What causes extremely high pitched noise on '99 Honda Passport when idling or light acceleration?
My son's 1997 Passport has the same problem. A friend told him this is usually caused by the air condition compressor belt. If it is one of the other belts causing the noise you should be able to search for help on how to adjust those.
There is a fuse you can remove but if you do not have a service manual to ID the fuse I would not recommend this. The easy way is to go to your nearest autozone and tell them your check engine light is on, the employee will hook up the hand computer to read the code. After he reads the code tell him that you want he to clear the code from your on board computer.
Inside the owner's manual it tells how to reset this check engine warning light. I have found that in my car this light comes on about every 7,000 miles, or whenever the oil should be changed. Here is how its done. While the car is off, depress both the Reset and the Select buttons up on the console near the hazard button. Keep them both depressed while you turn the engine on. Keep holding, because within 10 or fifteen seconds the check engine light will flash. This is the signal that the switch is reset and you can let go of the buttons. That's all there is to it.
In the 2001 ACURA user manual it states that it takes three drive trips to reset the check engine light and if it comes on repeatedly it should be checked. as for the SRS light it could be reset by shorting the system but not recommended I did it a few times and it could damage the engine timing control, car will run a high RPM lights will not work on your info pannel ect.
How do you remove the caliper off the rotor on 1997 expedition?
Replacing Disc Brake Pads *** Caution *** Older brake pads or shoes may contain asbestos, which has been determined to be cancer causing agent. Never clean the brake surfaces with compressed air! Avoid inhaling any dust from any brake surface! When cleaning brake surfaces, use a commercially available brake cleaner fluid. Print 1. To avoid overflowing of the master cylinder when the caliper pistons are pressed into the caliper cylinder bores, siphon or dip some brake fluid out of the large reservoir. 2. Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands. 3. Remove the wheels. 4. Place a suitable C-clamp on the caliper and, with the clamp bearing on the outer pad, tighten the clamp to bottom the caliper pistons in the cylinder bores. Remove the C-clamp. 5. Loosen and remove the caliper retaining bolts. 6. Lift the caliper off the rotor. è Do not allow the caliper to hand by the brake hose. 7. Remove the brake pads and anti-rattle spring. To install: 8. Thoroughly clean the areas of the caliper and spindle assembly which contacts each other during the sliding action of the caliper. 9. Place a new anti-rattle clip on the lower end of the inboard shoe. Make sure that the tabs on the clip are positioned correctly and the loop-type spring is away from the rotor. 10. Place the lower end of the inner brake pad in the spindle assembly pad abutment, against the anti-rattle clip, and slide the upper end of the pad into position. Be sure that the clip is still in position. 11. Check and make sure that the caliper piston is fully bottomed in the cylinder bore. Use a large C-clamp to bottom the piston, if necessary. 12. Position the outer brake pad on the caliper, and press the pad tabs into place with your fingers. If the pad cannot be pressed into place by hand, use a C-clamp. Be careful not to damage the lining with the clamp. Bend the tabs to prevent rattling. 13. Position the caliper on the spindle assembly. Lightly lubricate the caliper sliding pins with suitable grease. 14. Position the caliper pins into the caliper anchor plate. 15. Tighten the caliper pins to 16-30 ft.lbs. [22-40Nm] on 1997-98 F-250HD, F350 and F-Super Duty models. Tighten the caliper pins to 21-26 ft.lbs. [28-36 Nm] on the F-150, F-250, Expedition and Navigator. Tighten the caliper pins to 42 ft.lbs. [56 Nm] on the 1999-00 F-250SD, F-350 and F-Super Duty models. 16. Install the wheels. 17. Lower the vehicle. 18. Pump the brake pedal a few times to build adequate pressure in the brake system and check the fluid level in the master cylinder.

What type of motor oil do you use for a 99 Honda Passport?
Listed in your owner's manual. May also be listed on the oil fill cap. You can use 5w30 until you find out for sure the correct weight. If you are asking about a brand of oil, then any major brand oil is fine. I personally use Pennzoil oil and Purolator filters, and have for over 30 years. Never had an internal engine problem but I also change my oil religiously and change the Air Filter every 30,000 miles which is as important as changing the oil. It is more about regular oil changes and a quality filter than the brand. I change my oil/filter every 5,000 miles on my current vehicles.
Try removing the negative cable from the battery terminal (black cable). This should reset all of your vehicle diagnostics.

Where is the oxygen sensor for a 1995 Chevy S-10?
I believe it is located on the exhaust, just before the cytalatic converter, which would be under the truck on the passenger side. Look for what looks kind of like a spark plug sticking out of the Y-pipe just before it connects to the converter. It will have a thin wire coming from the end of it. .
Actually it is before the firewall on the driver side of the engine in the exhaust manifold. You'll be able to reach down next to the oil fill tube and reach it from the engine compartment. It is difficult to reach from below the truck.

I have been having the same problem with a 1990 Toyota Celica after I needed to fix the horn switch in the steering wheel. The airbag was fine before I removed it, and then afterwards the light stayed on. I found this service bulletin on the subject. It should do the trick. PCEE https://toyota.justanswer.com/uploads/skyvisions/2008-06-14_071044_90_celica2.pdf - 30-JUL 2008 In follow up to the above. I used the procedure outlined in the service bulletin and it wroked great. I inserted the leads into the Tc and Ab ports and then tapped out the sequence on the ground cable on the battery. It cleared the 41 code and now the light is out and the system is reset!!!! PCEE

Can you use synthetic oil in 1998 lancer?
no problem in using synthetic oils as lubricant for this model.. but i myself use virgin oil. for me it is better for older car models.. i dont think there is a problem doing so - synthetic oil is just a lubricant like standard oil. I believe it is undesirable to mix it with standard though so you would want to change and flush the old oil type before using synthetic. it is also questionable if the benefit would make the additional cost worthwhile - I would doubt it.
