How do you check the EGR system on a 91 CRX?
Go to Hondahookup.com (You'll have to register) Download the manual for a 92-95 Honda Civic because the manual for 91 CRX doesn't show the EGR valve. After download go to the section that says "fuel and emissions"--The Egr section is on pages 11-135 thru 11-139. One difference between the Civic and CRX is that the 2P connector is 2 wires on the civic and 4 on the CRX. The extra 2 wires on that plugin go the fuel injection system componet which is also unfer the control box. The 2 wires(on the 4 wire plugin) that go to the EGR control solenoid vale are ORN/BLU and BLK/YEL-----Hope this helps
What is a cold start injector on a 1986 Honda CRX?
The cold start injector does what the name implies. When you first turn the key to start (on a cold engine) the CSI gives the engine a richer mixture by injecting fuel into the intake manifold while the starter is engaged so it starts faster/easier. How long the cold start injector runs depends on the temperature. (Usually only a few seconds). There isn't a cold-start injector on your car. The cold-start injector, aka the "fifth injector," is a relic of the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system. This was designed in the 1960s and is essentially mechanical. On the K-Jetronic, when the Cylinder Head Temperature sensor detected the engine was below a certain operating temp, it would inject fuel into the throttle body. Think of it as a fancy choke. Cold-start injectors have one huge problem in today's emissions-paranoid climate: all that extra fuel generates extra pollution. That will not do. Honda uses a cold-advance solenoid valve in 1986 cars. There is a cable connecting it to the FI computer, and a vacuum hose connecting it to the distributor. (For all you guys who ever wondered why there are TWO hoses going into the vacuum advance on a Honda distributor when most cars only have one...well, this is why.) When the engine is below operating temperature, the cold-advance solenoid draws vacuum on the distributor, which advances the timing and makes the engine run faster without all the smog a cold-start injector would cause.
How can you tell if a Honda CRX is the hf model?
The CRX HF normally had an "HF" emblem on the rear right panel, directly to the right of the hatch. The HF also had an 8 valve, 1.5 liter engine with Multi-Point fuel injection.

Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 1986 Honda CRX?

How do you replace clutch on 1991 Honda CRX?
changing the clutch is the same as other honda, you take off the nuts on both axle, remaove the shock the camber, reamove the axle, remove the bolt from the tranmission and then remove the tranmission from the egnine, the clutch is attech to the engine. remove the clutch and put in the new one and then put every thing that you take off back that it is should take about 4 hours...
Before dropping the transmission you should have disconnected the battery for you will also need to remove the starter, the speedometer as well as the axles. It is a good idea to disconnect the shiftlinkage at this time too. With the car on stands and all above done you can disconnect the trans mount and lower it on a jack before unbolting it from the engine you have the choice to disconnect the front and rear motor mounts and support the motor with a jack. this will angle the motor and make for removing the trans a little bit easier.
Engine idle goes up when brake depredded?
The Honda CRX, as in many vehicles has the power brake booster relying on engine vacuum. A vacuum system problem, or with the booster can cause series changes in idle and drivability. Brakes are a critical safety component so this situation must be checked by qualified mechanic promptly.
Complete spark plug wire diagram for a 1991 Honda civic hatch from the distributor to the engine?
When standing on the passanger side looking at the distributor the top right plug is cylinder one (the cylinder closest to the distributor). The top left plug on the distributor is cylinder two. The bottom left plug is cylinder three. Finally the bottom left plug is cylinder four (the cylinder furthest from the distributor, closest to the timing gear). Hope this helps.

Where is the starter relay on a 1990 CRX Si?
I think it is underneath the fuse panel Beside the coin tray?? (im having a problem starting mine and that's where I can hear the relay when I turn the key)
AnswerThat's the fuel injection relay, of which there are two on the board--one powers the fuel pump, the other the fuel injectors. As far as I know, Honda doesn't use starter relays. They do use starter solenoids, as do all car makers, but that is on the side of the starter.
What's the car doing?
ANSWER
Actually, the starter relay is located on the left driver side footwell wall, just above the hood release. It's easiest to remove the hood release first (two bolts hold it in place; one on top and one on bottom), then a single bolt holds the starter relay in position. Don't forget to remove the wiring harness first.
The fluid in most automatic transmissions are checked while the transmission is in park, while the engine is hot and at idle. Best thing to do is check it after you have driven somewhere. When you get home, don't turn the car off, pop the hood, pull the dipstick and check the fluid reading. If you need to add fluid, do it slowly...maybe half a pint at a time. You do not want to over fill it. Usually fluid is added right down the same tube where the dipstick goes. Good luck.
How do you put spring in Honda recoil starter?
Ultimate Washer is the place to come for Honda small engine parts. ... If the recoil starter cord on your Honda engine breaks, don't take it to a local shop for repair. ... Starter Spring, SN-150-715 Recoil Flange Bolt, SN-140-401 Starter Handle ..
first, with engine cold and off. second, take radiator cap off and disconnect top radiator hose from the radiator side and guide the top hose disconnected end toward ground. third, turn engine on and the heater. four, rev the engine to about 1500-2000 rpm. as the engine temperature gauge neeedle move up about minimum 1/4"(warm temperature) you should be able to see warm to hot water shoot out of the disconnected end of the hose 15 to 30 seconds at a time. that is the tell sign of thermostat opening(water shooting out) closing(water stop). if water does not shoot out with temperature gauge reading past half mark, check to see water moving inside the radiator filler hole. if no movement, water pump is defective. hope it helps. could also be the head gasket. I've had 7 CRX's and 3 of them had h/g failures. check for water/oil mixing, or coolant loss from a constantly overfull overflow bottle. ANSWER themstat cost 15bucks, replace it, its a good idea anyway, and its very easy to replace usually water pump go back, it make noise around that area, and also leak fluid around there. if u over heat at dead stop but cool of while it drive. then u have fan not coming on problem. if it just won't stop over heat no matter what speed u at, usually are themostat. if u rev up u see temp go down or high, water pump,
unfortunately not, they are entirely different chassis, and their dimensions are very different. (creative minds might suggest a sawz-all and a few gallons of bondo? haha) the 88-91 crx have longer wheel base, but atleast its longer, so you could modify it to fit, disc grinder, screws, rivets and body filler, and you can make anything work, good luck.
Will crx si seats fit a civic?
