. Good luck. Steve H.
theres is to many things that could becausing it, so its hard to tell. the best thing to do is jack both front teires off the ground and try to wiggle the tires back and forth, there should be no play (or movement).
