Perhaps more appropriate a question would be "Does PCSX2 support Pentium 4 processors?" The answer is yes. You may not have very stellar performance running it on a Pentium 4, however.

64 mb + i would recommend using a light version of Linux (Google it, there will be a few light Linux versions, download the CD image, and write it to a CD, then Boot off of that CD on the older computer)

256 megabytes+ it is possible to use windows Me or windows 2000. Windows XP can work, but it is not worth buying XP. If you have a CD with XP on it, go ahead and try that.

sounds like your processor is overheating and locking up to save itself from toasty death. then, when you try to restart it, it's still to hot to allow you to do it. check to see if your processor fan is dead.

There is no reason why the combination will not work, as there is nothing preventing an Intel processor malfunctioning with a ATI graphics card or vice versa. Just be careful that both components can fit on the motherboard.

Should take only a few seconds to reset the computer in theory. I have found this to be the case in my '99 Mystique & Contours. For my cars, I only remove fuses 4 & 11 from the box under the hood next to the battery. This resets the comuter without losing the station programming in my radio. Fuse numbers may be different in a '96. Check the FAQs at contour.org, or fordcontour.org to confirm which fuses for your car.

According to the system requirements, it requires a 1.7 GHz processor. The fastest Pentium III clocks in at 1.4 GHz, so it would technically not meet the requirements. However, the late-model Pentium IIIs were very close and sometimes even exceeded the Pentium 4s in performance, so it is possible that with a good graphics card, the game will run fine.

It really depends completely on how powerful of a processor you have. A low-clocked mobile i7 might have an insufficient clock speed for a particular video game, but it will still shred said game in every manner possible.

In the same sense, a P4 can be 1GHz above the suggest clock speed, and still utterly fail to provide enough compute power to make the game playable.

Newer games rely on your graphics card more than your processor-- This is also important to keep in mind. If the game runs well, the MHz / GHz requirement for the processor is moot.
