How do you change your BrakeFront and side lights?
Well, from what i understand of your question i think you are askign how to change front brake lights and corner lights. These are headlights and corner lights, brake lights are located at the rear of the car. Pop the hoos, you should see the wiring that hooks up to the lights. Unscrew the plastic"shield" that protects the bulb and change the bulb place it back in and screw the light back into place. (i recommend checkign to make sure the light bulb works before putting it back in the whole light) Good Luck.
Why won't your 1996 outback start?
An engine requires 3 things to start and run. Air, Fuel, and Spark (assuming it is not diesel). The first thing to do is determine what is missing. Normally Air is not the problem unless the air cleaner is so plugged up it can't get air. (extremely rare) A dirty filter normally allows the engine to start then run rich. Look for black smoke out of your tail pipe. First check for spark, you can do this by removing a wire from one of the plugs and attaching it to a spare plug laying against ground. The old "let's see if it will arc to ground" method can screw up some of the new electronic systems. If you have no spark, pull the distributor cap and turn over the engine. If the rotor is not moving, you have a broken timing belt. Since there are two timing belts on a Subaru, you have just checked one of them. If the rotor is moving and no spark, it is time to get knowledgeable help. Next is fuel. Easy to check, get a can of starting fluid from your auto parts store. Remove the air cleaner and spray a shot into the the carb, or if fuel injected, the throttle body. Crank over and if it runs momentarily it is a fuel problem and time to check the fuel pump, hoses, and crash sensor that can sometimes get tripped. It's job is to cut off the fuel in case of an accident and can get tripped by packages or a wayward knee. If every thing else appears to be present air, fuel, and spark it is time to check the other timing belt. Again a knowledgeable friend can help you with this. If you have not changed the timing belts in the last 50,000 miles, you need to. Many Subaru engines are "interference" type engines. That means that when the belt breaks, the valves can come in contact with the pistons creating severe cash drain problems. I know you asked what time it is and got the history of clocks, but the question has no one size fits all answer. Fred W4JLE@W4JLE.COM
What kind of paint should you use to paint a car at your house?
Any of the quality brands will work...I have painted many cars outside/at home, etc and the key is prep and keeping the area as dust free as possible. But also, some kind of "controlled" venting to allow the air to clear during and after painting. The other big question is single stage or two stage painting...single stage is a mix of color and clear vs. a two stage in which the color is applied first, and then the clear is applied. I prefer two stage just because if I make an error with the color, you allow it to dry (which is quick), and you can then do a light sanding, etc. before moving on to the clear. Srnoncom
What kind of paint do you use to paint a lamp shade?
"guessing cloth paint or craft paint the good stuff NOT WATERCOLOR!"
It really depends on what kind of lamp shade you are talking about. Cloth paint will work for true cloth lamp shades. For vinyl and plastic, you need a craft paint for the type of surface you are painting (IE smooth or textured) For a glass they make paint specifically for work with glass that is designed to stick to slick surfaces. You can get both translucent (for staining glass) and opaque. Some of these may work on slick plastic.
You should be able to go into any craft store and ask the clerk, most of them do all sorts of crafts as well and know what they are talking about. Be prepared to describe the material and texture of whatever you are painting, or bring the shade in with you for the best results.

Does changing the water pump on a 1990 Crx affect the timing since the pump is behind the belt?
It is best to change both at the same time. Not sure the answer to your ? but again if you change one go ahead and do the other too.
if while idling the vehicles tahomiter jumps 1 or 2 hundred rpm you have a issue with the fast idle control valve also known as the idle air control valve you can get one at rockauto.com more than likely for about 50 -60 bucks
your alternative would be to clean it out carefully and then reinstall with new gaskets
Why 91 Plymouth laser won't start?
need more information........... will it crank over? if not does it make a clicking sound? do the lights on the dash light up when the key is on? is it a turbo or non turbo? if it is a turbo watch the factory boost gauge when the key is on does it lay at zero? if not it is leaking caps in the computer or if the boost gauge flickers, there is a lot of great information for your 1st gen dsm at Vfaq.com including mods and all of the bugs these cars have i own 2 talons and a laser vfaq.com helped me a lot plus its free if it is still up and running , also if yours is the 2.0 turbo or none turbo, check to make sure you didn't break a timing belt very costly if you did, but easy to check for, just open the oil fill cap and with safety glasses on have someone crank the car over while you watch for the cams and rockers for movement, if they are not moving you have big costly problems the most common no start problem with the dsm's are poor grounds, faulty ecu caps, maf sensor, fuel pump wiring, clutch safety switch if applies, crank sensor, camshaft sensor at top of valve cover " looks like a distributor with out wires", oil filled spark plug holes due to faulty valve cover gasket, oil soaked plug wires, faulty coil pack very common to find them cracked open and shorted and a pain to get to requires removal of the fuel rail in the 2.0 engines, i believe that with your year you can do the key cycle on off on off on off on and get blink codes from the check engine light that will be very helpful. if not search vfaq.com on how to retrieve the codes with a analog volt meter, hope this helps some but we really need more information about you car is it a 1.8 , 2.0, non turbo, 2.0 turbo,? and more details about what the car is doing eg cranks over wont start? wont crank over etc?
Where is the fuel pump on a 1988 Honda CRX?
The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. You have drop the tank to replace it.
What kind of paint do you use to paint a car?
Either a "one stage" enamel paint, which can run from $100-$200 a gallon or you can use a "3 stage polyurethane" which can run from $100-$2000 a gallon. 1 stage enamel paints require you to prime and then paint the car with 3 or 4 coats, with a good wet standing afterwards, personally, I use 1500 grit, and then you buff it. 3 stage paint is a little more difficult if you don't know what you are doing. Body work and primer are a must, then you spray your base coats, wet sand it with 1000 grit, spray your paint coats, wet sand with 1000 grit, then spray your clear coats, and wet sand with 1500+. 3-6 coats of each stage recommended.
What axles do you use on crx B16 engine swap with quaife differential?

Where's the speed sensor for 1988 crx?
It is a gear that plugs into the transmission. There is a cable coming from the firewall that goes to the transmission.
How do you change the alternator in a 1991 Honda CRX?
Take a long extension. Usually two connected together and get the screw you can't find out from the back of the alt. This is only accomplished by taking the passenger tire off and reaching in there with the extension. Then skirt the alt. from the driver side of the car to the passenger side from behind the engine. It helps if you have two people. CIV --- In the 1991 CRX HF the best way is to unbolt the master cylinder. do NOT remove the brake lines! also, unplug the fuel line that is there and move it out of the way. unplug/move the wire harness that is there as well. pull the master cylinder a couple of inches out and a couple inches upward being careful not to move it too much as the brake lines are still attached! the alternator will come through the space that you've now created in front of the master cylinder. i tried the "passenger side of engine" method and don't see how that could work at all. other people say remove the axle. others say through the bottom or through the wheel well. on my 1991 CRX-HF the best way is the master cylinder method.

Answer In my case just by installing a new head gasket was enought bucause if air is seeping it will reflect with that diagnose
There is an air leak somewhere between the throttle plate and the intake valves. What's happening is this: your car is designed to run on a perfect "stoichiometric" ratio of air to fuel. IIRC it's 14.5 parts air to one part fuel. If more air gets in than is supposed to, your O2 sensor will see the mixture getting lean and start adding fuel to compensate--which, of course, makes the car run faster. Eventually, your fuel injection computer will look at the RPM the engine's running at, look at the throttle position, decide there's no damn way an engine with a closed throttle should be turning 2800rpm, and cut off the fuel to slow the engine back down...and the cycle begins again. Idle hunting actually tells us two things: air's getting in where it's not supposed to, and your induction system is working fine other than that because if it wasn't, you'd just lean out the engine until it self-destructed. Now understand, there are a lot of good suggestions in this thread...but when you do one of them, you'll also go around with your screwdriver and tighten all the screws in the system, which is what fixes the problem. (Besides, you need a new O2 sensor anyway. Replacing it saves gas, and you've seen the price of it lately.)
Be aware that these leaks can be tricky--I've seen leaky fuel injector seals do it. But start with the U-shaped pipe that runs from the air cleaner box to the throttle body--especially the clamp at the bottom that's impossible to get to.

Answeri have owned a crx for two years and the one thing i did to fix a jumpy idle was change out my O2 sensor (located before the cat). when you add exaust (headers included) to a car the O2 sensor reads different than it is supposed to, it also gets dirty much faster.
AnswerThis can be related to an item called the EACV, a tubular unit mounted on the back of the inlet plenum, by the throttle body. There are two water hoses and a multiplug going into it. It is held onto the plenum by two bolts.
Undo the multiplug and the two bolts and you should be able to pull the EACV sufficiently far away from the plenum to be able to clean it out with some carb cleaner. Make sure you don't lose the figure of eight O-ring that seals the unit to the plenum. Bolt it back on and plug it back in.
Hopefully that should solve the problem.

AnswerThe MAP Sensor. Mass Air Flow Sensor sounds like your not getting enough air causing it to idle up and down. I had the same problem on my Accord.
AnswerThe most common solution to an unstable idle (particularly cold) on a crx is the throttle cable is adjusted to tightly. I know it sounds bogus but it used to happen all the time on the crx's due to the cable's insulation getting old & hard.
Answeri have an 86 si with same problem. I adjusted the idle to specs and adjusted timing and prob went away. The correct timing at idle is a must.
The person referring to the EACV is most likely correct. It's actually a wax throttle control. Over time the may become to sticky and get stuck open. Had it been an O2 sensor, you would experience other driving issues: slow take-off, surges @ cruise speeds and so forth.
Answer
is a unit call Idle air control valve, i race my crx with a jdm 1.6 dohc vtec, and most Honda have that unit located behind the intake manifold. the radiator fluid run thu it. if u follow a very small like 3/8 size hose is back there.
clamp down both hose so u won't lose any coolant.
take both hose off, unplug wire harness
then take the unit off, u see a rubber gasket take that off.
use carb cleaner spray both port. let it sit for a min then dump out the cleaner, then
use air spray inside then spray it with carb cleaner again, until u see a white color plastic and everything look clean.
use little bit of gasket sealant around the gasket, place the sensor back on. let the sealnt dry up. i would wait about an hour. plug everything back in.
then it should fix the problem, but if it doesn't then replace the unit, its almost a 200 unit. so its not cheap.
and other thing too, make sure u have no air bubble and also not low on coolant.
now its fix! and there's nothing do with your o2. u can also able to lift the floor up by passenger side front, and u see a metal plate bolt to the floor, the ecu its right there
and see any code coming on, it should be a flasher red led light thu a sight glass.
code 14 its iacv. flash 1 long, 4 short.
AnswerAnother strong possibility is that your coolant is low. Low coolant screws with the temperature sensor, which in turn screws with the ECU. The ECU, seeing an alternating hot/cold condition, responds accordingly by flipping the engine back and forth between hot and cold loop. As cold-loop requires more fuel (because it's assuming that the engine is cold, and therefore needs to run rich until it warms up), the car revs as the mixture richens and then leans out.

2000 Nissan Altima won't start?
This is a pretty vague question. Are you mechanically inclined? Have you had any tests run on the car. Basic test would be check the voltage on the battery, car running and engine off. Will the engine crank? Check your air filter to make sure it is not stopped up. Check to see if you have any spark going to the spark plugs.Check for fuel delivery. Is the check engine light on.What happened prior to the engine not starting?Do you have antitheft system? I would need more information to be of any further help. I hope that is a start. There are two websites that might be useful to you. One is www.nissanhelp.com and the other one is www. pdftown.com. both of these websites have a lot of good information on technical service bulletins, recalls, specifications, technicql manuals, maintenance information. You will have to register on them to be able to login. Hope this helps!
